She sighed heavily and knew she'd have to wait with him.
...Link looked at his watch often as they walked over to meet the other two people of their group. he knew Ganon had probably reached the house by now.
"Why do you look so worried Link?" Malon asked noticing his apprehensive expression.
"I'm not. I guess i'm a bit nervous with Ganon waiting with Zelda. He's been acting strangely for awhile now or haven't you noticed?"
Malon had heard that from several people, but had yet to witness his behavior. She shook her head in response.
"I just hope tonight goes smoothly."
Malon only hoped that he'd finally notice her.
...Ganon walked back and forth looking up at her window frequently. He began imagining scenarios, like her sending her butler out to tell him she was sick, or sending him to come up and see her house then her room. He was so deep in thought he didn't hear the gate open then close.
"You look great Ganon."
He jumped and was snapped out of his revere.
"You look way beyond beautiful." He said staring at her.
She shifted her weight from leg to leg uncomfortable with his open admiration, or was it obsessive admiration.
Ganon kept his stare ignoring the fact that she was uncomfortable. From the distance laughing could be heard.
Zelda turned quickly happily anticipating Link and his friend’s company.
Their eyes met and held till they were standing right in front of each other.
Ganon watched them wondering what that was all about.
“You look out of this world.” Link said not breaking his gaze.
Zelda smiled and turned her attention to Malon.
“You look so pretty Malon.”
Malon nodded “We all do.” They all laughed and started their walk to the festival.
Ganon attempted to hold a conversation with Zelda while Link hung back to watch with Malon in tow.
“Did you know that Hyrule was a kingdom once?”
Zelda looked up at him, seemingly interested in where this was going to go.
“I’ve heard things but no one’s ever proven this theory.”
Ganon glanced behind them then continued in a whisper. “I heard that too but I also heard that the only proof that they have is this golden triangle that they keep in a vault in the museum. From what they understand it was a symbol of great power, they believe there are two other pieces, one for wisdom, and the other courage.”
Link had been trying to keep up in order to eavesdrop on the subject that looked as if it sparked Zelda’s interest.
“There are also rumors of a princess and her hero and the tyrant they over-powered time and time again.” Malon added.
They all looked at her.
“I was at the museum a few weeks ago looking in the ancient times part of it when I over heard some of the employees discussing translating a language or writing called ‘Hylian’. They’d only been able to translate a part of the story on this stone with three adjacent triangles. They said there was a golden age where peace and prosperity went hand in hand, mystical beings of all levels and class. The kingdom of Hyrule was beautiful, and ruled by a very kind King and his daughter, the future queen, whose beauty surpassed them all but she wasn’t just a pretty face. She had the power of wisdom and could fortell things that were and things that may pass. With a princess there is always a prince or hero who’d have to stand up to any evil that came. He held the power of courage and was always at the kingdom to lend a hand when needed. And last was the Tyrant the most evil in the land of Hyrule. He held the power of Power and was not taken lightly.” She broke it off to take a quick breath. “It says that the sky grew dark and he attacked the kingdom with no mercy. Many died during this war. The goddesses, the ones who apparently created this world, decided that they could no longer watch this horrific display of chaos and death. Did something and now there’s no kingdom.” She finished.
“That’s all you got?” Ganon asked.
“They only got that far. Maybe they’ll write a book about it.”
Zelda kept quiet wondering why that story was bothering her so much.
Link watched Zelda’s strange reaction to the story.
Music could be heard and they knew they had finally arrived.
The festival had been set up on the football field and came to look beautiful, it had a medieval look to it though almost everyone had dressed down.
Ganon pulled Zelda on to the dance floor as they began the music, waltz with a hip hop twist to it.
Link watched them not really proud of his own dancing skill.
Malon tried to cut through the people dancing as she made her way to the drink table.
Link went to follow and Zelda caught his eye.
“Can I cut in?”
Ganon turned to find Link standing there hand out waiting for an answer.
Zelda took his hand in hers and slowly helped him to make their way far from Ganon.
“I don’t really know how to do this.”
Zelda smiled and had him watch her feet first as she tried to teach him the basics of the new waltz.
Ganon stood on the side waiting for them to come over. Fifteen minutes, thrity minutes, two hours came to pass and they were still on the dance floor laughing and talking. Ganon’s flaming red hair looked its reddest as he made his way toward them.
Malon followed closely behind anticipating a horrible scene.
Link and Zelda were so entranced by each other they didn’t notice that ganon was shoving his way through the crowd.
They broke away from the dance floor and rushed over to the bleachers to take a break. Zelda climbed the bleachers till she was at the last step, and stared up at the moon.
“Do you think that story is true?” She asked as he sat down beside her.
“It’s possible. But then where’s this Kingdom and all the Mystical beings?”
“Maybe they’re hiding.”
Link considered it for a second and looked over at her. “What’s wrong?”
She looked scared. He followed the direction she was looking and jumped up as Ganon roughly grabbed him.
“Wasn’t enough you had your own date you got to have mine too!”
Zelda jumped up in surprise as he lifted Link off his feet attempted to dangle him over the fence to the bleachers.
“We came as a group of friends Ganon!” She fell back as he made a grab for her.
The full moons light shone on him and her eyes widened as his skin had taken on a greenish tinge and his eye brows had thickened.
Malon stopped in her tracks as she watched him fling Link over the fence.
“No!” She screamed.
Zelda leaped up and took a look over the fence catching her scream in her throat and letting it die there. She sighed in relief as she saw link climb up after obviously grabbing hold of the gate as he fell.
A hand shot out and grabbed her from behind.
“You are mine!” he growled as she was lifted over his shoulders and ran quickly down the bleachers and out of sight as he exited the festival.
Malon stood there in shock.
“Malon!”
She looked up and watched as Link descended the steps and stood in front of her.
“Your okay!”She reached over to hug him but he stopped her.
“Malon where is he? And where is Zelda?”
She pointed and stared after him as he ran.
