Chapter One- The Legend of the Dark Sages
Yes, the time has come. The boy has his gaurd down. Now is the time to attack. Hyrule
is unsuspecting of any danger. Ganondorf was a fool. He was toying with the boy only to be
sealed in another realm. That does not matter. We have finally prepared. The boy shall die.
It was a peaceful day in Hyrule. There was a small breeze blowing through Kokiri Forest.
The evils that once tormented the land were gone. Ganondorf had been destroyed two years ago,
and then the Hero of Time was sent back to his origanal timeline. Link was enjoying this day.
"Link, come on." Link turned around and saw Saria.
"Sorry, just enjoying the nice day," Link replied. "As long as you're sure that this is worth
while."
"I know. Now come on." Saria grabbed Link's hand and dragged him through the forest.
After a couple minutes, Link and Saria reached a small clearing. "See," said Saria as she pointed
to the middle of the clearing. There was a small stone in the ground. It was a pitch black color. It
was perfectly round and half was underground.
Link went up and touched it, but pulled his hand back immidately. "That thing feels really
evil. I mean really evil. Ganondorf didn't even feel that evil. The wierd part is that I can only sense
the evil when I touch it. That makes no sense to me." Link sat down, puzzled.
"Well, I don't remember the alternate timeline, so I can't compare it to Ganondorf. Maybe
you should show Zelda. She is the only other person who can compare it to Ganondorf. She
knows all of those ancient Hylian legends. Plus the castle has a library, right? I'm sure that if
Zelda doesn't know, you could find it there."
"That's a good idea. Thanks Saria." Link walked up to the stone and pulled it out of the
ground. "Geez, this is heavy. I'll see ya later."
Link walked back through the forest and to his house. He grabbed his Kokiri Sword,
sheath and Hylian Shield. He attatched the sheath to his belt and put the sword in. He clipped
on his shield and walked out of his house.
He walked through the entrance to Hyrule Field. I wonder what this means. I hope that
there isn't any evil. But the feeling from this stone....it's crazy. It's like a million Ganondorfs. If
it's as powerful as it feels, this is gonna be bad. Link then noticed he was walking across the
drawbridge to the Hyrule Castle Town.
He walked up to the castle gates. "Hello, Link," the guard by the gate said.
"S'up." Link walked up to the castle and entered. He noticed Zelda standing by the door.
"Link, there you are." Zelda ran up to greet Link. "Hi, long time no see. I....what's that
stone?" She looked puzzled.
"I have no idea. I thought you might know. I found this in the ground in the forest. When
I touched it I felt a rush of evil come through me. It makes Ganondorf seem like a hero. Saria
suggested that you might know or it would be in the castle library."
"Okay, Link. I'll research it but you also have a job to do. Last night, there was some
kind of demon creature in the castle town. Three people were found wounded in the streets.
They said that it looked like a giant shadow. It's around eight feet tall. It is pitch black
except for it's piercing red eyes. They said that if you look into it's eyes, you will be unable to
move and that's how they got wounded. They also said that it's arms are powerful, with four
fingers that have razor sharp claws. It didn't do much after that. There were a couple of dead
dogs in the streets. They heard it say 'Karako Gaverd' so I think it's in the Kakiriko Graveyard.
You need to go kill it. I was going to go tell you at your house but you showed up here. My
father sent out 20 gaurds but I don't think they'll be able to beat it. Good luck."
Link looked confident. "Doesn't sound to hard. If I could beat Ganondorf, I can probably
beat this thing. I just hope that this stone isn't as bad as it feels." He handed the stone to Zelda.
"Wow, you're not kidding. This stone is evil. But don't worry. I should be able to find
something."
Link walked away. I hope my sword and shield are enough. This creature sounds strong.
Well, I was complaining I hadn't gotten to fight in a while. I guess I got what I wanted.
Good. The boy is going to follow the demon. Now, his strength shall be tested. It is time
for him to die very soon. I know he is strong enough. Let's just see if he can not look it in the
eyes. Yes, this shall be interesting.
"Master, the boy has found out about the demon. He is on his way to fight it."
"I know. I do not need your warnings. Prepare to bring him back from the other realm."
"But master, you said that we would only do that if the demon is dead."
"Yes, I know. The demon does not stand a chance. It is a pathetic creature."
"Master....it's my ultimate creation. How can it loose?"
"You know the boy is strong. You aren't strong enough to create a creature to stop him."
"But.."
"Shut up. I want the boy to have a surprise after the creature is dead."
"Yes master."
Link had just arrived in Kakiriko Village. He noticed that the sky was extremely cloudy.
The clouds got darker as they got closer to the graveyard. He noticed there were a few gaurds
blocking the graveyard's entrance.. "Halt. The graveyard is off limits....Ohh, it's you Link. Go on
in." The gaurds stepped aside to let Link enter. Everyone else might not remember the alternate
future, but they did believe his story when Zelda said it was true, so the gaurds trusted him.
He entered the graveyard and saw the other gaurds. Most were on the ground, bleeding.
The few that were still fighting were having a hard time. Link ran up to the creature but it looked
down at him, right in the eyes. Link froze. He saw it slash at his arm with it's claws. It made a
deep wound in his left arm.
He was knocked sideways when he was hit, breaking eye contact. It was going towards
another gaurd. Link got on top of a gravestone, and jumped towards the creature. He shoved his
sword through it's head hoping he hit one of it's eyes. The creature screamed in pain. Link had
stabbed through the back of the head, and his sword came out through it's right eye. Link pulled
his sword out. Then Link got up onto the gravestone. He jumped again, and this time went through
it's left eye. The creatures eyes could no longer freeze anyone with it's stare, so it was no easily
beatable. They did not know that it could still sense presences.
It knocked down the few gaurds that were still standing and then faced Link. Then, the two
charged each other. The demon slashed horizontaly. Link jumped over it's hand and slashed it's
chest. The demon screamed out in pain. It was not ready to die. Link began slashing it's chest.
Finally it fell down. The demon was dead.
Link ran back to Kakariko Village. "Quick, somebody get some doctors. All of the gaurds
are wounded." A few people ran off. A couple minutes later they ran back with doctors. Everyone
walked into the graveyard.
"My, my. This is bad. Lucky these guards are. None of their wounds are fatal." Now that
Link wasn't focused on fighting, he noticed how much blood their was. He decided to leave. He
knew his wound wouldn't be bad. He was used to much worse.
As he walked into Hyrule Field, he noticed two figures in the distance. All he could tell was
that they were both wearing black. One of them had their hands sticking out. All of a sudden there
was a black vortex in front of his hands. Then he noticed a giant figure emerge. The vortex
disappeared. The figure was at least twice as tall as the other two. Link saw the two giant swords
it was holding, and the tail that looked like it was weak. It was the unmistakeable figure of Ganon.
There was a flash of light, and then Ganon was turned into Ganondorf. Ganondorf flew
towards Link. "Well, now look who we have here. Link, the boy who sealed me in another realm.
Boy, this time you won't live."
Link stared Ganondorf in the face. Then he looked back where Ganon had appeared. The
two figures were gone. I don't know who they were, but they must've been strong to bring Ganon
back. "I made a mistake when I sealed you in another realm, I should have killed you instead."
Ganondorf laughed. "Boy, you can't win this time. You don't have the Master Sword."
He charged some energy, and then through it at Link. He swung his Kokiri Sword and the blast
was reflected back at Ganondorf. It hit Ganondorf and damaged him.
"You know. I was able to use the Biggoron's Sword against you in the future. It wasn't the
Master Sword. I can win with the Kokiri Sword."
"Ha ha ha. Boy. You're going to be sorry that you dared fight me again. The Biggoron's
Sword worked, but it was stronger. Your Kokiri Sword is far to weak to win against me." Ganondorf
then charged at Link, charging energy to his fists. When he got to Link he began punching. He
punched forward. Link side-stepped out of the way and then swung at Ganondorf's chest.
Ganondorf fired an energy blast and hit Link in the stomache. He threw another punch at Links face
and knocked him backwards. Ganondorf charged a huge ball of energy in his hand and aimed
towards Link. "Any last words, boy?" He laughed.
"Actually, I do have some last words. I win." Ganondorf looked at Link, puzzled.
"You can't win, it's impossible. What are you talking about?" Link pointed behind
Ganondorf. Ganondorf turned around. "What? There's nothing the..."
He gasped. Link had tricked him. While he had turned around, Link had gotten up and
sliced Ganondorf's back. A huge amount of blood was oozing down his back. He turned towards
Link. He was smirking. "Told ya I'd win. Should've listened to me."
Ganondorf couldn't believe it. He was being beat, again. What Link did not know was that
Ganondorf was prepared. He held his right hand into the air and the Triforce of Power began to
glow. Then, in a flash of light, he transformed into Ganon. After transforming, his wound had
healed.
"I think it's time I show you my new technique." Ganon held one of his swords into the air
and it began to glow. Then, purple light began glowing around it. Ganon's sword then turned pitch
black. He swung it and energy came flying towards Link. "What did you think I was doing for the
last two years?"
Link jumped out of the way. Then he charged and jumped. Ganon swung but Link was
expecting that to happen. He kicked Ganon's sword with both feet and flew backwards. The instant
he landed, Link sprinted towards Ganon. Before he could react, Link had jumped towards his face.
Link did a vertical slice and sliced threw flesh. Blood was pooring like mad and Ganon was
screaming in pain. He was concentrating on stopping the blood that he didn't notice Link. Link
charged and did a diagonal swing across his chest. Ganon now knew the end was near. He
couldn't stop both gashes in time.
He didn't die though. A beam of purplish-black light came down from the sky. Both
wounds healed. A voice could be heard. "Fool. I can't believe I revived you. You are pathetic.
I think you need to be taught a lesson. You do not loose. Now, you shall be sealed back in the
sacred realm." Ganon then disappeared. Link just stood there, puzzled. He had no idea who
that was, but they had to be strong to seal Ganon.
Yes. Everything is going as planned. Soon, it shall be time. I shall rule Hyrule. Not even
Triforce itself can stop me.
"Master, I have sealed him."
"Good. Prepare to set loose the first wave of evil. Do not let them kill. Just hurt. The
deaths do not need to happen yet."
"Why not?"
"I want Link to underestimate my power. That shall give me quite an advantage."
"Are you sure that will work?"
"Do not quesion my plans."
"Yes master."
Zelda was sitting in the castle library, looking through a book of legends. It was the oldest
book in the entire library and had every known Hylian legend. Ah-ha! I think I found it. She had
stopped on a page titled The Shadow Stone. Oh no! This....can't be true. Just then Link came
in. "Hi. Did you find out anything?"
"Link.....this is terrible. I did find out something. This is the stone of the Dark Sages."
"Wha....Dark Sages? Who the heck are they?"
"The dark sages are five ancient sages. This story is very long, so I suggest you take a
seat." Link sat down in a chair. "Okay. About 500 years ago, there was nothing but danger. You
would be thankful just to wake up in the morning. The five dark sages were terrorising all of Hyrule.
There was only one person who was daring enough to take on the dark sages. His name was lost,
but he defeated three of them. He wasn't strong enough to destroy them, but he did have a perfect
plan. He found a stone. It was perfectly round. He then was able to awaken six sages. Light,
Forest, Fire, Water, Shadow and Spirit. Link, they are the origanal six sages. They combined their
power and sealed three of them. They died eventually, but their power remained in the stone. This
is the first sign of the return of the other two. The sages of Power and Death. They are the other
two. They are also the most powerful.
"This stone is magic. It's power will not work unless the other two are gaining power. You
need to be very powerful to defeat them. They killed the six sages. The hero used a spell to kill
himself and them at the same time, but he was to weak. They lived. Now they are returning. If you
fail to kill them, Hyrule is doomed. You don't have time to use the Master Sword. You can't wait
five years to be 17 because they will have destroyed Hyrule by then. I think are best hope is
Biggoron. Have him make a Biggoron's Sword that is the size of your Kokiri Sword. That will be
stronger and give you a better chance. The ones that are coming, their descendants, may be more
powerful than the original ones so this could be harder than we expect."
"That's who they were," Link said, remembering the two who revived Ganon.
"What? Who are you talking about?" Zelda had no clue that Ganon had been revived.
"Ganon. When I was coming back, I saw two people. The wore black cloaks, or that's
what it looked like from a distance. They revived Ganon and then dissappeared. I had him so
badly wounded that he was going to die, but then they revived him and sealed him in the Sacred
Realm."
"That's......impossible. Link, we have less time than I thought. I think they are close to
full power. If they can do that we aren't fast enough. If this isn't close to their full power, It'll be
hopeless. Quick Link, go see Biggoron. Get a Biggoron's Small Sword. Then stay in Kokiri
Forest. I'm going to have to come over there. I can train you."
"How the heck can you train me?" Link had no idea how Zelda could train him. He had
mastered everyone of his items. What could she mean.
"Don't worry. Just get out of here. We have very little time. The few days it takes to make
your new sword might not be enough, so don't waste time." Link just listened. He knew Zelda was
right, those sages were extremely powerful.
He walked towards Kakiriko Village. Link knew that the goron's liked him, and he was
sworn brother to Darunia. This gave him special privelages so he could probably get a free
sword. He kept thinking about what could happen. Very few positive thoughts came to his head.
The few that came were nothing compared to the negative ones. He kept imagining terrible fates
that Hyrule could have. Come on Link. Think positive. I can't get scared. No, I can win. I am
the legendary Hero of Time. I have the power to win. He kept thinking as he climbed up Death
Mountain.
"Master, he is getting a new sword. He has going to get rid of his old one. I suggest we
strike now, while we have a good chance."
"We shall wait three weeks. I want him to be prepared for the first group of enemies."
"Master....That is not a good idea. You might pay for the desicion."
"And you might die for talking to me like that. I could kill you just by thinking."
"M...m....master?"
"Shut up. Three weeks. You have that long to get our first group of enemies. Make it
small. No more than a couple thousand. Keep them spread out in groups of a maximum 100.
I want Stalfos, ReDead, Moblins, Demons and anything else you like. Make them lesser. I don't
want them to have high strength."
"Y..yes master."
Good....good. The time for us to strike is soon. I am sure that the boy and that girl will try
to stop us. They found the stone and learned of our existance. I am sure that they will be worth
while. If I can steal both of their Triforces I can revive Ganon again. With the full Triforce
combined with my power, even the goddesses won't be able to beat me. I can then enslave Hyrule.
If I destroy the goddesses, the Hylians will know that I am not to be fought agains. But, the boy
must die first.
"Princess, are you sure that you want to go?" Impa was asking Zelda.
"Yes. We have to prepare." Zelda wanted to hurry, but her father and Impa were making
surre that she was ready.
"Can you please explain why you're going?" The king had no idea why Zelda was going.
"I already told you, it's to hard to explain. I gotta go." Zelda was begining to get annoyed.
"I'm going to have you take some gaurds with you. You need protec..."
"Link can protect me, daddy. He beat that shadow monster. The gaurds couldn't do that."
"Okay fine. But you're taking an esscort to Kokiri Forest. Link is going to bring you home,
right?"
"Yes. Can we go already." She had to repeat stuff alot. She had to be safe.
"Okay, let's go." Two gaurds had arrived.
Finally. I thought we'd never leave.
Link had just gone through Goron's City. He was now in Biggoron's crater. "Hello!
Biggoron, you there?"
Biggoron sat up. "Ohh , hi Link. Do you need me to make a sword for you?"
"Yeah. But I don't want it big. If it's the same size as the normal Biggoron's Swords, I can't
even hold it. Make it the same size as this." Link held up his Kokiri Sword. Biggoron took it.
"That be hard. Me can do it. Come back in a week."
"What!? A week!? Biggoron, a huge evil is coming. It's going to make Ganon seem like a
nothing. Can't you go faster?"
"Ohh. That why? Come back in....six days. I'm sorry but making it small is hard for big
me. I'm so big, so that's as fast as I make it. Ohh, Darunia wants to see you."
"Okay. Thanks. I'll see you in six days." Link went back to Goron City. He jumped down
to the bottom and ran into Darunia's room. "Hi Darunia. You wanted to see me."
Darunia turned around. He looked very serious. Link looked suprised by his look of
seriousness, until Darunia started laughing. "Brother, you should've seen your face. I just wanted
to say hi. It's been a while since we've seen each other."
"Yeah, I'd love to chat but I gotta get home. I meeting Zelda at my house."
"Ahh, so Zelda's your girlfriend?" Link's face went red.
"No. She's helping me train for a new evil. I don't know how she can train me but she's
gonna. A new evil is coming and it is far suppirior to Ganon. I'll come back as soon as it's gone."
"Okay brother, I assume it must be big. Good luck. And don't try to hide that Zelda's
your girlfriend." Link's face went red again. I'll get my revenge, Darunia. That was annoying.
Especially since I'm out in the open now. Well, brothers are supposed to be mean to each other,
so I guess I can get revenge. Just nothing major. This should be good. Link smirked evily.
Link finally got home after about an hour of thinking of ways to get revenge on Darunia. He
couldn't think of any good ideas so he just gave up. He climbed the lader to his house. He went
inside and saw Zelda sitting on his bed. "Ohh, hi Link. You're back. How long 'till your sword's
ready."
"Six days. Biggoron said it's the fastest he can make such a small sword. And I'm going
to make Darunia sorry he was ever born."
"Six days, darn. That might not be fast enough. But I really want to know why you're mad
at Darunia."
"Well, it's...um...never mind."
"Tell me. Please."
"No."
"Please."
"No."
"Why not?"
"'Cause I said so."
"You're mean."
"Fine. Darunia really embarressed me in front of the gorons."
"What did he do?"
"That's what I can't say." Link was begining to be annoyed. Why is Zelda so annoying?
Zelda was also annoyed.
"Fine. If it's that bad, why don't you....um....I can't think of a good prank."
"Who cares. Let's just start training. You still haven't told me what you're going to do yet."
"I'm going to help you train with your weopons. You can always get better." Link became
more annoyed.
"Zelda. I mastered all of my weopons. I can't get any better."
"Look. I know you aren't perfect. If you can get better, it will be usefull."
"Okay, maybe you're right. I can get better. But how are you going to help me?" Zelda
walked over to her bag of stuff. She had a bunch of clothes, but under all of them, she had a bow
and a quiver full of arrows.
"I have been practicing with the bow and arrows for three years now."
Links jaw dropped. "Okay. Maybe you're right." Wow. Three years. She's amazing.
Maybe I can get better. "Fine. Let's start training."
"Do you think that is a wise desicion master?"
"Yes. It has been a week since I made the desicion. I know that he got his new sword
from Biggoron. We can unleash a small amount. I want 10 stalfos, 5 redead, 2 moblins and one
lesser demon to attack tomorrow. He shall know we're coming."
"Yes master."
Link and Zelda were in a clearing in the forest training. Link had been training with his bow
for a week straight. Saria would watch them practice each day. Zelda was throwing pots into the
air and Link was shooting them.
"Good job Link. You're getting good at moving targets." Zelda said. "This week of training
has paid off."
Link was tired. "I know it's paid off. You've only let me get five hours a sleep each night.
Then I have to train. I would like to sleep for a day now that I'm good."
Saria giggled. "Well Link, it is your job to protect Hyrule. You are the hero of time after
all." Link gave her an angry stare.
"Saria, you suck. It's your fault that you made me start this quest. Why did you have to
show me the stone in the first place?"
"Cause I thought you'd like it. It's not my fault you have to do this training. Complain to
Zelda." Link shot Saria a hateful glare.
"Don't worry Saria. He's just cranky that I'm not letting him sleep. Right Link? Link?"
Link was lying on the ground sleeping. "Link. Wake up." Zelda started shaking Link, but he
didn't wake up. "Wake up. It's time to get up. Wake up!" No matter how loud Zelda shouted,
Link didn't wake up.
"I know what to do. Just pour cold water on his head. I did that once. He was up in an
instant. There's an ice cold stream nearby." Zelda laughed at the idea.
"Okay, I just need a bucket. It'll take a while to run back to Link's house and get one."
"Don't worry. We can just pick him up and drop him in the stream." Zelda and Saria
picked Link up and carried him over to the nearby stream. They dropped him in and Link jumped
up.
"Aaaaahhhh! Cold!" He jumped out of the stream and noticed Saria and Zelda laughing.
"Why'd you guys to that?" Link started shivering. "C...c....cold." Zelda and Saria continued
laughing. Finally they were able to speak.
"You fell asleep. I couldn't wake you up by yelling or shaking you so Saria suggested that
we drop you in a river. I was going to let you sleep tonight anyways," Zelda replied.
"Good. Now you must pay though." Link smirked. Then he charged at Zelda and Saria.
They began running but were way to slow to out run Link. Saria was a little slower than Zelda and
got caught first. Link lunged forward and grabbed Saria's shoulders. He pushed her into the water.
Then he charged at Zelda. She was to far ahead and she had already passed the stream. Zelda
climbed the lader to Link's house. Link quickly caught up with her.
"Ha! I made it to the house. Now you don't have a stream to dunk me in." Zelda stuck her
tongue out.
"I'm soaking wet. I only have to tackle you, so I wouldn't laugh." Link smirked and then he
tackled Zelda and knocked her onto the bed. She started shivering.
"G...ge...geez. D...did you have to d..do tha...t?" Link nodded. "Fine. If you w..want to be
evil I'll just get my revenge."
"Trust me, you won't have an easy time getting revenge on me. That isn't easy."
"I doubt it. I know how to get rev...enge when I want to. You're gonna be sorry." Link just
smiled.
The Evil Begins by Death God
Chapter Two- The Evil Begins
Link was not lying about wanting to sleep for a day. After supper, Link fell fast asleep. He
didn't wake up until noon the next day. He grabbed his tunic and pulled it over his undershirt. He
put on his socks and boots and walked out side. Link then noticed he was hungry. He jumped
down to the ground and didn't even notice how much his legs hurt. He was to hungry.
Link walked inside Saria's house. Saria and Zelda were sitting on the table, eating lunch.
"Why didn't you guys wake me up for lunch?" Link was angry that they didn't wake him up.
"I didn't want to get thrown in the lake again, and Zelda didn't want to be tackled again.
You were really mad at us for waking you." Saria replied.
"Well....umm....I guess I see your point. Never mind. I'm just really hungry." Link sat
down. "Ouch. I shouldn't have jumped off the balcony. Darn it, my legs really hurt." Link tried to
think of how to make his legs stop hurting.
"Well Link, maybe you should use the ladder from now on. Then you might not be sorry for
making an idiotic move." Zelda was annoyed with Links complaining. Saria just sat their, not
wanting to be in the middle of their fight.
"Ahh, who cares, I just wanna eat." Link then started eating, and eating, and eating. He
stuffed himself.
"Is it just me, or does Link just have a habit of being an idiot?" Zelda asked. She couldn't
understand why or how Link ate so much.
"M oay. I an et a ot. M hgry." Link said with his mouth full.
"What?" Zelda had no idea what Link just said.
Link swallowed his food. "I said: 'I'm okay. I can eat a lot. I'm hungry.' And it's true. I can
eat a lot." Zelda just stared in disbelief.
"Link, you ate that much. That's a real lot. I mean, it's crazy."
"That's how Link is when he's hungry. Trust me, I've known him since we were little kids."
Saria said. Link just continued stuffing himself until he was finally full.
"Mmmm. That was good. I'm ready to train again."
"Okay Link, today we have secret training. Meet me in the secret field." Zelda replied.
"Why can't Saria watch? I don't see why she can't." Link didn't get it.
"Just listen. Ohh, and Saria, if you follow us I'll peg you in the face with an arrow." Zelda
looked towards Saria, and Saria got scared.
"O...okay. I don't understand why you're being so mean though."
"Let's go Link. We need our stuff." Link and Zelda walked back to Link's house and
got their bow and quivers. "Link, I need to talk to you. I think we're running out of time. Last night
a moblin and three stalfos appeared. I heard them and killed them with arrows. I want to train in
private so we can get more done. Saria talks to us and wastes a bit of time. Grab your sword and
shield. I know exactly what we're gonna do.
They walked through the forest until they came to a clearing no one knew about. "Okay
Link. Try and fight me. I will use my bow. You can fight however you want." Zelda said.
"Zelda, I can't fight you. I'm a lot stronger than you. If we fought you could get hurt." Link
replied.
"Link, don't worry. I'm not going to show you any mercy so you'll be sorry if you don't fight
back." Zelda knew that Link could kill her if he tried, but he had to practice some actual fighting.
"I'll give up when I get hurt enough."
Zelda pulled out her bow and aimed an arrow at Link. She released it and it went towards
Link with lightning fast speed. It pegged him in his right shoulder. He began to bleed. "Zelda I
can't fight you. I don't want you to get hurt. Just listen to me." Zelda did not listen. In an instant
she had already fired another arrow, this one hitting him in his left knee. It also began to bleed.
Link was beginging to get angry. "Fine Zelda, but I warned you." He pulled out his bow and aimed
towards Zelda. She jumped to the side but Link had anticipated this and he hit her the instant she
landed on the ground. It scraped her left arm and it bled a little.
"Good, now let's see if you can do any real damage." She charged at Link, with her bow in
her hand. She fired arrows as she was running. Link was now dodging them. His shoulder and
knee were hurting a lot now. When Zelda was about 10 feet away from Link, she clipped her bow to
her back and started throwing punches at Link. Link pulled out his new Biggoron's Small Sword
and began swinging at her. He made the swings light so that she wouldn't be hurt. He gave her a
few scratches but she had delivered some hard punches to Link. Finally Link sheathed his sword
and decided to use fist combat. He threw a very hard punch to her gut, and she fell down
unconcious.
"Sorry Zelda. I didn't want to hurt you like that but I wanted to end the fight. You just
wouldn't heed my warnings." He picked her up and carried her back to his house. Then he tried to
figure out a way to climb his ladder, but couldn't think of any. Then he just carried her to Saria's
house.
Saria turned around and saw Link. "Ohh, hi Link, yo....what happened to Zelda?"
"Long story. To make it short, Zelda wanted to fight me. I refused so she hit me with
arrows." He pointed to his shoulder and knee, which were no longer bleeding much. "Then I had no
choice so I fought back. She decided to use fist combat so I delivered a punch to her gut. It
knocked her out, but ended the fight. It was the only solution I could think of. I couldn't get he up
the ladder to my house, so I was wondering if she could rest her."
"Okay. Just set her on the bed." Link put Zelda on Saria's bed.
"Aaahhhhh!" Link heard one of the Kokiri scream.
"What's that? I better go check it out. This can't be good." Link ran outside and noticed
why he had heard one of the Kokiri scream. There were stalfos, redead, a moblin and some kind
of demon like creature. He pulled out his bow and shot the moblin. If fell to the ground, dead. Link
pulled out his sword. "Time to test this. If it's as good as Biggoron said, it'll make my old
Biggoron's Sword seem like nothing."
He charged one of the stalfos and swung. It died instantly. He noticed two stalfos coming
from behind him, so he did a spin attack and killed them both. He jump attacked a redead before it
could freeze him. Another redead aproached him from behind but Link spun around and stabbed it
before it could freeze him. A stalfos threw it's sword at Link, but Link jumped out of the way and the
sword killed a redead. Link killed the swordless stalfos. The two remaining stalfos and two redead
approached Link, but were killed by a spin attack. All that remained was the demon like creature,
the lesser demon.
The demon was about the same height as Link. It was a pitch black color and it's arms
had sharp claws about an inch long. It had piercing red eyes. It was just like the demon Link had
already killed in the graveyard, only smaller and more human like. Link charged it and did a
horizontal swing. The demon jumped at least 10 feet high and landed on top of Link. It was
kneeling on top of Links arms. It held out one of it's hands right above Link's face. It clawed one of
Links cheeks. It began bleeding. It cut his forehead and other cheek. Link's head was throbbing.
He knew the end was near. It held it's hand above Link throat. This was it. No. I can't believe this
is how I have to die. Now Hyrule has no defense against the dark sages. This is it. Just then an
arrow went right through the demon's head. It fell off of Link. Link pulled out his sword. He
delivered a powerful cut to the chest, ending the demon's life.
Link looked in the direction that the arrow came and saw Zelda running towards him. "You
got very luck Link. If I would've woke up any later, that thing would've killed you. You owe me."
Link stood up, thanking the goddesses that Zelda had woken up just then. "Yeah, I guess I
am lucky. Well, it's only been a week of training, do you think that this is it, or if it's just a
warning?" Link asked.
"I think it's a warning. I know that they are stronger than that, or they're really weak. I'm
guessing we have another week. We really need to train now." Zelda was hoping that they did have
a week, because the extra time would be very useful.
"I think I've trained enough. I can't get much better. Let's just have fun because if I die
fighting these guys, I want to have enjoyed the end of my life." Link prayed that this wouldn't be the
end of his life. He was to young to die.
"Yeah, you are really good. I'll side with you if that's what you want to do. I've never been
here before. It's not like we've seen each other in the last two years. So what are we gonna do?"
Link thought. "Hmmmm. Well, we could go swimming, or exploring in the lost woods, or
playing a prank on Mido, everyone hates him. Or we could go tree climbing, or just walking. We
could try to find something interesting in the forest. I dunno. Those are just some things we can
do. If you can think of something, I don't care what we do."
Zelda thought for a minute. "Let's go swimming. I never get to go to Lake Hylia or any
other swimming areas. Sounds like fun."
So, the boy was able to easily destroy the first batch of monsters. I expected no less.
Now I have two weeks until we fight Hyrule. Boy you had better enjoy the end of your life. I am
much more powerful than you could ever imagine.
"Master, prepare for a fight. Five stalfos and a redead want to kill you."
"Fine. They can feel my wrath. I have not fought yet. My powers only awakened a short
while ago. I need a fight." The stalfos and redead came in. The redead tried to freeze him, but
failed. He stuck out his hand and flames rose out of the ground. They all began to burn. "You
should not have tried to fight me. I am unbeatable."
Link, Zelda and Saria were all at a hidden pond in Kokiri Forest. None of the other Kokiri
knew about this place. They were just about to go swimming. Link pulled of his tunic, under shirt
and pants, so he was just in a pair of shorts. He jumped in but started shivering. "Th...is is c...c..
cold." Zelda and Saria just laughed. They were already in swim suits.
"Maybe you shouldn't just jump in next time, huh Link?"
Link just gave Zelda an angry stare. He knew that she was trying to annoy him. He
couldn't let her annoy him. "Why do you always call me stupid? You already did that once. Can't
you ever stop?"
"No. It's fun to make you mad. You're always funny when you're mad. I'm not actually
calling you stupid." Link jumped and took Zelda under. When she came back up she splashed at
Link. Link just dunked her under again. She then remembered when she promised she'd get
revenge on Link. She knew now might be a good time. It just needed planning. She got the
perfect plan. Now, Link would be sorry. Of course, Link could tell she had an evil look on her face.
"I better run....bye." Link tried to swim towards shore but Zelda grabbed his foot and pulled
him under.
"Saria, it's time for revenge. Come on." Saria swam over and wondered how they were
going to torture Link. "I have the perfect plan."
"What are we gonna do. Umm..are you trying to drown Link?" Link had been under for
about 30 seconds, because Zelda was holding him down with her foot.
"Oops." Zelda moved her foot and Link surfaced, gasping for air. After he finally filled his
lungs he knew he was better off staying under. Zelda had an evil look on her face.
"I....um....is this gonna hurt...or be plain old evil?" Zelda just kept smiling evily. She went
next to Saria and whispered something in her ear. Then they both laughed. Link knew he would
probably be better off dead. Link whished he had one of his weopons to defend himself with.
"Link. You're gonna be sorry that you were ever born." Zelda said and then started
laughing again. Saria looked over towards Zelda.
"Calm down. It's a good prank, but don't laugh so much. You seem like you're going
mental. Come on stop it." Zelda kept laughing, but it was fake laughter. They could tell.
"Zelda, you aren't very good at acting. That was the worst fake laugh ever."
Zelda immidiatly stopped laughing and glared at Link. "I know, I didn't want it to sound real.
Now that you're distracted, you get to die. Behind you." Zelda pointed behind Link. While Link
was distracted, Saria had gone behind him. Link was about to run/swim away but Saria had put her
arms under his and brought them up. Link couldn't move his arms. Zelda came up to him and
smiled evily. She tried to do an evil laugh but decided not to. "Now Link, it's time for the best prank
ever."
"What are you gonna do to me. No. I'm to young to die." Link was very scared. He knew
they could be evil.
"Don't worry, you don't get to die. It's just torture." She walked up in front of Link. "Now,
what should I do. I gotta get good revenge. I want you to be sorry that you ever tackled me. Saria
you got any ideas?"
Just then, a scream was heard. It sounded like it came from the entrance to Kokiri Forest.
Link tried to struggle to get free, but he didn't want to hurt Saria so he couldn't get free. "Come on!
Let me go! I gotta go help!" Link was angry that she wouldn't let him go. Saria didn't listen.
"The Kokiri get scared all the time Link. It's probably nothing." Saria didn't think that the
dark sages would come this early.
"Fine. I don't care if you get hurt. I gotta help them." Link struggled free but Saria didn't
get hurt. Link quickly put on the rest of his clothes and ran towards where he heard the scream.
When he got there, he saw a huge group of monsters. He ran inside and grabbed his sword,
shield and bow. He jumped out side and shot a moblin with and arrow. He ran into the group and
started choping down stalfos. He felt a sharp pain in his back. He spun around and saw that a
moblin had stabbed him with it's spear. Link sliced it's stomache open. He continued killing
creatures. He had defeated them all after a while. He knew that the dark sages had finally decided
to attack.
"Master, you attacked early, why?"
"I am sick of waiting. I am not good at that. I am too young."
"The origanal sage in your family had a strong point for waiting. What has happened since
then?"
"Shut up. I don't care about my family history. I do not like to wait. I attacked the Kokiri
this time. The boy is prepared. Now for the battle to begin. You shall go to the dessert. I have
prepared your tower. Now go."
"But master..."
"Shut up. I am sick of hearing your voice. Go. It is in the remains of the old Spirit
Temple. I destroyed it."
"T..th...that is how s..strong you are?"
"Yes. It was easy. Go now. You have until the count of three before I kill you."
He ran off.
Link was sitting on his bed, thinking. Man. I didn't think they'd attack this early. Tonight
could be my last. Just then, Zelda walked in. "Link, is something wrong? You left right after you
finished supper."
"Yeah, I'm just thinking. I hope that this isn't as bad as I think. I better sleep good. This
could be my last night of living." Link was really down. He didn't think he stood much of a chance
against the dark sages.
All of a sudden, a letter appeared in thin air. It said Link on the top. Link unfolded it. It
read:
Hello boy. I am one of the Dark Sages. I must congratulate you on defeating all of my
creatures so far. Of course, they were nothing. Your true test is about to begin. I have destroyed
the Spirit Temple. In it's place I have built a tower. Go there to fight the first dark sage, the Sage
of Power. I don't expect you to live, but if you do, I will be much stronger than him. I am the other
sage. Good luck, you'll need it. Power may be weaker than me, but he is still very strong.
Link was scared. This sage sounded very strong. Link didn't think that he could beat him.
"I...no, I can't lose. I can win. I must win." Zelda could sense the fear in Link's voice.
"Don't worry, you can win. You're strong. Just get some sleep so that you're ready
tomorrow. You sleep on the bed. The better you rest, the better you'll fight." Zelda hoped Link
believed her. She also was afraid of what could happen if Link failed. Link took Zelda's advice and
fell asleep. He knew that he needed sleep.
Link woke up. He got out of bed and realized that screaming was coming from outside.
Link grabbed his sword, shield and bow and jumped outside. The forest was on fire. Link heard
someone laughing. He wanted to kill whoever was laughing. How could someone do this. Link
noticed someone floating in midair above the entrance of Kokiri Forest. He looked young, maybe
19 or 20 years old. He was wearing a black shirt and black pants. He had short black hair.
"Well, look who has finally woke up. If it isn't the great hero Link. He's so weak he can't
even save his forest from destruction. You're pathetic. I can't believe I ever wanted to fight you.
Your not worth my time." What the mysterious guy said made Link's blood boil. Link wanted to
avenge all of the Kokiri.
"Who are you?" Link had no idea that someone could be so strong. He had to know who
he was.
"I am someone you know. I am the ultimate dark sage. I am the Sage of Death, but you
can call me Death." Death lifted his hand up and more flames appeared in the forest. Link knew
that he had to fight. He pulled out his bow and fired an arrow. If hit Death in the stomache. Death
pulled the arrow out of his stomache and acted like he didn't even notice that he was bleeding a lot.
"Is that the best you can do? I thought that the great Link would be better. I guess I'm to strong
for you." He held out his hand and Link fell down to the ground. He felt like his entire body was on
fire. Death landed on the ground and walked up to Link. He grabbed Link's sword and held it up to
Link's neck.
"Nooo! You can't kill me! Please, don't!" Link was scared, he didn't want to die. The
sword was about to touch his neck. "No!"
Link woke up immidiatly. He was breathing very hard and he was sweating like mad. It
wasn't real. Link realized that Zelda was awake. "Link, are you okay. You were screaming in your
sleep."
The dream kept replaying in his head. The burning forest, Death, and the end of Link's life.
"Yeah, I guess. That dream was really scary. The Sage of Death killed me."
"Don't worry about it. It's only a dream."
"No, I don't think so. I think it's another phropetic dream. I don't think I stand a chance
against this guy. He's just...to strong." Link was very scared. He thought that the dream could be
real. Maybe he would die fighting the death sage. Zelda could tell that Link was very scared.
"Link, you'll be okay." Zelda wanted to help Link, if he was going to fight the dark sages,
he was going to have to fight his fear first.
"N..no. Hyrule is doomed. I just can't win." Link's fear was rising very quickly. "I'm a
million times more scared than when I fought Ganon or Majora. I...just can't do this. It's
impossible."
Zelda was beginning to get angry. "Link, you're just letting your fear control you. You can
win. You're being foolish. You know that you can win, you just can't let your fear get to you." Link
knew that Zelda was right. But the fear was to much for him to control. He just wanted to be
normal. He didn't want to be the hero. It was just to hard.
"Look, you don't know how hard it is to be me! I'm the one who always goes around saving
Hyrule! I'm the one who has to risk my life defending thousands of people! I'm the one who does
everything! People just look at me and think I'm the guy that saves them all but I'm not! My life isn't
as easy as everyone thinks!" All of Link's anger had finally been released. He just couldn't conrol it
anymore. Finally he could just sit down and know that someone knew how he felt.
Now Zelda was angered. Link had to stop thinking that he was going to die. He just
needed to stop thinking he was going to die. "Look! You may think that you've got a hard life, but
so do other people! You can't think that you're going to die no matter what! You have to stop
thinking like that! I'm not going to let my boyfriend...crap, did I just say that outloud." Zelda
couldn't believe she had just said that out loud. She wanted to just fall over dead, but she knew
that wouldn't happen.
Link just stood there, speechless. Was this supposed to be the part where he told Zelda
that he liked her. Aah, screw it. I'll just tell her. "I...um...love...you too."
Link and Zelda both just stood there. Both were at a loss for words. They both just laid
down in their beds (or blanket that was on the floor, in Zelda's case) and just thought. Link was
glad he said something, because if he died, he wanted someone to know his secret.
Finally, Link broke the silence. "Well, good night. If I die, I wanna get some sleep on my
last night of living." Link no longer feared that he would die. He had a new insperation. If he did
live, his future wouldn't be pointless. This new insperation was enough to keep him from being
afraid. He now accepted the fact that he would fight the dark sages. Now he could rest peacefully.
Link could feel the bright morning sun on his face. He opened his eyes and noticed that it
was around noon by looking at the position of the sun. At least he got to sleep in. Link got up and
put on his tunic, belt, socks and boots. He stepped out onto his balcony. Link enjoyed the fresh
scent of the morning, but today it seemed even better. Maybe it was because it might be his last
day of life, maybe because his dream had been fulfilled. Link remembered the previous night. Well,
at least if my life does end, it'll end with a happy ending.
Link climbed down his ladder and went over to Saria's house. Saria and Zelda were inside.
"Hi Link," Saria said cheerfully.
"You slept in late." Zelda said. She was used to having a day of sleeping in would be
waking up at eight o clock, and the latest she ever slept was nine. Link easily beat that.
"Zelda, you got a lot to learn about Link. He always sleeps in late. I usually do something
mean to wake him up, just like when we dropped him in the stream."
Link yawned. "Yeah, well I'm hungry. I gotta eat something if I'm gonna save Hyrule."
"Okay, I didn't make any lunch because me and Zelda ate breakfast at about 10." Saria
said. Link was mad that he had to get his own lunch.
"Well, I guess I'm going fishing." Link walked home and grabbed a fishing rod. He went to
a small stream and cast the rod. Luck was on his side today, and he caught a fish after about five
minutes. It would make a good lunch. Link went home and grabbed a dagger to gut the fish with.
He went outside and gutted it. He went back to Saria's house and cooked it. He ate the fish very
fast and then he went outside. Now was the time to leave.
Zelda and Saria walked outside. "So Link, are you going to that place in the Desert
Colussus?" Zelda asked.
"Yeah. I think that they want to fight me. They don't plan on tricking me," Link replied.
Zelda and Saria looked sad. They didn't want Link to leave, but they knew that he had to.
"Okay, I guess I'll stay here. Can I stay with you Saria?" Zelda asked.
"Sure, I don't mind," Saria replied.
Zelda looked a little happier. "Okay then, when you get a chance, come back here. We'll
be waiting."
"Yep, I'll remember to come back whenever I get a chance." Link was hoping he wouldn't
be gone long. He climbed the ladder to his house and got attatched his shield and sheath to his
belt. He sheathed the sword. He strapped the quiver over his back and attatched the bow to his
quiver. He left the Kokiri Forest, he was headed towards Gerudo Valley.
