Ah yes, the Nintendo 64
game we all patiently waited for. It was five years between Zelda III and
this game, pretty much an eternity for Zelda fans. But it was well worth
the wait. People who had the foresight to preorder the game were rewarded
with a special collector's edition, which had a special box and a gold
cartridge. Ocarina of Time also made its way into the Guinness Book
or Records for "The most advance orders for a game." It's needless to say
that this game changed the way we look at Zelda forever. It was released
in November 1998 (in the US).
