"Hylians of the Future", Chapter 10Hylians of the FutureBy: LysiaChapter Ten: The Final Word "Zelda," Rob Cartwright said as soon as he came home from work one night. "Come here! I have a surprise for you." His only daughter ran out to him. "What is it?" she asked. "Look what I found in the museum today," he said, giving her an old, brown piece of paper. There was a faded symbol - the Triforce - on it, but Zelda couldn't read the ancient writing. "What does it say?" she asked her father. Rob translated, "To Zelda and Julia, I hope that this lasts long enough for you to find. Zelda and I can never thank you enough for what you have done to help us. We'd like you to know that everything has turned out fine and the Ganondorf will never again be able to be free to terrorize anyone again. Unfortunately, we have just sealed the Door of Time so we will never be able to see each other again, especially without the Master Sword. By the way, you can keep it! But it is for the best that it is this way. All the best to you both. Link. Apparently it had been filed away there for years." Zelda fell silent. Hundreds of thought rushed through her mind, but overall, she felt fantastic. Zelda eventually followed in her father's footsteps and studied ancient history. She majored in the Legends of Zelda, and made several significant discoveries, including the ruins of the Temple of Time, buried deep beneath the highway networks. Her endless curiosity for Link's time was never satisfied, purely because she wanted to see him again. In her spare time she examines the Master Sword to see if she will ever be able to open the Door of Time, despite the dangers of Ganondorf's return. Because of Julia Lindemann's previous criminal record and her aunt's refusal to have anything to do with her anymore, Julia spent nearly a year in juvenile detention. People partly blamed her for the President's death, even though the policewoman had actually shot him. Julia held onto this grudge and was angry for a long time. A while later, she found a job working for an airline company, and left Hyrule. She was never to find out about her ancestry unless she was ever needed, and she never saw Zelda or Link's letter. Her new life overseas was more successful, and she married a businessman, Kirk Daly. They have two boys, Lincoln and Steve. When Ganondorf woke up, two weeks later, his anger was unbelievable. He found himself surrounded by complete, empty darkness. He swore that one day he will escape and bring revenge to Zelda and Link (or their descendants) and spends his time looking for a way to do so. As for Zelda, Princess of Hyrule and Link the Hero of Time, well their many adventures continued well into the future. |
