This chapter may say it was written by Beat, but I admit that I only edited it. Mad was the one who wrote this.
He'd managed to escape that boy, but not without a memory being seared across his left cheek. However, despite the boy knowing his evil intentions, he still maintained his position in the castle. A position that had some authority, but not enough.
As he followed his King to a meeting with military generals and advisors, discussing the rise of a new threat. This threat had amassed a powerful army of stalfos and other skeletal beings. This threat had manipulated a much trusted guard who had yet to be knighted by the King. This threat also seemed to have seven generals of his own. All of this, he was told beforehand when he talked with several advisors.
Still, this threat sparked his interest. The man's evil plans started flowing into his mind and he knew what he had to do. After this meeting, he would swiftly set his plan into motion...
All of Hyrule now knew of his power and soon all of Hyrule would be his. He could not keep still, as his greed grew evermore his patience would wear thinner.
He sent for one of his most loyal and trusted subjects. He gave him a mission and sent him on his way. He was to distract the boy, who had been a thorn in his backside for years, and his little 'army'. He would do this in order to complete an important step in his plan and the throne of Hyrule would almost certainly be his.
He leaned back on his throne and relaxed, comfortable knowing that the mission would be completed successfully.
After a few minutes of relaxing, a soldier burst into his room and told him that he had a visitor. The said visitor walked in not long after. He had an aura of confidence and arrogance around him. He also sensed that this man was powerful. He beckoned him to come forth and told the soldier to leave the room. They would have a meeting...
Chapter 1: Old Enemies, New Allies by MadSkillz
Author's Notes:
Remastering the first story...again. With the help of my friend Beat15 of course.
*It may say that I (Beat15) wrote this. That is false. Madskillz wrote a majority of this chapter.
*MadSkillz: I was going to edit my descriptions for Finn and Leia because I didn't think I pictured their age properly so, I will say that they are both 18.
Finn paid no attention to the work he was doing. He was thinking too much about he had failed. He swept with little effort, barely moving any hay in the stables. He hated it. He hated the ranch and the animals. He was never good with them and he always felt like he did not belong. On top of that, he loathed himself for failing his mission. It burned like a fire in his heart. That time...
***
Finn trudged through the long leaved bushes and low hanging branches of Tristogan. There was a neverending sea.of fog that made it had for him to see his way. On top of that, he started becoming paranoid. He thought he could hear things moving in the bushes around him and he thought he could see things darting past him.
A hand grabbed his shirt and pulled him closer until he could see the face of who grabbed him.
"Snap out of it boy!" The man screamed and slapped him. Finn instantly came to his senses.
"Thanks Drake," Finn said as he rubbed his cheek.
"You must keep a strong mind, this island does not show mercy to the weak," Drake replied. "Come, we are almost there."
They trudged onwards, for nearly half an hour, until they came to a large cave blocked off by a huge stone with glowing runic inscriptions covering it. An aura of darkness was emanating from it. It made Finn nervous.
"Finn, give me your hand," Drake ordered. Finn hesistantly brought his hand to Drake. He slit Finn's palm and drew some blood. He brought the blood to the rock and smeared it on.
Drake suddenly teleported above the rock. "I must thank you Finn," Drake smiled, darkly. "Without you getting me all those items, I would've never been able to free Lord Drazo." Drake summoned a bow and threw it to Finn. "I will keep my end of the bargain as thanks for all the help you have given me," He said. "It is made from Tristogan tree wood. It is said that the person who made that bow went completely insane."
He began to chant.
Finn knew he had to act. He grabbed the bow from the ground. He did not use it straight away because of the lack of arrows he had. A few moments passed and he knew that the seal was getting weaker. He pulled back on the string, charging an arrow of many different colours. He took aim. As he was about to let the arrow fly, Drake started distorting and so did the scenery.
He saw creatures rising up from the ground and the sky turned blood red. Finn tried to focus, the creatures disappeared and the sky returned to its normal colour, however the distortion was slowly wearing off. He wasted no time. He let the arrow fly and dropped the bow immediately. The arrow cut through Drake's left cheek. It wasn't enough. Drake finished his chanting and teleported himself to the entrance of the cave.
"Farewell,'Chosen' hero," Drake laughed as he walked into the cave.
Finn ran away from that place and onto the ship they used to sail to Tristogan. He ordered the crew to return to Hyrule and they obeyed without question. All the while he could not live with the fact that he failed...

No longer being able to withstand doing his boring work, he burst out of the stables. Much to the surprise of his sister, Malon, who was about to check on how he was doing.
"Finn! What are you-" Malon started but she could not finish off her sentence. She saw a variety of emotions on Finn's face and eyes. Self-loathing, hatred, guilt. He stood with fists clenched and jaw firm.
After a moment of silence he darted inside the main house building. Not long after, he came out with a rucksack, a bow and a sword by his side. Malon knew what was happening so she quickly threw her arms around him, burying her face in his chest. Her face was a sea of tears and she blubbered her words.
She looked at his face, eventually and saw that she could not convince him to stay. She let go. Finn started to leave once more after giving a quick goodbye.
Aimlessly, he wandered. He had awoken in a lake after a disaster had struck him and his family. Skeletal beings had fallen out of a rift in the sky. They attacked his village and they were swiftly overcame. He was knocked into the village well where he noticed some light emanating from the bottom. He swam toward the light for so long that he passed out and when he awoke he was in unfamiliar territory.
He went from the lake into a vast green scenery with a building far off into the distance, a desert to his left and a forest to his right. He followed the long dirt path until he near the building.
He heard the sound of a large plant being plucked from the ground. He turned around and saw a plant-like thing with spinning blades around its circumference. Its roots were tied together in the center, underneath the plant. It came straight for him and he ran as fast he could, screaming for help.
He bumped into a young man who appeared to be eighteen. He had rugged brown hair that almost matched the colour of the ground. He was taller than him, just by a little. He had a weapon by his side and a bow in his hand. His green eyes were full of hate and part insanity as he looked up at the monster. He pulled back on the string of the bow, amazing the young man as he did not have an arrow attached to it.
The man shot a beam of energy which passed through the roots of the monster and out of its body. The monster fell to the ground, limp and dissipated.
The lost young man, amazed at what happened looked the other. He felt drawn to stay with him and he sensed a man as lost as he was, despite his outward appearance and body language. "Can I stick with you? I am not from around here and need someone to stay with, to guide me. Also, I have a feeling you are lost but not like how I am," Lukas analysed. The other man looked at him and nodded.
"My name is Finn and I'm heading towards Castle Town. Maybe you could help me with some behests," Finn replied with a small smile.
"Anything is better than wandering around, lost," Lukas said, relieved.
A thief ran from his pursuer, trying to go down twists and turns in the alleyways of the Castle Town. He fell to the ground in agony, for an arrow had struck his leg. He turned around only to see a arrow aimed for his face. The thief cowered in fear.
"You steal without hesitation yet here you are, cowering in fear," The pursuer said. "You are to return everything you stole or else you will see yourself face to face with the Goddesses."
The thief nodded and ran from his sight.
The pursuer headed back to his place outside Castle Town. It was not visible to the naked eye, only those with shiekah eyes could see through the illusion. He entered his hideout. There were books thrown around; on tables, chairs, shelvesYou and a few on the floor. Some scrolls were strewn about on tables too.
"Leia! I thought I told you to clean up!" The man called.
A young woman entered the room. Her hair reached to her shoulders and it was dark brown. Her eyes were red, showing that she was of Shiekah descent, however, her tan skin and moderate beauty expressed that she may be of Gerudo descent too. "Honestly Arthur, you really thought I would clean up? After all these years you've known me," Leia answered.
Arthur sighed and shook his head. She always did this. "I'll clean up then," Arthur decided. "Because I don't want you around to mess up any more, go and do a royal behest."
"As you wish," Leia yawned and left the hideout.
"Sometimes I wonder why I saved her," Arthur muttered.
"But Richard! That sounds boring!" Beat moaned as he followed Richard into the castle town. "We already help random strangers everywhere we go. I thought the whole idea of having the Sages Army split up was so we could train, not do behests."
Richard sighed and continued walking. He didn't want to pay attention to Beat's whining. "If you wanted to train you should've gone off with Will. He is your best friend after all."
"But he isn't dependable like you. Plus I get to have you cook for me." Beat yawned. "Now, like I was saying earlier..." Beat paused to take a deep breath, "IT'S BORING!"
"Grimsley!" Richard barked.
"Mellow?" Beat calmly replied.
"Shut up. Ugh, to think I thoght Gwen would be the worst to travel with." Richard sighed.
"That's hurtful. We're at the stupid board. Look it's crowded, let's go." Beat yawned.
Richard looked at the one Gerudo standing at the board, then looked to Beat. "One person is a crowd now?"
Beat shrugged and started walking towards the castle. "Why not just ask Zelda for a job?"
"Because I'm sure the princess has better things to do than entertain you. I grabbed a job, let's go." Richard stated dragging Beat off.
"But it sounds so boring!" Beat moaned as he was dragged off.
Drake sat at his desk, trying to think of ways to earn his new allies' trust. He could give Skull King his own world, but that would be too simple. What was the name of that boy that was always stopping Skull King? Grimsley?
"Guards!" Drake barked.
Two guards entered the office and stood to attention.
"Tell me what you know about this Grimsley boy." he ordered.
"Beat Grimsley, a young man, about seventeen years old." stated the guard on the left.
"He has started this band of travelers that call themselves the Sages' Army. They recently split apart as a means to train since they recently defeated a massive assault from the Skull King." added the guard on the right.
"That's all I need to know. Fetch me Detective Barry, I need his help with something." he laughed.
The two gaurds nodded and marched out of the room in search of Barry.
"What are you planning?" hissed a voice in Drake's head.
"Lord Drazo, if I am to gain Skull King's trust, I have to do something he could never do. I'll get rid of Grimsley, banish him to another world and then kill off this army of his, one at a time." Drake laughed. "Then I'll start trying to split the Army of Bones apart, and have them fight amongst themselves. I only bow to one being, and that is you."
"My patience grows thinner. What exactly is he doing?" roared Skull King in a raspy voice.
"Onua is sailing the waters of the Rift, searching for a source of new soldiers. Clovis is off to take care of Grimsley. Jacob and Edmund are training. Dimitri is working on new armor, and Anise is off on her secret task." reported Xela, Skull King's loyal general. She pushed her green hair aside and sighed. "As for your new ally, I'm not completely sure. If it pleases you, I will begin to follow him, and see if he is planning on staying loyal."
"Do so." Skull King ordered. "I trust that traitorous Jacob more than Drake."
Chapter 2. Trivial Tasks by Beat15
"Uggh, Richard!" Beat groaned as he dragged his feet towards the castle gates. "Of all the jobs you chose debris removal?"
"There was a storm recently. Some trees were knocked against the walls so we have to clear them in order to prevent anyone from sneaking the castle town." Richard explained. "Besides, you'll finish it quickly. Just burn it."
Beat brightened up at the mention of fires. "Oh Richard, you do care." Beat laughed.
"For the love of Nayru! Are there any decent jobs?" Leia groaned as she continued to search for a behest worthy of her skill.
She had watched four groups come and go, leaving with a job she had passed up on. She was starting to consider abandoning the search and head back to help Arthur clean.
As she turned to head home she noticed a fresh post. She spotted a pair of boys walking towards the board. She looked back to the post and saw it was nothing more than collecting mushrooms. She sighed and started walking away.
That's when she found the perfect job.
Lukas followed Finn into the town occasionally stopping to stare at some of the goods offered in Hyrule that he had never heard of. He managed to convince Finn to buy him a bag of bombchus, promising to let Finn have the larger share of the behest they finish.
As they approached the board he noticed a strange girl looking for a job and considered asking Finn if they should help her. He decided against it.
"Any good jobs?" Lukas asked, looking at the board.
"Hmm, not yet. These all seem stupid. 'Chase down milk thief', 'Find my Cuccoos', 'Clear moblin camp'..." Finn paused mentally registering what he just said, "Clear moblin camp?!? That's perfect, let's see, 'near castle wall, hidden in thicket of trees, reward of five...f.FIVE THOUSAND RUPEES?" He gasped at the sum, and thought of what he could do with that money.
Finn turned away and started planning on hiring people to expose Drake, so he didn't notice the girl walking up to take the post.
"Finn, um, Finn?" Lukas called, trying to get his new friends attention.
"What Lukas?" Finn sighed.
"Do you need the paper with the task on it to do it?"
"Yeah, that way people don't waste their time trying to do it when it isn't needed anymore." Finn explained.
"We'll I guess she is gonna get rid of those moblin-things. She just took the post." Lukas stated.
"What?" Finn groaned. He looked at the board and saw the post was gone. "Hey you! Gerudo girl!"
She stopped dead in her tracks and looked back at him, her red eyes burning with anger.
"What?" She snapped.
"I was gonna do that job!" Finn growled.
"You? You're just a child. Go back to the farm where you came from." The girl spat.
Finn gritted his teeth and stepped closer to her. "I can show you who's a child. That job isn't suitable for a..."
"I swear to Din if you say a girl I'll snap your arm so you can't use that bow." She hissed.
"Try it thief-girl!" Finn growled unsheathing his sword.
As Arthur cleaned he heard the rustling of leaves outside. He looked through a peak hole to see a group of moblins headed towards the woods. He laughed as he found an excuse to stop cleaning. As he went to get his bow he heard voices.
"Beat where are you going? The debris is back that way!"
"Yeah I know, but I thought I saw something. I'm gonna go check it out."
"I swear if you're making this up..."
"I'm not Richard, relax."
Arthur looked back through the hole to see two boys headed in the direction of the moblins. He noticed a sword on the older looking boy's belt while the other had a knife in his. He sighed and resumed cleaning. Those two looked capable enough.
"Barry, my trusted enforcer, I have a job for you." Drake stated, his back to the detective.
"Yes Drake. What do you need done?"
"While I deal with the Sages' Army I'd like you to find a crime to accuse the vigilante of doing and hunt him down. Kill his pet mutt too." Drake ordered, turning to face Barry.
"The girl?" Barry asked, trying to confirm his orders.
"Yes that Shiekah-Gerudo girl. That pairing is bound to bring a strong fighter and I don't want to deal with that kind of problem. Kill Arthur and the girl."
"Yes sir." Barry nodded.
"Oh, but before you go I think I should have armed with better equipment. Gather your men, I'll meet with you all shortly." Drake added. "I believe Skull King should have something your men could use."
Leia knew who she was talking to. He was Arthur's son, and he didn't seem much like his father. She didn't want to be near him, especially if he was like most Hylians and believed every Gerudo was a thief.
When he drew his sword she quickly drew her knife, ready to disarm but not harm, just as Arthur had taught her.
"You made a big mistake farm boy." She laughed.
"Wait!" Cried the boy that was with Finn. "We don't need to fight over this! We could all work together."
"I'm not working with him!" She spat, just as Finn said the very same about her.
"Think about it. Both of you say the other is unable to do this task. Why not make a contest of it? Whoever gets rid of the most gets the better half of the reward."
"That may work..." Leia agreed. "Fine. I'm Leia, in case you didn't know I had a name, farm boy."
"Finn, this is Lukas." Finn growled.
"Let's go, the sooner we finish this the sooner you two can get away from each other!" Lukas called as he ran towards the gate.
"Are you sure that's all you need?" Asked Skull King's blacksmith.
"A new blade and simple armor that can be worn under a suit is all they need. They'll be dealing with an archer, not an army." Drake laughed. "I take it you're one of the King's Sins."
"Correct, I'm Dimitri, and I hold the title of Gluttony." nodded the Sin.
"I see, and you don't seem to be a native of Hyrule, may I guess you come from Jinlax, our closest neighboring kingdom?" Drake asked.
"Yes sir, now I must return to my work." Dimitri nodded.
"Well what do you know? You aren't crazy." Richard sighed as he spotted the moblins his friend had mentioned.
"Yeah, and they're using the debris we're supposed to clear to build some kind of mobile ramp." Beat growled pointing out the trees stacked upon a cart. "Shall I start fires?"
"Not yet, they'll attack if we burn their cart." Richard warned.
"We can handle them." Beat argued.
"Not without burning down the whole forest." Richard hissed.
Beat calmed down, seeing Richard's point. "Fine, I'll wait. Until we make a new plan."
Leia didn't like working with Finn. Especially since Arthur may swoop in to reclaim him as his son.
"Leia, how did you know I was from a farm?" Finn asked suspiciously.
"You're attire was one reason. Another is that I saw you arrive in town before with Talon." Leia yawned. "Quiet, we're close. I can hear moblins."
Finn and Lukas hushed themselves listened for the creatures. They looked confused until they heard the shouts of the moblins.
The group then saw a raging fire in a clearing, burning a cart filled with trees. Leia ran in with her knife drawn, quickly taking out three as Finn picked off the ones fleeing the fire. Leia noticed a Gerudo boy standing in front of the fire, waving his arms trying to make it go out. A guard had found Lukas and started keeping moblins away from him. She hadn't expected this when she decided to fight moblins.
When all the monsters were gone the unusual pair introduced themselves.
"I'm the one responsible for that fire. I'm Beat Grimsley." Greeted the Gerudo.
"I'm Richard Mellow." Sighed the guard. "You came at a good time. My friend had just lost his patience and almost burned the forest down."
"Well I... Yeah, if you three hadn't kept the moblins busy I wouldn't have been able to stave off the flames. Thanks for your help."
"What brought you two out here?" Lukas asked.
"The behest board. We were gonna clear the debris from the recent storm. Then Beat noticed the moblins and found their camp. That cart he burned had all the trees that had fallen. So we did our job. What brought you three?" Richard explained.
"Same thing, different behest." Finn replied.
"We were going to get rid of the moblins." Leia added.
"Well we got all our jobs done. Let's go claim our rewards." Beat yawned. "Then I can resume my boredom."
Leia fought the urge to laugh, recalling the moaning she had heard when she was at the board.
"Do we owe you any of the moblin reward?" Lukas asked.
"No. We don't need it. We could probably give you all of our reward. We have amassed a small fortune used solely for renting rooms." Beat yawned. "But we recently started staying with a friend. Isn't she expecting us?"
"That's right! Here take our behest and claim the reward. We've gotta hurry!" Richard gasped.
The guard grabbed his friend and took off towards the castle town. Leia held the page the guard pressed into her hand. When she looked at the reward she gasped. It was two thousand rupees, she folded it up and started walking back to the castle town.
"I'll meet you two back in town. I've gotta take care of some business." Leia called over her shoulder.
"Now what are you staring at Grimsley?" Richard groaned feeling Beat come to a stop.
Beat focused on the wall to the castle town. Something was hidden, and well too. It had been some time since he had seen Shiekah techniques being used to hide something.
"There's a cottage of some sort, hidden with Shiekah magic." Beat whispered.
"Oh, it's you two again." Leia said in surprise as she approached the pair.
"You're half Shiekah, right?" Beat asked.
"Yes, why?" Leia asked nervously.
"Can you see anything on that wall?" Beat asked seriously.
"No, why?" Leia replied quickly, too quickly for Beat's liking.
"I thought I saw something. Guess my Shiekah training is getting rusty. I'm seeing things." Beat laughed. "C'mon Richard, Zelda is waiting."
When he had dragged Richard to the drawbridge leading to town he stopped.
"She's hiding something." Beat growled. "There is something in that cottage and I'm gonna find out."
"Do it tonight, after we've met the princess. She never calls us without something important to say."
"Clovis, how did you manage to do nothing when you spotted Grimsley?" Skull King hissed at his general.
Clovis pushed a stray black hair aside as he yawned. "I overheard him saying he was going to visit the princess. I figured I should report to you, then we could do something seeing as we have someone inside the castle now."
"Oh, that'd be fun." Drake laughed appearing from behind Skull King's throne. "I'll meet the pair outside, and lead them through the hallways to a room full of my guards. Then Sloth here could grab her and bring her here."
Skull King laughed as he nodded. "Do it, I shall have a piece of the Triforce."
Chapter 3: Traitors by MadSkillz
Zelda was soon tired of waiting for Beat and Richard to meet her. She paced around the large room and around the long rectangular table. After a while, she picked a chair at the end of the table and sat down in it.
"Aryu!" She called. A tall, Gerudo woman came out of the shadows wearing the normal Gerudo outfit. She carried her sword-staff with her.
"Yes, my Princess?" Aryu answered, kneeling before her.
"Wait outside for our guests and direct them here when they come," Zelda ordered.
"No need for that, Princess."
Standing in the doorway was Drake with a man next to him. They walked down the steps towards them and Drake faced Aryu.
"The King wishes to speak with you, Gerudo," Drake said and turned to Zelda. "I shall take care of the duty." Zelda felt unnerved with Drake next to her. She felt unnerved whenever his prescene was nearby. She was also unsure about who this other man was with Drake, however, she wanted him gone, quickly.
"Very well, see to it that they arrive here,"
"Yes, my princess. However, my...associate, Clovis, will stay with you. He will protect you, I'm sure," Drake replied and left the room with Aryu, who gave Zelda a look that seemed to question her decision. She sighed as she waited for Beat and Richard.
Leia let out a breath she didn't know she was holding in. She almost had their hideout exposed to a stranger. Next time, she knew she would have to keep herself calm. She walked into the Castle Town to hand in the reward for the behest. As she was walking, she saw someone take something from one the stalls without the keeper knowing. She decided to follow the person. They moved around the town and into the poorer part that citizens called 'the shanty'. There, many citizens were poor and lived in poverty. The streets also showed the change. The path became dirtier and dirtier as you went deeper. The houses were poorly made and looked as if they would fall apart at any moment. There was also a distinct, bad smell that lingered around the whole of the shanty. The person walked into the shanty and went down several twists and turns. They turned a corner and...collapsed. Leia saw this and quickly rushed over to them. There was a hole in his chest and blood was pouring out of him at an alarming rate. She knew that they were killed. She looked around and saw the bloodied weapon. It was a short sword. She picked it up, inspecting it. When suddenly she was grabbed by two of the Hyrule Police Department.
"What's going on?!" Leia shouted as she struggled to get free from their grasp. "You are arrested for murder of an innocent civilian. Come with us." One commanded.
"Never!" Leia roared and freed herself from their grasp. She darted back the way she came. One policeman smiled at the other.
"Just like Drake suspected, Lewis," He said.
"Indeed, Malcolm," Lewis replied and they chased after her.
Finn and Lukas arrived at the Castle Town, hoping to get the reward for their behest. As they walked, they saw Leia running away from two policemen in hot pursuit.
"Move it, Farm boy!" She shouted to avail as she bumped into them and they collapsed. The policemen, laughing, walked towards them.
"Nice try, Gerudo," Malcolm laughed, reaching to grab Leia. An arrow hit him in the shoulder. As soon as the arrow came, so did the man who fired it. He quickly took down Malcolm and Lewis. "I tell you get a behest and this is what happens?!" Arthur questioned.
"No it wasn't..." Leia started but then shot a death glare at Finn. "It was his fault that I was nearly captured." Arthur looked at his son and smiled. Then, he said, sternly,"Don't put the blame on him! You know it wasn't his fault." Guards started to approach them. "Come, we must leave, Leia use your deku nut," Arthur commanded. Leia threw her deku nut, releasing a big, bright, white light. When it died down, they were nowhere to be found.
Beat and Richard arrived at the Castle Gates. The guards let them through and they were greeted by Drake.
"Mr. Grimsley and Sir Mellow! I am Senior advisor Drake" Drake greeted. "Come right this way, the princess is waiting for you." They followed Drake into the Castle and through its hallways. After a while, they came to a stop outside a door.
"She is waiting for you in here, have a nice...chat," Drake said and laughed as he walked away. Beat felt unsure about walking into the room. He felt like it was trap. Richard felt Beat's uneasiness but he felt it himself ever since he met Drake. Regardless, they walked in. It was pitch black inside but Beat felt the prescence of numerous people inside. "Richard!" Beat shouted in alarm as someone attempted to grab him.
"I know! Light a small flame so we can see more clearly!" Richard commanded. Beat did just that. He conjured a small flame in his hand which gave them vision on the enemy...which were royal guards.
"I knew it was a trap! Damn that Drake!" Beat roared. However, instead of fighting, Beat burst through the guards with Richard just behind. They quickly left the room and asked a servant where Zelda was. The servant directed them to the room she was really in. They burst through the doors and found no sign of Zelda.
"Richard, we're going to find Drake," Beat growled.
"Beat, calm down. We can't march up to Drake and accuse him of anything. He most likely has all the guards on his side and he is Senior Advisor," Richard reasoned.
"Yeah, I guess you're right," Beat said. Shouts of anger and marching could be heard. "We'd better go."
Drake was pushed to the wall by Aryu who was angry. "What have you done with the princess?!" She roared.
"My, my, I believe the rumours are true. Gerudo women are feisty," Drake replied, smirking.
"I know you have her! Where is she?" Aryu growled.
"I don't have a clue," Drake said, still smirking.
"I will find her, and I will expose your evil intentions, mark my words," Aryu threatened, and let go of Drake turning to leave. As she left, she saw Richard Mellow, the most venerated guard in the whole kingdom and Beat Grimsley who she knew through his visits to the Princess. They looked like they were in a hurry, running at top speed from the royal guards that were in hot pursuit.
"What is going on here?!" Aryu shouted, hoping to have her voice heard over the shouts of the men.
They stopped in their tracks-including Beat and Richard. One of the guards stepped forward to speak but Drake interrupted him.
"It appears that these young men attempted to abduct the Princess,"
"I don't think so," Aryu replied. Drake paused for a moment to think. He knew he had all of the guards on his side, through false promises and bribery. He basically owned the castle. He was untouchable.
"Guards, throw them out of the Castle Town gates...immediately," Drake ordered.
"Soldiers, stop!" Aryu counter ordered. Drake laughed. "You clearly do not understand the situation you are in. Guards, would you please?"
The soldiers followed the Senior advisor's orders. Roughly, they grabbed Beat, Richard and Aryu. They marched them through the Castle Town and threw them out.
"What do we do now?" Aryu asked.
"We need to find out where the Princess has been taken," Richard answered.
"But how? We have no leads," Beat replied.
"I think I may know who took her," Aryu suggested. "It may have been that man Drake was with. Clovis I believe."
Beat's eyes widened with realisation.
"Skull King...Drake...They must be working together!" Beat exclaimed.
"I've heard about this Skull King and his mighty army. He seems to be a force a to be reckoned with, however, so is Drake," Aryu told them.
"Together they would be too much for us to handle alone. We need help," Richard replied.
"And I know just where to get it," Beat said, marching towards the spot from before.
"Beat?" Aryu questioned.
"There's something here...I know there is," He replied and focused on the area. It flickered from a cottage entrance to the walls of Hyrule Castle Town. He walked forward and grabbed the door knob. He twisted it and opened the door. No one was inside.
"Amazing..." Aryu said, admiring Beat's work. Beat put a finger to his lips. He entered and beckoned them to follow. They all crept around. The room seemed to be a small library. There were three bookshelves with neatly packed books on them. Inside an open cabinet, there were scrolls piled inside.
In each corner, there were tables and chairs, seemingly for studying or reading.
"What is this place?" Richard muttered.
Faint whispers and footsteps could be heard. Gradually, they got louder. The group of three froze as the door to their right opened, revealing Leia, Finn, Arthur and Lukas.
Leia stood wide-eyed at Beat. She whispered an "Oh no" then looked at Arthur. Arthur scowled at the three.
"Who are you and how did you get in here?"
"Well done, Clovis" Skull King smiled as looked at the princess in his throne room.
"You will have a splendid time here, princess."
"I disagree," Zelda replied. Skull King bellowed with laughter.
"Onto more important matters," Skull King said, suddenly getting serious. "Give me your triforce."
"I would never give it to the likes of you," Zelda spat.
"You will...in time," Skull King replied."Clovis, take her away from here."
"As you wish," Clovis said as he bowed. He then ushered Zelda out of the throne room.
Drake knelt down before the King in his throne room. He noted that he knelt in the same way as Ganomdorf once did and in the same area. He knew this because he could see the courtyard window to his right.
"Drake, my most trusted advisor. What news do you bring to me today?" The King asked.
"Your Highness, you may want to know that..." Drake trailed off.
"That what?" The King demanded.
"That your Princess has been abducted,"
The King rose from his throne.
"Who did this?!" He demanded.
"None other than Richard Mellow and Beat Grimsley," Drake replied. "We found them leaving the scene of the crime. We believe that the Gerudo assisted in this crime. She was quick to retort and defend the two's actions. However, they escaped. For this high act of treason, I reccommend you make a speech to all citizens that their beloved Princess has been taken and that a high reward will be bestowed upon those who manage to turn the perpatrators in."
"Very well," The King replied. "Is that all?"
"No my King. The vigilante and his help committed the act of murder. I suggest you include them in your speech and give a high reward for the two as well. That is all," Drake said.
"Then let it be so. Now leave me be," The King ordered.
Drake rose and bowed before exit. Upon exiting, Drake cackled villianously at the King's stupidity. All was going well. He decided to report to Lord Drazo and update him on all that happened. Afterwards, he would go to Skull King.
"My name is Aryu and I was the Princess' attendant. I met with young Beat Grimsley here and Sir Mellow, they took me here, after the abduction of the Princess," Aryu introduced whilst bowing.
"We came seeking your help...and I'm just Richard Mellow. Not 'Sir Mellow' I'm not a knight," Richard said.
"You want our help?" Leia replied, surprised.
"Yes, because Skull King and the King's Senior Advisor are working together," Beat added.
"Drake," Arthur said with venom. "You still haven't answered my other question."
"Oh right. I saw this place with my Shiekah training," Beat laughed and looked at Leia. "Despite her efforts."
Leia's face went red. Arthur raised an eyebrow at her.
"Look, I-I tried okay?!" She stammered. "Don't look at me like that!"
"Back to Drake," Finn reminded. "What do we do now?"
"Me, Finn and Lukas will confront Drake," Arthur decided. "Leia will go with you three to try and track down the Princess. Are we agreed?"
Everyone agreed apart from Leia who complained about not being with Arthur.
"Leia, you need to show them what we're made of and," Arthur whispered to her then looked at Aryu who kept glancing at Leia. "One of them may know who you are."
Leia nodded and joined the group of three.
The two groups headed out and split up.
Leia asked her group: "How will we find out where the Princess is?"
"Well, we know who took her. All we need to do is draw him out," Beat replied, cracking his knuckles.
Drake entered Skull King's throne room to find him sitting in his chair as usual.
"Don't you ever want to get up and move around?" Drake laughed.
"Don't tease me advisor," Skull King replied."What news do you bring?"
Drake took something out of his pocket. It was a clear crystal with different colours flowing around inside it. He held it up to Skull King.
"Do you know what this is?" He asked.
"A crystal," Skull King answered.
"Not just any crystal," Drake replied. "It is a dimensional shard, given to me by Lord Drazo when I freed him from his prison."
"What does that have to do with anything?" Skull King questioned.
"It can tear open a rift into what I call 'The Void'. Inside the void are many different worlds that we can conquer and rule," Drake informed.
"There is something else to this," Skull King stated.
"Right you are. There is a petty guardian who guards The Void. He should be easy enough to defeat," Drake replied. "Just to demonstrate its power."
Drake threw the shard to the ground. The crystal disappeared as a rift opened up and began sucking in everything with great force. Skull King's sins were sucked in. Skull King was sucked in too. Drake was unaffected.
"Only the person who throws the shard is unaffected!" Drake shouted over the noise. He walked in after the sins and Skull King then the rift closed inwards. As soon as it closed, the crystal reappeared and Drake caught it.
"Welcome to the void," Drake said, spreading out his arms. There were balls of light that showed different landscapes and areas. They lit up the darkness of the void. Where they stood were small disperse stars.
"Where is this guardian that you talked about?" Jacob spat.
A tall being, twice the size of one man appeared in a burst of light. He had large, angelic wings and a long glowing sword in his right hand. He glared at the group before him.
"I sense great evil in you," He stated and went into a fighting stance.
"You would not be wrong," Drake laughed as his hands sparked with magic. Everyone went into a fighting stance and charged at the guardian.
The guardian batted away all magical attacks with his glowing sword and blew away the melee attackers with his wings. He began to charge a magical beam from the tip of his sword. Drake started charging one from the palm of his hands. The Sins ran in and dodged the guardian's wings that came at them. Anise cut her way through one and started attacking his legs. The others started attacking with their magic and swords. The guardian was forced to stop charging with his sword and fought them back with it.
Drake laughed as he released his magical energy, hitting the guardian on his shoulder.
Skull King conjured up some stalfos and sent them to attack. The guardian was soon overwhelmed.
"This is not over yet," The guardian said and retreated.
Drake used his crystal once again and the group were back in the throne room.
"Very interesting, no?" Drake laughed.
"It was interesting indeed," Skull King agreed.
Chapter 4: Devils' Advocates by Beat15
"Unhand me!" Zelda shouted as she was led into her cell. Her escort simply shook his head and motioned for her to enter the cell. "What? Now you feel the need to be gentle?"
"It isn't like I wanted to bring you here. It was bring you here alive, or I die. I'm not to keen on the idea of dying right now." Clovis sighed. "I'm disobeying orders right now anyway. This isn't where you were supposed to be kept."
Zelda paused, considering what her captor had just said. "Where is here?"
"That is something I can't say. I'm aware of that ability to talk with the goddesses that you have. And the Seven Sages also. I'm not taking any risks. This place isn't easily found." Clovis explained. "If you need anything just say so. I'll see if I can manage to keep you safe and secure. I know you don't trust me, but I'm the closest thing to a friend you'll have while you're here."
"Well, this could look bad if a villager sees this." Richard stated as he followed Leia, Beat and Ayru.
"What do you mean?" Beat asked.
"One guard walking behind three Gerudo." Ayru guessed.
"Exactly." Richard nodded.
"Idiot." Beat sighed. "I'm a Hylian, Leia probably prefers to be called a Shiekah judging by how she winces at the mention of our race, and Ayru is pretty well known. If anything it looks like we took you prisoner."
"Are we at the place you can contact Skull King yet? I don't mean to be rude, but I really don't want to be here." Leia urged.
Beat laughed and led the group into the open plains of Hyrule field. The sun was just beginning to set as Beat stopped. "This place should suffice. You three stay on the path, the Stalfos don't bother you until you leave the dirt road."
"What do Stalfos have to deal with this issue Grimsley?!?" Leia snapped.
"He's called the Skull King for a reason." Richard calmly replied. "If Beat starts off by taking out a few Stalfos, Skull will notice. He won't respond, but he'll know where we are. Afterwards, Beat will be putting that marking on his left hand to use."
"His left hand?" Ayru asked.
"It's a curse that was placed on me because of the Skull King. It's called the Antriforce, the means of destroying the Triforce. I'm holder of Rage, meant to destroy Wisdom. That's the princess." Beat called over his shoulder as he drew his knife. "Skull King has Greed which defeats Power. And the final piece is Fear which opposes Courage. I broke that system when I decided not to treat this marking as a blessing like Skull King and Jacob did."
"Jacob is Skull King's second in command. He also has magic that lets him use your biggest fears against you." added Richard. "I'll tell you more later, Stalfos are here."
"I know Arthur said to show us what you're capable of, but Richard and I saw. You haven't seen what I'm capable of." Beat laughed as the Stalfos began to rise from the ground. "What's one element that is always associated with anger and rage?"
"Fire..." Ayru answered hesitantly. "You don't mean..."
"I can control flames because of the Antriforce, yes. That added with my Shiekah training..." Beat called as he dodged the attacks of the Stalfos effortlessly, striking them with his knife, "makes me one hell of an opponent. But what am I saying, I'm just using a knife."
"The reason you led us here was so you could use your full strength in case of a fight?" Leia assumed.
Beat laughed as he stomped his foot down, causing a ring of fire to surround each of the remaining Stalfos. He raised his right hand high, and snapped his fingers. At that exact moment the rings engulfed the Stalfos. The flames quickly died out, leaving nothing but a pile of ashes. "Step one, done." Beat stated.
Arthur led the pair of boys through the town. The streets were unusually crowded for the evening. A large group had amassed by the castle gates.
"Do you think they noticed the princess is missing?" Lukas whispered.
As if to answer the question a loud procession of horns blared to hush the crowd. Then the king of Hyrule himself stepped into view.
"My loyal subjects, these are dark days indeed." the king boomed. "Not only have we the threat of Skull King still, but it has been made clear there are traitors among us."
"Oh that can't be good." Arthur whispered.
"One of our most trusted guards, who had sworn to protect our princess has broken that oath. Richard Mellow assisted in the kidnapping of Princess Zelda. Who was he helping you may ask? None other than the King of Thieves, Beat Grimsley." shouted the king.
The crowd started becoming uneasy, many people knew how loyal the pair being accused had been. However, Arthur felt that the speech wasn't over just yet.
"Hylians, there is more. The Vigilante has proven that he believes himself to be above the law. He and his apprentice have taken it upon themselves to execute a man in our streets."
Arthur looked at the pair he had with him. He had just been accused of being a murderer in front of his son. He didn't know how to react, so he just tried to remain calm.
"You two return to the cottage when you can. I can't put you two at risk." Arthur ordered as he walked away.
"What do we do now?" Lukas asked.
"Find Drake." Finn growled.
Skull King watched the speech being made from atop the castle roof. It had been some time since he had left his own castle. Beside him stood Drake, and one of his Sins. Onua, who led his navy.
"This is great." Onua laughed. "Grimsley's not being held up on a pedestal anymore."
"Thanks to Drake, we can now occupy the castle. Slowly you Sins will take positions within the castle until we can overthrow the current king. Then I will take the throne." Skull King wheezed.
"It appears that someone is leaving the plaza." Drake yawned. "One of the accused."
"Leave your petty grudge for now. Grimsley is trying to provoke me." Skull King laughed. "Can you contact Clovis, Drake? I have an idea that can put that gem of yours to use."
Drake laughed as he pulled out the violet colored crystal. "The dimensional shard Lord Drazo gave me. Where should I send them?"
"Anywhere away from where I will be sending Onua. Onua, be prepared for that guardian to try and stop you again." Skull King ordered.
"Yes my King." Onua said with a bow.
After Skull King conjured a green flame for Onua to exit through, he turned to Drake. "We'll dispose of the children for now. Have Clovis send you the pair you tried to kill."
"As you wish." Drake laughed as he vanished.
Leia was surprised by how Beat had to channel his energy to try and provoke his enemy. His body had black flames enveloping his body, seeming to not leave his skin. His eyes were no longer gold like most Gerudo, they were now blood red.
"Beat don't stay like that for too long!" Richard called.
"Act like I enjoy this!" Beat snapped.
Leia could see Beat was becoming angrier, and looked to see Ayru watching with the same fascination she had. Leia couldn't watch, she kept trying to look for some sign that Beat could stop, but wasn't finding anything. It wasn't until she looked up that she saw something.
"A storm?" Leia muttered.
"Huh? Storm?" Richard asked, looking at to see what Leia was talking about. When he spotted the clouds he gritted his teeth. "Beat, Clovis is coming!" he shouted.
Beat let out what seemed to be a roar. The flames around him vanished and his eyes slowly returned to the golden hue they were before.
"Clovis is?" Ayru asked.
"The one who took Zelda. Leave the talking, and fighting to Beat. Clovis represents Sloth, and uses magic. People who fight like me can't do much against him." Richard explained. "Clovis is also the one we can cooperate with the most. He doesn't kill on sight."
Before he could continue a bolt of lighting interrupted Richard. It struck right in front of Beat, and when the lights died out Clovis appeared.
"Hello." Clovis greeted.
"Clovis, I'd start talking now." Beat growled.
"Upset about being labeled a traitor?" Clovis asked.
"What?" Beat snapped.
"I guess you didn't hear." Clovis laughed. "You two have been accused of kidnapping Zelda, and that vigilante and his helper are marked as murderers. We've never done these kind of jobs until we took on that adviser. I believe you know his name."
"Drake." Leia spat.
"Exactly. He and Skull King have made a deal. Drake helps him take the Triforce and Antriforce, and my king provides Drake with an army to conquer any and every world he wants. But I can't really explain everything, why not ask Drake himself?"
With a snap of Clovis's fingers, four bolts lightning came down. Ayru was then left alone when the flash died out.
"I guess I don't get to have an audience with Drake." she growled. She then began heading back towards the cottage. Or at least she hoped she was heading towards the cottage.
Finn led Lukas to the trail that he had taken a hundred times with his father when delivering supplies to the castle. They saw few guards, most of them had to be guarding the king. Finn tried to remember where he had met Drake when he decided to sneak into the castle.
"This way Lukas, through this door." Finn whispered, pulling open a door that had looked locked.
"How do you know all the directions?" Lukas asked.
"I'll tell you later, after we find Drake." Finn hissed.
Finn tried to move as quickly as possible, stopping only to try and recall the winding paths Drake had taken him down. Finn was a bit uneasy, the castle was never this empty.
"Be ready for anything." Finn warned.
"Too late." whispered a voice Finn didn't recognize. He then blacked after being struck with a wooden club.
"Was that necessary Jacob?" chastised Drake.
"I was growing tired of waiting." hissed the Sin. "He won't be out for too long. A nightmare should wake him up."
"Oh, you are truly terrifying." Drake yawned. "Drag those two down to my study." Drake then vanished into the darkness, leaving the red-headed Sin alone.
"Keep ordering me about. I'll show you who you need to fear." Jacob growled before vanishing into a yellow spiral of fear magic.
"Now no fires in the castle. You don't want to risk any innocents being hurt, Grimsley." Clovis instructed. "Mellow keep a close eye on him. And you, I don't know your name, but try not to do anything stupid."
"Leia." she snapped.
"Well then, Leia, don't do anything stupid." Clovis said with a grin. With a quick flash of light, Clovis disappeared.
"I don't know whether to pity him, or to hate him." Beat sighed.
"What do you mean?" Leia asked.
"Clovis isn't bad. He just does what he has to in order to survive." Richard answered.
"Well, some people do things that seem like they're bad because they are bad. I'm one of those people." laughed Drake as he appeared before the group. Beside him lay Finn and Lukas.
"Big surprise, the farm boy was taken out." Leia muttered.
Drake laughed and walked over to his desk. "Well now, how may I help all of you?"
"Where is Zelda?" growled Beat.
"With Skull King." Drake answered calmly.
Finn and Lukas began to move slightly, and caught Drake's attention.
"Ah those two are waking up already. Good, I don't have to waste much more time with you children." Drake sighed. "Quick quiz, does anyone know what this is?" he asked pulling out a crystal.
"A gemstone?" Leia snapped.
"No. This is called a Dimensional Shard. It's how I intend to get rid of you all." Drake laughed.
"A little rock is going to kill us?" Richard asked.
"Oh come now. Who said anything about killing you?" Drake said with a smirk.
He then tossed the crystal at the floor before them and a massive fissure appeared. Beat and Leia struggled to hold onto something as they watched Finn and Lukas get pulled in. Beat tried to grab Richard, but failed to reach him in time. Beat stared helplessly as his friend fell into oblivion.
"I admire the courage to try and fight it, but you can't win." Drake laughed snapping his fingers.
Leia gasped as the bookshelf she and Beat held onto vanished and the two fell into the rift. Leia looked at Beat to see him muttering a silent prayer to one of the goddesses. She closed her eyes and silently apologized to Arthur for failing him.
"I can sense hope..." whispered a voice. "One of you have been here before. Not long enough for me to have noticed you the first time, but you have been here. I can sense that you plan to fight those who are damaging all the worlds..."
"Who are you..?" Finn groaned.
"I am a guardian. I was supposed to guard the Rift, and I failed." whispered the voice. "I am losing my strength, but I can help you. The evil ones have invaded another world. I am not strong enough to fight them myself. I will send the five of you to Kayve, a world of jungles and predators. You must work together to survive."
Finn tried to reply, but couldn't muster up the strength. He closed his eyes and drifted back into sleep.
"Farm Boy! Wake Up!"
Finn woke up to the shouts of Leia, as he shot up, he felt a heavy force hit his head. As he rubbed his head while opening his eyes he saw Leia rubbing her head the same way.
"What is it?" growled Finn.
"We fell into a trap." Richard sighed.
"Drake sent us to another world." Beat added.
"Kayve," Finn whispered.
"What did you say?" Leia asked.
"Kayve." Finn repeated.
"You must have hurt your head. This is not a cave." Leia snapped, "I know you hurt mine."
"No not cave, Kayve. A world of jungles and predators." Finn explained.
"Where did you hear this?" Lukas asked.
"In my sleep. Before you woke me, I was in some kind of void. There was a voice whispering to me. It talked about this place." Finn answered.
Leia started laughing, but when she saw the serious look on Beat's face she sighed.
"You don't think he's serious do you?" she asked.
"I wasn't sure about it, but I had the same dream. Leia, once we fell in we blacked out. I thought I woke up long enough to hear a voice talking about this thing called the Rift." Beat sighed. "Knowing I'm not the only one who heard it makes me believe it more."
"So we're in a world called Kayve. Okay, I see the jungle, but where are the predators?" Leia asked.
"I really wish you hadn't said that." Richard sighed. "Bad things happen when those kind of statements are made."
As if to affirm Richard's fears the trees surrounding them began to shake. A loud snarling sound could be heard from some ways off. Suddenly a large bull-like creature emerged through the trees. The group scattered to avoid being trampled by the large beast. Finn noticed a boy holding onto the creature's horns, trying to steer it into a tree. He drew his bow and drew the string back, an arrow of energy forming. Right as he was about to release the arrow a second creature crashed through the trees. The person riding this one managed to steer her creature into a tree. When it crashed she jumped off of it.
"Oh, Solace why can't you manage to keep control of a Stampeder?" groaned the girl. She then took off chasing after the boy.
"Locals. We should ask for help." Richard suggested.
"I'll follow those two, you guys can go where they came from." Beat sighed.
"No, I'm going with you." Leia argued. "I'm not going to travel with the Farm Boy."
"Fine, you better keep up. Richard, don't let them do anything stupid." Beat growled.
"Wait, who put you in charge?" Finn snapped.
"I did." Beat countered. "Because I did what I was supposed to do. I also did what you were supposed to do."
"Guys, don't fight." Lukas pleaded.
"I'm not going to." Beat replied. "Leia, let's go."
Beat and Leia then took off to follow the locals. Richard stood with Lukas, and an angry Finn.
"Don't take it personally Finn. Beat gets that way when he's trying to keep people safe." Richard sighed. "I think it'd be best to wait here. Those two might come back for this thing."
Chapter 5: Leadership by MadSkillz
Arthur walked through the streets of Hyrule, eavesdropping on every conversation. Most were talking about the King's speech that had happened a while ago. He then saw a group of people armed with different sorts of weapons crowding around a part of a wall. He approached the group and pushed through to the front. There was a wanted poster with his face on it. It also had a reward of fifteen thousand rupees and said to bring him...dead.
"Bring me dead?" Arthur muttered.
"What was that?" A man next to him said.
"I didn't say anything," Arthur replied with his head tilted down.
"Yeah you did mate, I 'eard ya," Said another man in the crowd.
"You said 'Bring me dead' didn't ya?" Another said.
"No..." Arthur replied.
"Look at us lad!" Said the first man and pulled Arthur's face up.
"Blimey...'E's the one on the poster!" He announced.
"Yer a dead man walking," The second man threatened.
"I don't think so," Arthur replied and brought his hands together. He disappeared in a puff of smoke and reappeared on the roof of another building. As he free-ran between buildings, he checked behind him for pursuers. There were none. With a sigh of relief, he dropped to the ground and walked out of the Castle Gates.
He walked towards his cottage and spotted Aryu walking in its general direction. He a smirk, he stealthily went behind her and clasped her shoulder. Swiftly she grabbed his hand and flipped him over her shoulder. Arthur landed on his back.
"What the hell Aryu?!" Arthur complained.
"I'm sorry, it was my reflexes," Aryu apologised.
"Shall we head to my hideout?" Arthur said whilst getting up.
"I was on my way there but...you know," Aryu replied.
"I know. You were heading in its general direction but you were still off," Arthur laughed.
"Some of us aren't shiekah lovers like you are..." Aryu muttered.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing,"
They entered the cottage and Arthur looked around. No one was there and the place was undisturbed.
"Everyone should be back by now..." Arthur pondered.
"Perhaps something happened to them," Aryu suggested. "Clovis took Beat, Richard and Leia to see Drake."
"Clovis?" Arthur asked, raising an eyebrow.
"One of Skull King's sins," She replied.
"That doesn't explain Finn and Lukas," He stated.
"Maybe Clovis took them too," She suggested.
"Then I guess we'll have to pay Drake a visit and find this 'Clovis' too," Arthur decided.
"I'm getting tired of waiting," Finn yawned.
"There's nothing we can do," Richard said.
"Richard is right," Lukas agreed.
"I have an idea," Finn replied and made a mark on a tree with his sword. Then he proceeded to look at the hoof marks left on the ground by the Stampeder.
"What are you...?" Lukas asked.
"I'm going to track where they came from. I left marks on the trees so that, if we get lost or they get back and we're not here, they'll know where we went," Finn explained.
"I'm not so sure about this," Richard said.
"Just trust me. They're locals, they can't have gone far from where they live. Trust me," Finn replied. "Alright we'll go with you, I'll be making those cross marks for you," Richard said.
Finn followed the tracks to an open clearing where more Stampeders were munching grass. There was no sign of where the locals had entered.
"It seems that we've reached an impasse," Richard stated.
Finn's face turned into a scowl as he thought. He asked himself where he would approach the Stampeders if he were to ride them like the locals had done. As he thought, Lukas tried to grab his attention.
"Uh, Finn?" Lukas asked.
No response.
"Finn?" He tried again.
No response. Lukas took in a deep breath.
"FARM BOY!" Lukas shouted.
"What?" Finn snapped as he stopped concentrating.
"Look," Lukas said as he pointed towards the sky. There was smoke rising up from the ground.
"Oh," Finn muttered. "Lets go over there, its probably their campsite or something."
Quietly, the group of three made their way in the direction of the smoke.
Beat and Leia walked down the trampled path that the Stampeder made. Along the way, they talked. "Why do you dislike Finn so much?" Beat asked. Leia looked away.
"I don't want to talk about it," Leia replied. "I hear you're supposed to be my king."
"No, I'm not. I'm just a Hylian," Beat replied. "I'm surprised that you said that though."
"Why's that?" Leia asked.
"You always wince at the mention of our race, I thought you preferred being a Shiekah," Beat laughed.
"I don't really prefer being either," Leia replied. There was silence afterwards. As they continued walking, they heard voices. They grew louder and louder as they carried on. The voices revealed themselves to be the two locals from before. One had good figure and hair that was brunette, wavy and went down to her shoulders. The other had a slim figure, brown eyes and blonde hair that was tied back in a ponytail. There was no sign of the Stampeder from before.
"I'm trying Mist!" Solace argued.
"It’s been three weeks, Solace. That’s far too long for someone to learn how to control a Stampeder," Mist argued back.
"Well I guess I'm not most people then!" Solace growled.
"...Lets head back to the village," Mist said. The pair turned to walk down the trampled path and saw the other pair.
"Solace, get behind me," Mist ordered, pulling out a knife.
"I'm not a kid, I can fight," Solace snapped, pulling out a knife of his own.
"What if they're from that village?" Mist hissed.
"Well then-" Solace started.
"Whoa, calm down. We're not from that village or whatever. We're not even from around here," Leia interrupted.
"You're from Cardinal then?" Solace asked.
"What?" Leia replied.
"Where are you two from? You don't look like people from around here. One of you has red eyes…no one has red eyes," Mist questioned.
"We're from a place called Hyrule, we were sent here by our enemy," Beat explained.
Solace and Mist put on confused faces.
"Hyrule?" Solace asked.
"What's that?" Mist asked.
"A whole different world to yours. We were hoping you could take us to your village," Beat suggested.
"Alright, come with us," Mist said, leading the way for the two. When they got back to where they were before, they saw cross marks on trees.
"What the...?" Leia started.
"Richard, Finn and Lukas aren't here either. Lets follow those signs," Beat ordered.
The group followed the cross signs to the clearing with Stampeders. They looked around for more cross marks and they found some. As they followed the marks, they quickly found the group of three.
"Are we even going the right way anymore?" Richard asked.
"Well we should be, I can kind of still see the smoke," Finn answered.
Lukas noticed the others behind them.
"Hey guys," Lukas greeted. Finn and Richard turned around.
"Hey," Richard and Finn said in unison.
"Who's idea was this?" Mist asked.
Richard and Lukas pushed Finn forward.
"Uh, it was...mine," Finn answered nervously.
"Well, you managed to track us properly to the Stampeders. That earns you my respect. However, you're way off course now," Mist said.
"Oh..." Finn muttered. "And you are?"
"Mist and this is Solace," Mist introduced.
"Can we go home please?" Solace complained.
Mist nodded and the group followed her lead. As they were walking, Leia slapped Finn on the back of his head.
"Ow!" Finn shouted.
"Stupid Farm Boy," She growled. "Do you have hay for a brain?"
"First off, I'd rather you call me Finn and secondly, I don't have hay for a brain. I just got tired of waiting for you," Finn snapped.
"I don't know what Arthur sees in you..." Leia muttered. The group continued walking for a while until they were on a dirt path that took them to an open area of trees. There were a lot of tree houses and buildings that blended in with the trees.
"Welcome to Moka village!" Mist exclaimed.
In the dead of night, Anise climbed the vines not too far from the first set of gates near Hyrule Castle. She was dressed in black and had a pack full of different weapons with her. She silently crept down the path until she was at the gates.
She climbed down the ladder and took out a guard. After hiding his body, she crept around the field, avoiding the guards' attention.
When she was at the main gates, there was a single guard there. He was patrolling the length of the gate.
When his back was turned, Anise armed herself with a small shiv. Steathily, she crept up behind him and shivved his neck. The guard died without making an outburst. She took his keys and opened the gate.
She then moved around to the side of the castle. There was a door there that was unlocked, at least it had seemed so. Drake had assured her it would be before she came. She reached for the doorknob and turned it. It was unlocked.
She crept in and closed the door quietly behind her. The room she was in was the storage room, it wasn't too wide, however it had a high ceiling with a chandelier dangling from the middle. The head of storage would often come and check on all the items in storage.
Quickly, she made her way to the door opposite and slowly opened the door. She looked to her left and right for any guards, maids or servants. There were none in this corridor.
Silently, she made her way to the throne room and let herself inside. She waited in the shadows, perfectly camouflaged, for the King to come.
After a while, the King entered with Drake in tow. The King sat in his throne and Drake began to speak. Anise took out a throwing knife from her pack and threw it at the King.
It impaled him in the stomach. The King looked to Drake for help with pleading eyes. He did nothing but smile. Anise finished off the job by slitting the King's throat.
Drake clapped.
"Well done. Very well done...you left quite a bit of mess though," Drake laughed.
"I have done my job. My King will get the throne," Anise spat.
"Very loyal," Drake noted. "Let us get your King."
Drake opened a rift using his Dimensional Shard and stepped inside with Anise.
"Why are we here again?" Anise questioned.
"I have discovered a secret with this," Drake answered, holding up the shard. "It can take you anywhere you want to be."
Anise raised an eyebrow and Drake threw his shard, opening another rift. When they went through, they found themselves within Skull King's throne room. Skull King was on his throne.
"Did you get the job done?" Skull King asked.
"Yes, my King," Anise replied, bowing.
"Good," Skull King smiled.
"Let us go and get your new crown," Drake said opening another rift.
Back in the castle, the guards were looking at the King's dead body. The guards went into their fighting stance and Anise went into her fighting stance.
Drake put out his arm.
"Guards, this is the time I talked to each of you about," Drake said. The guards lowered their weapons, stood tall and saluted.
Drake gave the crown to Skull King. Skull King then sat on the throne of the old king. Everyone in the room bowed to Skull King.
"I think it is time to inform the citizens of their new leader," Skull King smiled.
Chapter 6: Kayve by Beat15
"Princess, I'm afraid I have some bad news." Sighed Clovis as he approached her. "Your father is dead."
"What?" gasped Zelda. "How?"
"Drake allowed an assassin to enter the castle, and the king was killed." Clovis said with another sigh. "I'm sorry."
"So I'm Queen now?" Zelda whispered, tears starting to fill her eyes.
"You would be, but Drake handed the crown over to another person." Clovis muttered.
"Then..." Zelda started, but she couldn't finish before she began to sob. "My father..."
"He was a good man. He didn't deserve to die." Clovis growled. "I'm sorry I can't bring him back to you, but if I can do anything to cheer you up just tell me."
"Thank you, but I wish to be alone." Zelda whispered.
"Very well." Clovis nodded. He stepped out of the room that Zelda was confined to, and let out a long frustrated sigh. "I'm sorry Princess. When the chance arises, I will make it up to you, even if it costs my life. The Skull King's gone too far."
"People of Hyrule lend me your ears!" Drake called to the villagers crowded by the castle gates. "Our King has been killed, and his assailant was none other than the Gerudo asked to guard his daughter, our fair princess. And due to Princess Zelda's absence, we are without a ruler. Luckily, I have found a new king. Behold, The Skull King!" Drake cried as Skull King stepped onto the platform above the gate.
The crowd gasped in surprise at the sight of the Stalfos in armor.
"People of Hyrule, I am aware many of you believe I'm a tyrant bent on conquering this land. That is a lie spread by the malicious kidnapper of the princess. Beat Grimsley had gone through Hyrule preaching lies about me and my people. Allow me to rule you, and I will show that I am a fair king." Wheezed the Skull King.
"This is nonsense." muttered a Hylian in the crowd. As he turned to leave several noticed the young man dressed in green.
"So, this is where you call home. Sure is a lot of nothing here." Richard muttered.
"The village is in the trees. It's to prevent any animals to wander into the village." Mist explained.
"Pretty smart. It makes a great defense." Leia nodded.
"You need to speak with our leader, Kane. Solace take them to your father." Mist instructed. "I'm going to go get the Stampeder we managed to catch."
"But Mist, I..." Solace started before nodded. "This way."
"Let me help." Beat suggested. "Richard, you don't need my help to describe what happened, right?"
"Fine, come along." Mist yawned.
As Mist led Beat out of the village, Solace led the rest into the trees by revealing a hidden ladder.
"So what's the chief like?" Finn asked.
"Demanding, traditional, and ashamed to have me as his son." Solace muttered as he walked across a rope bridge.
"That sounds rough." Lukas sighed.
"You don't know what it's like to have a father that hates you." Solace groaned as he stopped before a door. "In here."
"So why follow me?" Mist asked.
"I figured you'd need help. That thing looked big, and I don't think any of my friends would have been able to help." Beat laughed.
"Are you suggesting I'm unable to handle this by myself?" Mist snapped.
"What? Of course not!" Beat gasped. "I wanted a chance to hear what you think of this place. I'm curious about this world. I wanted to be able to ask questions the others that came with me wouldn't understand."
"Really? Like what?" Mist asked.
"Has anyone or anything from another world appeared here?"
"No, well maybe. There's a village that we are in a skirmish with. They recently sailing with a ship larger than any we've seen before."
"Blackened wood?" Beat asked.
"Yes, how did you know?" Mist gasped.
"Two reasons. One, its a ship commanded by a pirate from my world. Two, its headed this way!" Beat whispered as he pulled her behind a tree.
"They're headed towards our docks!" Mist cried. "We need to warn the village!"
"You go warn your people, I'll distract the ship." Beat ordered.
"Are you crazy? What makes you think you can order me around?" Mist snapped.
"Because every second you waste arguing with me puts your village one step closer to being attacked." Beat growled. "Go."
"Fine. But when I'm giving orders, you'd better obey." Mist nodded.
"Right." Beat agreed. He watched his new ally sprint towards her village as he mentally prepared himself. "I can do this... Just Onua and some Stalfos."
"I can't believe it,"
"I know, we've been lied to for so long,"
"I knew we couldn't trust the Gerudo,"
"That King of Thieves stole our princess!"
Throughout the Castle Town, residents discussed all their new king had announced. Only one Hylian wasn't talking about the new king.
"Have you seen my brother? He's tall, and has a bad attitude with animals! He's been gone for a day now, and I want to know he's safe!" Malon cried.
"Miss, I'm sorry, but your disturbing the public. I must ask you file a behest and have it posted on the board." Stated a guard.
"But my brother, he's missing!" Malon pleaded.
"I'll help her, don't worry sir." Called a young man running towards the pair.
"Link? You're back?" Malon gasped.
"Good, I'll leave you two be." Nodded the guard.
"So what's wrong?" Link asked.
"My brother is missing. You remember Finn, right?" Malon sighed.
"I remember Finn. And if you hadn't told me he was missing I was gonna ask about him. I could use his help." Link replied.
"Help you with what?" Malon asked.
Link looked around, then leaned in close to her. "I don't think anyone that's been accused of treason is guilty. They've all worked to protect the king. And I know Beat Grimsley, he isn't a lier. He may be a thief but he's honest. The new king is a tyrant, and I won't follow him." Link whispered.
Malon gasped. "Link, you're not saying..."
"Resistance." Link whispered. "And I could use your help too. A secluded area to meet, that's all I'm asking for. The mill you have would be perfect."
"Link, if I didn't trust you I'd report you." Malon sighed. "Fine, long live the resistance." She whispered.
Finn nervously shuffled his feet as he awaited Kane's verdict. He, Leia, and Richard had explained what had happened, and they had Solace vouch for them. But he wasn't sure what the village leader would say.
"Alright then. I can accept that you're from another world. But why bother looking in our village for a way back? We hadn't heard of any gateways to other worlds before." Kane sighed.
"You're joking right?" Leia groaned. "There's gotta be a way back to Hyrule."
"Wait, what about the Groyan's Den? Isn't it said that the creature is unlike any animal in our jungle. It's den could be the gateway." Solace suggested.
"No. Even if it is the gateway they seek it's too dangerous. They'd have to go into the other village's territory. And if they managed to get through alive they'd have to fight the Groyan." Kane snapped.
"What's a Groyan?" Lukas asked nervously.
"A serpent that resides in the cave where all the rivers lead. It has three heads, and scales as hard as steel. Nothing can harm it." Solace whimpered.
"It's too dangerous. So I have two suggestions for what you can do next. Stay in our village and join us, or leave and head to Cardinal City. That place accepts every strange creature and person into its walls." Kane growled.
"We can't stay here!" Richard shouted. "We have to return to Hyrule! Our kingdom needs protection!"
"Do not think you can give me orders young man!" Kane barked.
"I'm not giving orders." Richard snarled. "I'm following them! I'm supposed to protect the royal family, and I can't do that here. The only decision that needs to be made is if you'll lend us a ship, or make us have to steal one."
Kane and Richard stared each other down until Kane laughed.
"You have spirit. Fine. Once Mist returns she can take you the the Groyan's Den." Kane laughed.
Finn and Lukas sighed in relief, as Richard shook hands with the village leader. Leia sighed and stepped outside.
Solace was astounded that Richard argued with his father. He was so accustomed to people obeying his father without question. As he was about to voice his opinion he heard someone shouting outside.
"Everyone get to cover! The Black Ship is coming!" Mist cried. "Get out of the trees, get away from the river bank!"
"Chloe and that damn ship!" Kane hissed as he jumped up. "Solace, take these three to the safe haven. I'm going to..."
"No." Solace answered. "I'm staying here and helping."
"Son don't argue with me!" Kane snapped.
"I'm going to help save everyone." Solace argued.
"To be honest we were planning on staying to help evacuate anyway." Leia said with a laugh.
"Fine." Kane sighed. "Now hurry!"
The band of travelers split up and ran through the treehouses warming the residents of the danger. As the villages began to climb from their trees to head into the safe haven the black vessel sailed into view.
Leia gasped when she spotted Beat, who was dangling from the masthead. He appeared to be unconscious, and tied so he couldn't move even if he were able to try.
"Grimsley!" Finn shouted. Lukas and Richard had to grab him to prevent him from trying to run towards the ship.
"Hold it Finn. That ship has powerful cannons. It's suicide to try and rush towards it." Richard hissed. "Beat can get himself out. Now c'mon!"
"Lets go Finn." Leia nodded.
The travelers began to follow the rest of the village until they heard a loud explosion. They turned to see a cannon ball hurtle past them into a group of villagers.
