"Cuucooooooooooooo" calls a cucco as the light brings the start of another day of sheer boredom for our hero Link. It seems that ever since our young hero has restored peace to the fair land of Hyrule he has found nothing to do. The sheer excitement of the many near death experiences have left a hole that can only be filled by another exciting adventure. Yet there was none, the land was at peace and all evil rested for ever more. But Link could not sit in boredom forever. He decides to get up and finally leave his house in search for a new adventure, trying to forget the past.
Just as Link is about to take his first step out the door in years, a sharp and horrible pain starts in his head. Link falls to the floor, the sheer pain and the memories of Ganondorf's evil emerged again like in the many years’ past. These memories have been haunting Link for the past five years leading him into a life of solitude, slowly chipping away at his sanity.
Just as the pain subsides and Link begins to regain his stature, Navi flew through the window, a look on her face that could only be a sense of urgency.
"Link!!!!" Navi says as the urgency in her voice increase's "GANONDORF....... HE........HA........" In mid sentence Navi was struck down by a powerful bolt of magic. "Navi!!! Noooooo!!!!" Link rushed over to aid her. Link bent down, reaching his hands out to pick her up. Just as Link is about to pick her up, a sense of danger goes down his spine and he roll's to the left. Just then, a sword slammed down in the exact spot he and Navi were in. The sword which has missed him took the life of his best friend Navi. As link looks up at the holder of the sword he realizes that is Ganondorf. "So, we meet again, foolish child!" Ganondorf says. Link unsheathes his Master Sword and charges at Ganondorf, ready to take his life for what he has done to his beloved friend Navi. Link swings but Ganondorf is too quick for Link. He back flips over Link and grabs him. "Before you attack me, I will show you what happened to the people who thought of you as their hero......." Ganondorf put Links head out of his window to see the utter downfall of Hyrule. The citizens corpses were now strewn all over the once peaceful land. "But... We shall know that you were the object of their destruction."Ganondorf spun around and threw Link into a wall. Then, Ganondorf hurled his sword directly into Link’s stomach, holding him in place. As Ganondorf gazes on at Link with his life slowly draining from his body, he told him "Now Link.........it’s your turn". As he said this, Ganondorf charged at link with his second sword in hand, stabbing him in the fa.... Link sat up from his bed quickly. He grabbed his face and stomach to see if they were still intact. Slowly, he realizes that it was all a dream and he heard a voice in the next room. It sounds like Navi and another person, a person whose voice he does not recognize.
"Doctor, I thank you for coming from Hyrule to our village."
"Oh...pay it no mind. It would be and honor to help the legendary hero of time."
"Doctor I assure you he is not the same hero who saved so many back then."
"Oh....you mean the nightmares."
"Yes.......I fear they get worse and worse every day"
"Yes, yes, yes, it’s sad how the legendary hero, who saved so many, could slowly be turning insane."
Link thought he has heard enough. He put on his clothes, grabbed the Master Sword and Hylian Shield. He slipped out the window without anyone noticing, all the while thinking "I will show them! I am not INSANE! I will find Ganondorf and KILL HIM, ONCE AND FOR ALL"
As Link got farther and farther away from the place he called home, he saw a man pacing around franticly. Link decided this may be a man who could eventually lead him to Ganondorf, so he approaches him.
"Who are you" the stranger asked.
Link simply responded ".........."
"And what's with the green....... the legendary hero of time it is you? I.......I am sorry for how I spoke to you, but could I please have you autograph?
Link nodded in Acceptance as the man pulled out a pen a paper and then handed it over to Link. As he started to sign, a small pain in his head appeared, but he paid it no mind and continued to write. “To my loyal fan, Love Link." Once finished he began to hand the paper back to the man when he realized that the man was Ganondorf and that the corpses of the people of the land were strewn around him. The castle lay in ruins in the distance. "See what happened to the people who thought of you as there hero......." Link pulled out his sword and shield and started to swing at Ganondorf, but he was still to fast and he ran around to Link’s back. Ganondorf stabbed him in the back saying "But... We shall know that you were the object of their destruction." After saying this he pulled his sword back and swung at Link’s hea...........Link woke up, lying in the middle of Hyrule Field. He felt to make sure he was alright, and then looked around to see if every thing is all right. Everything is as it should be except he notices his sword and shield lay on the ground. The sword seems to have a red substance on the blade, and then Link looked up from the blade to see the man who asked him for an autograph lying in a pool of blood. He wasn’t moving. Link thought "How could I........ Wait, Ganondorf DID send a monster out to trick me. He IS here to make me feel bad...... WELL IT WON'T WORK GANONDORF. I WILL GET YOU!!!!” Link grabbed his sword and shield and continued his search for Ganondorf. However, what lied in the pool of blood was a picture of the man and a woman kissing on there wedding day, but Link did not see this and he continued to walk.
As Link stumbled into Hyrule Castle in search of Ganondorf, he saw that all was fine in the market. People were on the streets, having fun and partying, but the horrible pain came back into Link’s head and the memories could not leave his mind. He closed them, hoping the horrible pain would seize. But when he opened his eyes again, all he saw was the evil that has warped his once pure mind. Link thought "I must destroy this evil!!!!!” Link pulled out his sword and dashed down the streets, destroying ever thing evil he could see. However, in his rage of killing every monster and evil thing he saw, he found himself back to the center of Hyrule Castle, where Ganondorf, yet again, confronted him. Link could do no more fighting; all he could do was fall. He fell to his knees and thought "why, why won’t you leave me alone?" Link covered his face to wipe away the tears that had gathered in his eyes. He saw that Hyrule Castle was destroyed and its citizens all dead, but Ganondorf was still standing in front of him. "But... We shall know that you were the object of their destruction.”
The Burdens of Ones Actions by JJS
As Links rage increased and his hatred for Ganondorf began to boil over, he unsheathes the Master Sword and dove at Ganondorf, Lunging the sword right in his heart. Then, he pulls out his sword, spun around and cut Ganondorf’s body in half. Then, he dropped over the body from pure exhaustion, closed his eyes and thought "It is over...... I have finally stopped Ganondorf...............................but at what cost." However, when Link opens his eyes, the one he had stabbed in the heart and cut in half was not Ganondorf, but was in fact Zelda. Link starts to cry and thinks "How could I?" but then his sadness turned into pure and hateful rage against Ganondorf. He screamed "I’LL GET YOU, GANONDORF!!!!” Link stood up, and as he did so, guards rushed over to him and grabbed him. Link struggles to get away, but he cannot break free. As he struggled with the guards, one of their grips loosened enough for him to pull away. He grabbed Din’s Fire from his bag and before the guard can grab hold again, he casts it, burning all the guard's off him. He then unsheathes his sword, ready to fight but it seemed those were the last remaining guards after his delusional rampage. So he sheathed his sword and ran out of the Castle.
Link didn’t know what to do. He had just killed the love of his life, destroyed an entire city and is now on the run. In Link’s mind, there is no hope; there is no reason to go on. He now knew not of good or evil, all he saw was evil now, and he believed himself to be the most evil. He now has no idea what is reality and what is his insanity, but he now knew his only way out: He had to stop the memories of his past. So he traveled to Kakariko Village, where once the people of this little town saw him, they run in fear, for word travel's fast in a small town like this. He made his way to the Death Mountain Road and walked to the highest point in the entire mountain. He stood there, contemplating what to do. "No, it must be done, for what I have done is far too horrible for me to be able to stay here." Link thought. He has made up his mind. He knew what must be done. He took a step back and cast himself off the mountain.
As Link fell, he notices a castle rise from the ground in the distance and he saw Ganondorf standing in front of its gate. As Ganondorf walked in the gate to his castle, Link grabs his Long Shot and shot it on a near by ledge. He slowly made his way down to the base of Death Mountain and ran out of the village. He called Epona and started to ride her towards the giant castle. As he rode, monsters on horseback began to circle him. However, he did not care anymore. People or Monsters they will die for the fact they got in his way. He pulled out his bow and shot a Fire Arrow into the body of the horse, setting the horse and rider on fire. Then he jumped from Epona and landed on an enemy’s horse, pulled out his sword and stabbed the monster in the back and threw him off the horse. He then jumped back to Epona and continued to ride. There are two left, so he shot a regular arrow into the head of the lead horse and it fell, taking out the horse behind him. All the enemies were gone and Link had only a few more yards to the front of the door. Once he arrives he hopped off Epona and stood in front of the door. It started to pour down rain. He opened the door and stepped in, and as it shut behind him, he thought "Finally, it will be over"
Sanity's Awakening by JJS
Once Link was inside, the doors slammed shut behind him. He saw that he must follow the dirt road to get to the castle, but as he ran up the path, he was confronted by a giant gate. Once he saw it, the pain in his head returned. He looked at his surroundings, but all was exactly as it was before so he paid it no mind. He ran back to the door in which he entered, yet, it was not there. It had been replaced by vines. He reached his arm up and pulled on them. They seem sturdy, so he began to climb them. Once he reached the top, there was a path that seemed to lead to the top of the gate. As he reached the gate, a monster on the other side noticed him and charged. Link grabbed him and threw him off the top of the gate, then jumped off. He stabbed the monster in the heart with his sword, killing him. Link then got back up and began to run straight for the castle gate, but this time it is much smaller and has two monsters guarding it. Link pulled out his bow and shot a Fire Arrow at one of the monsters, then a Normal Arrow at the second monster’s head, killing them both. Link then climbed the fence and noticed a river running down the other side, so he followed it. He reached another door and tried to open it, but it was locked. Link pulled out his sword and begins to swing wildly at the door. The door was not able to withstand Links mighty blows and it crumbled. As he stepped in the door, he was confronted by a large stair case which seemed to lead to the next floor. He climbed in the hopes of reaching Ganondorf’s chamber soon.
He climbed the stairs which seemed, to him, would never end. In his mind, it seems he has been walking for hours, but in reality it had only been for a few minutes. As his anticipation grew, seconds turned to minutes in his mind, and minutes to hours, until he reached the door he has been destined to reach his entire life. As he reached for the handle, it occurred to him that this was the last thing he may ever do, fore beyond this door was the enemy that he has been destined to destroy since the beginning of time. This enemy has warped his mind, causing him to destroy all that he held dear. As he turned the handle and opened the door, his gaze is flooded by Ganondorf, who stood waiting as if he had been ready for this moment since birth.
As he stepped on to the floor that will eventually harbor the biggest battle of there life time, the door slammed behind him. It made it even more real knowing he now has no escape. As he unsheathed his Master Sword, the sword that will banish this evil from the world, he realized that Ganondorf has not moved the entire time he has seen him, yet Link didn’t care. He wanted to take Ganondorf’s life for how he had ruined his. Link charged at him, ready to complete his destiny and to finally rid his mind of the evil that has plagued it for so many horrible years. He swung at Ganondorf, who rolled out of the way and slashed Link in the back. Link crashed to the ground, paralyzed for a split second. When he regained his strength, he quickly got back to his feet, ready to continue. Ganondorf now went on the offensive and charged at Link, ready to destroy him and to gain ultimate power of the world. Their swords met with a massive explosion as the two struggled to knock the other’s sword from their hand. As the two struggled with one another, Ganondorf gave one last mighty push and knocked link off balance, giving Ganondorf enough time to thrust his sword in Links stomach. Ganondorf began to laugh as he has just destroyed the only person who was in the way of his conquest to rule Hyrule. However, with the last bit of strength Link had, he swung his sword at Ganondorf, cutting his throat and forcing him to fall backwards. He dropped Link to the ground with the sword still in his stomach. As Link looked at his fallen foe, he realized that it is not Ganondorf who lies before him dead, but was the King of Hyrule. Off in the distance, he heard Ganondorf’s laughter as he yelled "HA HA HA.........but you and I will know you as there eventual demise". Just then, monsters engulfed his body and started eating his fle... Link jumped up with a gasp. He felt to make sure he is ok. He realized he was in bed, and he felt movement to the left of him. As he looked over, he notices Zelda roll over and say "Did you have another bad dream, dear?"
