Prologue by Incognito
The fog was really thick that night in the forest. It was thicker than usual, especially since the sky was clear of any bad weather that would cause such a dramatic change from the usual fog that served its purpose along with the misleading tunnels of hiding Kokiri Village.
Saria stared out at the forest, her brows furrowed in confusion at the amount of fog.
"Something is wrong here."
She put her hand to one of the trees, hoping to sense something.
There was a noise in the bushes by the temple.
"Hello?"
Saria walked over to the bush. The noise stopped as soon as she stood in front of it.
"Someone in there?"
It happened so fast, she almost didn't recognize that it was a person and not one of many monsters that inhabited the forest.
It leaped out of the bush and over her head.
"Mido! You scared me."
Midos back facing her, she could still feel how menacing his presence was. The air thickened as he just stood there, his aura was off and she felt threatened. She backed away as slowly as possible just as he started to turn. She hadn't even taken more than three steps when he was suddenly on top of her, putting all his weight to hold her down.
"Sar.....Saria."
Her scream echoed throughout the forest but died down enough for no one to hear.
She wiggled out as he began chokiing and sprinted into the vast trees trying to reach Kokiri Village.
She stopped running when she heard a branch break in front of her.
"Mido? Whats wrong with you?"
He stepped out from behind a tree, a strange smile played upon his lips as he approached her. The air around him became so cold that his breathing became visible in the form of smoke, and it was raspy and quick.
She looked around frantically for some sign of escaping him.
"Sar...Saria." He sprung at her again and this time there would be no escape, as he made her breathe his air in.
Possession by Incognito
She smiled to herself, even though she could see nothing, she knew it would be worthwhile, as was all his surprises. And she never questioned his intentions, she trusted him with her life. Everytime they go out on his spur of the moment adventures, she had to disguise herself, a lady of her stature and ranking was not to be beyond the castle walls.
He held her hand and gently pulled her through the bushes and tunnels that he knew so well, and checked from time to time on her blind fold. Her smile warmed his heart and made his skin hot. he was often surprised at the amount of trust she had for him, and was grateful to have it.
Although it was pointless she asked, "Link, where are we going?"
He squeezed her hand but said nothing as they finally reached their destination.
"Okay Princess, remove your blind fold."
She reached up to remove it, when he leaned over and whispered, "You're a very special person to everyone...Especially to me." in her ear and placed a light kiss on her cheek. She froze for a second as her cheeks became pink, then proceeded in removing the blind fold.
"SURPRISE!" Called out the all the kokiri.
Zelda squealed in delight and utter shock. She gave Link a quick squeeze as Link signaled for the celebration to begin.
The music was loud and uplifting, but something was in the air, Zelda couldn't quite put her finger on it but something was up, but it was quickly dismissed as she was pulled out to dance around the bonfire.
Link sat down and watched as as she circled the fire, twirling and laughing with the kokiri, smiling so broadly her eyes seemed closed.
They were constantly making eye contact as she continued to dance and he conversed with a few of the kokiri.
He felt fortunate enough to be in her company every so often, if it wasn't for the whole Hero of time bit so many years ago, he'd have never been able to attain the closeness that they have, a connection with someone as pure and beautiful as she was. She was always on his mind, she's what brings him back from his various travels in Hyrule.
Even though he wasn't sure of his future with her, he reveled in the time they spent now in the present and tried not to think to much on the future.
It was finally time for the grand feast, anything that could be imagined was on that table. Zelda made her way to the table and sat directly across from Link.
The food was plentiful and all had their fill of it.
Zelda excused herself from the table after exchanging a glance with Link.
She leaned on a tree with her eyes closed listening for the sounds of the creatures in the forest, there were none surprisingly.
She stood straight up immediately, perplexed by her discovery.
She paused for a second to listen for some form of presence of the many creatures that inhabited the forest but still heard nothing. She started walking deeper into the forest and stopped when she heard a twig break from behind. She turned on her heal as fast as possible bow and arrow aimed at her assailant.
Only to find Link standing there.
"I concede princess." He said holding up his hands.
She apologized and put her bow and arrow away, forgetting for the moment why she was walking away from the village.
He backed away and leaned on a tree and stared up at the moon, it was a deep shade of red.
Zelda mimicked his action and too became entranced by the moon, so much so she didn't notice Link standing in front of her. She jumped away in surprise and giggled in embarassment.
They stood there and stared into each others eyes not once dropping their gaze from one another as they walked foward in unison. She placed her hands on the back of his neck, as he pulled her close and took his eyes off hers to look at her mouth for a moment then resumed his stare. They leaned into each other just as screams pierced the quiet forest. It came from the kokiris direction. They sprinted through the trees as fast as possible.
The fire was out but the glow from the Kokiris eyes kept the dark out, as they cried tears of blood.
Lunarcy I tell You! by Incognito
In the center of the group stood Saria and Mido. They had smiles on their faces, not the happy kind.
"Saria, what's going on?" Link asked stepping forward.
She started to run around in circles, her laughing echoing eerily throughout the forest.
Link left his sword in its sheath, nothing would get him to use it against what once was his family.
They began to approach them, sharp rocks were held in their hands as they suddenly lunged at them.
Link swerved out of the way as much as he could keeping Zelda behind him as he did so.
"Zelda, I can't..."
"I know." She pulled him toward their horses hoping to escape a violent confrontation, that wasn't necessary.
"I don't know what exactly is going on but it is'nt anything good." Link stated as they reached a horse and found that the other horse was missing.
Link jumped on his and pulled Zelda up in front of him.
"No time to search for the horse. Sorry Princess, I think it's important we reach the castle."
Zelda sat silently, involved in her thoughts.
Link looked at her from time to time but said nothing.

...He peered out his balcony window listening to the strange noises coming from town. it sounded like screaming but he couldn't be sure.
"Guards!"
The ones standing post at his doors entered.
"Go into town and see what's going on."
They nodded and exited in a hurry.
Ten minutes passed and all went silent and dark in town.
The King peeked into the hallway to find it completely deserted.
"Guards!" it just echoed off the walls.
He went back to the balcony but could see nothing but the red moon in the sky.
"What is going on?" he muttered to himself.
He paced back and forth for another ten minutes or so when he decided to take a chance and leave the safety of his castle.
He stepped out of his room as a few guards came from down the hall, their faces hidden in their armor.
"What the devil is happening?"
They kept their pace until they saw him standing there.
"What is happening in town?" He yelled as they quickened their pace.
He just watched as they came upon him with no sign of relent.
They plied him to the floor, he screamed in surprise.
"What are you doing?!"
Through their masked faces white smoke escaped from the openings and onto the kings face, forcing him to enhale it.

...They reached the castle to find the gate closed and the torches unlit. But no sounds came from behind the gate.
"Open the gates! it's Princess Zelda!" She called out.
Link put his hand over her mouth to signal for her to be quiet.
"What is it Link?" She whispered quietly.
"I sense something is going on but I don't know what."
She looked at the posts where the guards usually stood. Then she looked up at the blood red moon.
"Princess....Zelda..." He touched her hand and she looked at him.
"Are you okay?" He asked noticing the blank look on her face.
She snapped out of it.
"I'm sorry. I don't know what happened to...." She stopped midsentence as she heard the bridge come down.
Link pulled her behind him as he unsheathed his sword and waited to see who'd opened the door.
They were met with darkness. no one stood there and no torches were lit in the town.
"It doesn't feel right Link."
He nodded in agreement but kept silent as they walked to the entrance of the kingdom.
They treaded softly over the bridge and into town.
No buildings were visible because it was so dark, only the glow from the castle lit their way.
"I don't understand what's going on, and i'm not sure we really want to know." Link whispered.
"Link where are all the townspeople?"
That's a good question, Link thought to himself.
They continued on until Link nearly fell after slipping on a puddle of what he thought was water.
He dipped his finger in it and brought it to his face, feeling its thickness between his fingers.
"Blood." He said loudly.
Zelda clamped her hand over his mouth and pulled him into an alley.
"Someone's coming." She said taking her hand from his mouth and pointing in the direction of a torch approaching from the castle roadway.
They watched quietly as a castle guard neared their spot, his torch giving light to the ground and showing even more bloodstains.
"Midnight is close! All to bed!" He called out after having fallen asleep in a barrel by the castle gates.
Then footsteps could be heard, they were quick, almost frantic.
The guard swung around in time to catch sight of the townspeople running toward him, clothes ripped to shreds and covered in blood. They circled him and stared up at the moon.
"To bed! What happened?" He said alarmed, fearing he'd missed an attack on the castle.
They were laughing and dancing about then one of the men smacked the torch to the ground as the others jumped the guard and began tearing him to shreds.
Link held Zelda tightly to his chest as the guards screams echoed throughout the town.
He pulled her to the ladder by their side as the guards screams finally died down and came to an end.
"I'm sorry Princess but I can't slaughter them, there was no other way without putting you in danger." He said apoligetically.
"I didn't expect you to Link. But we need to find out what's going on. I have a feeling that that red moon has something to do with it." She said as they climbed onto the roof.
They stood there and looked up at the moon before continuing roof to roof.
Are you Looney? by Incognito
He grabbed her by the waist, and held her tight as he used his hook shot to get them off the last roof and over the castle gate, to the side entrance. They fell lightly on the grassy area.
“We have to find my father.” Zelda whispered as they stayed low to the ground and made their way to the door.
“Don’t worry, we’ll find him.” Link said as he squeezed her hand reassuringly.
They went through the door and found the hallway unlit and very quiet.
“Zelda I think it’ll be safer for us to be quiet.” He whispered in her ear before they continued on.
She turned her face too quickly, their lips almost touching.
“Alright.” She said feeling her face get hot and turning away.
He stared at her for a moment then started walking.
They searched each room but found no one, only speckles of blood.
Then a loud scream emitted from down the corridor.
Zelda stood stock still as she recognized the voice.
“Father!” She cried out as she sprinted down the hall.
Link went to grab for her arm but missed.
She disappeared into the darkness.
He ran as fast as he could after her.
There were no sounds everything had went unexpectedly quiet.
He walked into the first room he reached and found Zelda passed out on the floor.
“Zelda?!” he whispered holding her in his arms and trying to wake her.
He heard a sound and looked up quickly.
He felt the contents in his stomach rise to his throat but controlled the urge.
There were pieces of flesh all over the floor and increasing with each tear at his face.
“King Harkinian what are you doing?” Link asked in shock.
The King turned slowly; most of his face was in his hands.
Zelda stirred in his arms then opened her eyes as her father started to laugh uncontrollably.
“Link he’s crazy…everyone is crazy…what is going on?”
He lifted her into his arms and left the room.
“What are we going to do Link?” Zelda asked a she rested her tear stained face on his shoulder.
“I don’t know…I really don’t know…we’ll go to the temple of light and talk to Rauru..”
Footsteps sounded behind them.
He went into the next room and onto the balcony.
“Hold on Princess.”
He held her tightly took out his hook shot and jumped off.
Not you too! by Incognito
They landed on the ground hard.
Link had to take a moment to shake it off as Zelda stared sadly at the castle.
"Don't worry Princess. if any one can make sense of it it's Rauru."
She nodded half-heartedly.
They kept close to the walls as they watched groups of people pass by,making sure to keep quiet.
Link grabbed her hand as they ran through the gate leading back to town when they heard a whimper coming from a barrel.
Link unsheathed his sword and left Zelda on the dirt road.
"Who's there?" He said holding on tightly to the sword.
"Fairy Boy?" questioned the voice from the barrel.
"Malon is that you?" he asked back as he put his sword away.
She jumped out and embraced him.
"oh Link! Everyone has gone crazy!" She cried.
He let her cry for a few more minutes then pulled her off a little to look at her face.
"You okay?"
She breathed heavily and put on a small smile.
"I was coming to wake my father up when all the townspeople started to chase me....."
(Flashback)...She shook her head and walked toward the entrance to the castle.
"Father when will you learn." She sighed.
She heard the sound of people running and turned quickly.
She sensed something was amiss and ran into the barrel by the door.
They stopped running and started looking about then at the moon.
She heard someone yawning right beside her, she looked through the wholoe and found her father stretching as he was exiting the castle.
"Malon is going to have my head...." he saw them approaching.
"Did Malon send out a search party?"
They leaped onto him and kept at it till he no longer moved.
She started crying again after she explained what had happened.
"Come with us Malon. We're on our way to see Rauru and find out what exactly is happening here."
She noticed Zelda and ran over to hug her as she continued to cry.
Zelda held onto her consoling her before they went on into town.
"Everyone be quiet." Link said to them as they creeped into town.
No one was around it seemed that they'd all went to the castle.
"Now we're going to make a run for the temple. So keep up."
They took one last look around then sprinted toward the temple.
"Link I hear something behind us!" Zelda called out as she held her dress up and ran.
"Just run!" He yelled as he grabbed both their hands in each of his.
The sounds of laughter and running could be heard behind them.
"We're gonna jump up these last stairs on three...1...2...3!" He said as they leaped up in unison and pushed through the doors.
Link looked around for something to put in the door handles.
He grabbed a long gold candle stick holder and slid it through the handles.
They ran up to the stand that once held the Master Sword.
Zelda took out her Ocarina and played the her melody.
"Rauru!" She called out.
There was a low cackle resounding in the temple.
"Rauru we need your help, please!"
The cackling continued and grew louder till it was deafening.
They held their hands over thier ears.
"What is it Princess Zelda?" Rauru asked his cackling died down.
"What is going on?"
He started to laugh again and his apparition appeared before them spinning away in midair.
"Not you too!" Zelda cried.
Malon had Link explain to her who Rauru was.
"Oh." She said and looked at him as he stopped spininng and floated downward.
Link pulled Zelda toward him as Rauru approached.
"Get out....GET OUT!" He screamed as he disappeared.
"What are we going to do Link?" Malon asked as she watched the door starting to give way.
"I'm not sure...everything is out of balance..so we'll go talk to the great deku tree baby..." He started to look for another way out when the candlestick holder finally gave way and snapped as the doors were thrown open.
"Ganon!" They yelled in shock.
