Author's Notes:
Beat is still injured from his fight with Link, but before he is given time to rest the group is stopped by a new threat.
Richard had everyone give him room as he stitched the cuts closed and he often called for someone with a bottled fairy. He had to work quickly if he wanted Beat to stay with them.
"I need a fairy right now! Navi don't even say it!" he barked.
Link ran up with three bottled fairies and released all of them towards Beat, but they all went away from him.
"Damn it! Why won't the fairies heal him?!?" growled Link.
"We feel dark energy coming from him." sighed Navi. "Your sword from that mask left dark power inside him keeping us fairies away from him. Even if we could help him though, I doubt our magic would help."
"This is all my fault!" cried Malon.
"No, don't blame yourself!" hushed Penny. "He tried to keep everyone safe, he probably planned for Link to do that."
"Why would he do that?" spat Alice.
"He never wants people to be hurt, he'd rather get more scars than injure a friend." snapped Peter. "He fought an entire pirate crew to save our town, unarmed! And he hardly knew us then!"
"He did fight Forvalgia to protect the Kokiri." added Archer.
"And kept Ace from doing anything serious to us." nodded Ivy.
"He did all that to keep us safe, when we were strangers to him, and so he risked his life to keep two safe." concluded Link.
"Right." agreed the crowd of friends.
"Hey, he moved!" laughed Richard.
"Urgh, is Malon alright?" groaned Beat keeping his eyes shut.
"She's fine. Just relax and try to sleep." breathed Richard.
"Is Link okay too?" moaned Beat.
"I'm right here buddy, I'm ok." nodded Link.
"That's good." sighed Beat. "Which Sage Warrior should we awaken next?"
"We're not leaving until you're better." replied Kai wiping sweat from Beat's face.
"But my people!" groaned Beat opening his eyes.
"You'll be no help to them in this state!" barked Gwen. "You can hardly open your own eyes, let alone stand up! If you tried at this moment you'd be killed!"
"Gwen?" gasped Alice.
"She's right." sighed Strafe. "We can't follow an injured man into battle. Besides I doubt the lot of us will manage. We have how many people? Sixteen? A lot of good sixteen versus an army of controlled Gerudo, and this freaking Bone Soldiers."
"Big Brother?" gasped Ai.
"Not to mention Jacob and Edmund." added Travie. "The Dragon Master, and Envious Ed!"
"Those are stupid names." yawned Beat.
This evoked laughter from the friends there. Beat drifted back to sleep as the conversation continued.
"He's so peaceful right now." sighed Malon.
"I wish he'd told us. Then we wouldn't have thought he was insane." muttered Reggi.
"Hey! Be quiet! He did what he did to keep us from worrying!" shouted Ivy.
"Right, sorry." apologized Reggi.
As Beat woke up he felt gentle bumps rocking him.
"Where are we?" yawned Beat.
"We're in Hyrule Field." cooed Penny.
"Link used his wish to get an extra cart full of supplies for our trip." added Ivy. "Now we've got four carts. One for food, one for equipment, one for medical treatment, and one to carry everyone."
"So I'm in the medical cart?" groaned Beat.
"That's right buddy." called Richard over his shoulder.
"So far we're just riding four per cart. You, Penny, Richard and I are obviously in the medical cart with you. In the equipment cart we've got Kai, Link, Vak, and Reggi. In the food cart is Peter, the Shade siblings, and Travie. And in the other cart is Gwen Archer, Ai, and Strafe." explained Ivy.
"Where's Skull Kid and Malon?" grunted Beat.
"Skull Kid left with Tatl and Tael to go back home. Malon was dropped off back at Lon Lon Ranch while you slept." answered Penny.
"Yeah, and now we're headed for Lake Hylia." added Richard.
"We've got to stop, looks like a storms brewing." called Link.
"Great, just what we need with Beat injured." muttered Ivy.
Beat sighed and closed his eyes. He knew he should rest to let his body recover. Right as he was drifting off to sleep he heard loud shouts. He tried to sit upright but his body was in too much pain to move.
"This can be resolved quickly. Hand over Grimsley, and the rest of you move on." shouted an unfamiliar voice.
"Why should we trust you?" shouted Kai. "All we know is that you're unarmed!"
"Because, I've got quite a few friends." laughed the stranger.
"Just who are you anyway?" challenged Strafe.
"I'm Clovis Hutl, and I have been ordered to retrieve Grimsley by my king." announced the attacker.
"Stop!" shouted Beat hoarsely. "At least let me see him, I think I should decide if I go with him."
"No, you're too important!" growled Richard. "You've got that Antriforce to protect!"
"Shut up Richard! I want you all to stay safe. I can't risk anyone getting hurt." cried Beat.
"Vak, help Beat out of the cart." ordered Richard.
"But…" gasped Alice.
"It's his decision." growled Richard. "Let him make it."
Beat was lifted by the Vakan and was turned to face the attacker. He saw Clovis and saw he was Hylian, or at least half-Hylian half-human. He had black hair and green eyes, and wore a white collared shirt. He had two gold rings on either hand, one on his index finger, and one on his ring finger. He also had two earrings on his left ear. He had a bored expression as he observed Beat.
"I'll go with you." nodded Beat.
"What?!?" gasped all of the riders in the carts.
"Hmph, that didn't take long." yawned Clovis. "Fine then, Jacob drop him off where our lord wants him." he ordered snapping his fingers.
Jacob appeared next to Vak and grabbed Beat's good shoulder. "Trust me, I'd rather heal him and kill him when he's fully up to strengh. I'm the prideful one, so trust me." he growled.
"If you hurt him I'll…" shouted Ivy.
"We are going to heal him. This is a surprise to us as much as you. I was ordered to halt your advance and take Grimsley to a special place." yawned Clovis. "Now hurry up, I am growing impatient."
"I'll be alright, trust me." stated Beat. "Now let's go."
"I hope you're ready to finally meet Skull King face to face." laughed Jacob.
Jacob snapped his fingers and he and Beat were swallowed by a yellow spiral. The carts were left perfectly unharmed, but Clovis still remained.
"You said we could go on if Beat went with you!" growled Link.
"I know. I'm just waiting for a friend." laughed Clovis.
"Sorry for keeping you waiting." cackled a strange voice. Suddenly Clovis's shadow rose and revealed a tall figure. The shadows fell back to leave a man wearing a strange fish shaped helmet.
"You kept me waiting too long Zant!" growled Clovis.
"Sorry Lord Hutl, but starting an uprising isn't easy." apologized the man apparently named Zant.
"So we now have full cooperation of the Twili?" asked Clovis.
"Yes sir." nodded Zant.
"Good, bring about the Twilight, and let your creatures roam!" laughed Clovis snapping his fingers. Clovis vanished in a flash of lightning, leaving Zant in front of the carts.
"Just what the hell is that on your head?" growled Allen.
"That is not your concern, you should worry about Twilight!" laughed Zant jumping up and down.
"Everyone go now!" warned Richard. He stirred his horses into running and pulled Vak onto his cart.
As the carts rode off the dark clouds over Lake Hylia thundered. And squares filled the sky as strange beasts fell from strange portals in the sky.
"These things are crazy! Where are the faces?" shouted Archer firing an arrow at one chasing after them.
"I don't know, but they seem to be able to take a punch!" called Kai drawing his sword out of the head of one.
Link felt like someone was waiting for him in the strange sky that was following them. He drew his sword and jumped out of the cart.
"Link are you crazy?!?" shouted Gwen.
"I'll stay behind and distract these things! You all go find a safe place!" hollered Link.
"Idiot." muttered Richard. "Reggi, Travie, go help Link!" shouted Richard.
"Oi!" nodded Reggi jumping out of his cart.
Travis drew his hatchet and jumped onto the back of one of the monsters. "Way ahead of ya!" he laughed.
"You die, and I'll kill you!" warned Peter.
"Right!" called Link and his two teammates.
Reggi pulled two bombs out and lit them, a smile growing on his face. "Ready?" he lauhed.
"Born ready." growled Travie playfully.
"Let's do this!" roared Link.
Beat felt a sharp pain in his shoulder as Jacob pushed down on it.
"Quit moving around, the bone was dislocated, so I have to reset it." he growled.
"Let me do it!" offered Clovis.
"Shut up!" barked Jacob.
"Idiot, let me do this." growled a raspy voice.
"Skull King I presume?" winced Beat.
"Very good. Let dark magic heal what dark magic caused." cackled the skeletal man.
"How can I trust you?" growled Beat. "I doubt you left my friends safe."
"He catches on quickly." laughed Clovis.
"Bastards!" shouted Beat trying to get up.
"We won't let anything happen. I swear on my honor." vowed Jacob.
"If he swears on that he won't allow any of us to interfere." yawned Edmund.
"Now sit still." ordered Skull King.
He spread his arms as crimson energy crawled across Beat's body. It kept moving until his entire body was covered, and then seeped into his skin. As it was absorbed into his body Beat felt the pain leaving him. He began to move the parts of his body that were no longer covered in the strange magic. He tried moving his injured shoulder and sighed in relief when he was rewarded with full cooperation from it.
"Now, as for your payment." laughed Clovis walking up to Beat. "You will be going on a vacation to a place far from Hyrule."
"What?!?" gasped Beat. He tried to grab one of his captors, but Clovis snapped his fingers before he had the chance.
Lightning struck Beat and left the table be laid on completely empty. Edmund walked off leaving Clovis with the two holders of the Antriforce.
"You sent him where we wanted you to, right?" growled Jacob.
"Of course, Termina Field, south of Clock Town." yawned Clovis. "Oh man, I need to get something to eat, I'm starving."
"I'm amazed you manage to stay that thin after eating so often." muttered Jacob.
"He was a glutton before I found him, now that's he has power he is even more gluttonous. This is why he is Gluttony." laughed Skull King.
"Oh stop, you're making me blush." laughed Clovis walking off.
"Are you sure we should send him to find those two?" whispered Jacob.
"Trust me, if he finds the him then we could get rid of him and Grimsley before they awaken his powers." reassured Skull King.
"And the girl?" added Jacob.
"She will be able to work on the inside and plant mistrust among the entire group of them." responded the king.
"So the Water Sage Warrior, and another of your Sins. Which will he find first?" laughed Jacob.
Beat woke to find a man leaning over him, checking his pockets.
"Jeez, this kid's got a ton of cash on him!" muttered the man.
"Excuse me, but what the hell are you doing?" growled Beat.
"Oh crap you're awake!" shouted the man running off.
Beat felt his pockets and found his rupees all gone. Beat gritted his teeth and ran after the thief.
"Bastard! Get back here and face ms like a man!" he shouted.
The guard who watched the gate to the Southern Swamp heard the shouts and alerted his fellow guards. When word reached Captain Viscen he smiled inwardly.
"Setton the Prancing Thief, you're finally going to face your crimes!" he laughed.
"Setton?" asked a young man walking into the office.
"Ah, such a pleasure it is to see you…"
"Save it Captain, you have a lead on Setton?" growled the man.
"Yes sir, we finally have a lead. Ever since he changed the location of his hideout our trail has grown cold. But there is a young man chasing after him on foot." explained Viscen.
"I'm coming with you, I want to catch that thief with my own hands!" laughed the young man.
"Very well, follow me sir." nodded the captain.
Beat ran as fast as he could, trying to catch the thief. For some reason his prancing made him faster.
"Damn it!" he growled. "Wait, those are trees! Perfect." he laughed.
He made a sharp turn and ran at an angle that would have him enter the trees from another point. When he reached the trees he leapt towards one and kicked off the trunk to reach higher branches. He continued to leap from bough to bough trying to catch up with the thief.
"I will catch you damn it! I can't wait till I get my hands on you Setton!" roared a voice running towards the trees.
"Eh?" gasped Beat looking towards the voice.
He saw a man with purple hair rushing towards the thief.
"Setton? Why is that name familiar?" muttered Beat. "Ah well, I'm sure it will come back to me. As for now, Give me my damn money!"
The pursuit lasted quite a few hours and Beat had grown worried. He didn't know his way around this area, so he had no clue where civilization was. He couldn't even hear the shouts of the other man. Soon he spotted Setton walking up to a cliffside surrounded by thick marsh grass.
"Great, I'm in a swamp now." groaned Beat. "What's that?" He noticed a red balloon floating by, and hanging from it was a rather small child.
"Hmm, this area isn't on Tingle's maps, Tingle must add this!" cheered the child.
"Hmmm, I wonder." thought Beat.
Viscen panted in exhaustion as well as his fellow off duty guards. They had given up chasing after their leader.
"Viscen," panted one of the guards. "Why do we have to chase after Setton with Kafei?"
"So he doesn't get lost or hurt. What would Madame Aroma do if Kafei went missing again?" snapped the Captain.
"I wonder how far he got now that he stopped shouting." muttered another guard.
Kafei shoved through the underbrush and soon found his hated enemy prancing in front of a cliff.
"Still has the same qualities as his lair in Ikana Canyon." muttered Kafei. He looked up when he branches rattling.
"I've got you now thief!" shouted a boy jumping from a tree.
The boy stepped onto the balloon holding Tingle in the air and kicked off towards the cliff side. Tingle's balloon popped and he fell to the ground. Kafei ran and caught him, and after assuring the mapmaker was safe he turned his attention to Setton.
"There's nowhere to run Setton!" laughed Kafei.
"Oh shit, the town guards are here too?" gasped Setton tying to slide up he cliffside.
"Give me back what you stole." growled the boy pushing the thief towards Kafei.
"Huh?" gasped Setton as he stumbled towards Kafei, who held him with a tight grip.
"Now, what did you plan to do? Add this kid's treasure to the hoard of trinkets you've stolen?" questioned Kafei.
"No no no! It was just a game! I didn't want to keep his money!" cried Setton. "Please let me go! I've done nothing wrong!"
"Pathetic. You stole my wedding ceremony mask when I was cursed. You stole from this boy. You are a criminal and you must pay for your crimes." spat Kafei.
"Ah, there you are Sir!" hollered Viscen running up with the rest of the guards. "Sorry, we need more training. I see you've caught the thief."
"Yeah, thanks to this young man." laughed Kafei. "Return his money, and if you try anything funny I will break your arm!"
Setton shakily pulled out the boy's wallet and returned it to him.
"Thank you sir." nodded the boy towards Kafei.
"No problem. Viscen take Setton to prison. I will escort this boy to where ever it is he was headed." nodded Kafei.
"Yes sir." saluted the captain. He had several guards tie Setton's legs together so they had to carry him.
"Alright, now where were you headed?" laughed Kafei.
"I don't know. I just woke up in that field and had him taking my money." sighed the boy.
"Hmm, where are you from?" asked Kafei.
"I'm from Hyrule, my name is Beat Grimsley."
"Hyrule? You'll probably say no, but do you know a boy named Link?" gasped Kafei.
"Yeah, I was with him before I…" started Beat. "before I blacked out." he lied.
"So you do know him!" cheered Kafei. "Alright you're coming with me, I've got just the place for you to stay."
"Wait where am I?" asked Beat as Kafei dragged him through the swamp.
"You my friend are in Termina, and I am taking you to the Stockpot Inn in Clock Town. You will love it there. Carnival is just around the corner, and I've got a room reserved for a special guest. And you young sir, will get to be my special guest." laughed the man.
"Termina?" gasped Beat recalling Link's tale of how he repeated three days over and over until he had successfully freed all four giants to stop the moon.
Kafei laughed when he noticed Beat looking up trying to see a moon hovering right over them.
"Haha, relax. The moon isn't invited to this Carnival." reassured Kafei.
"Alright. If you say so." muttered Beat.
Author's Notes:
Beat in Termina; Link, Travie, and Reggi in Hyrule field; Richard and the rest surrounded; and Hyrule Castle under a new ruler!
Link, Travie, and Reggi all panted as they fell on their backs. They managed to fight off all the creatures buying their friends time to escape.
"That was hellish." coughed Reggi.
"Every time we came close to killing them all one would howl and bring every downed one up." added Travie.
"I'm just glad we managed to guarantee the others are safe." sighed Link.
"But you know, those dark clouds are all over the place now." moaned Reggi sitting up. He pointed towards Kakariko, indicating the dark clouds over the mountain.
"Over by the Lost Wood's too!" gasped Travis.
"So those ones we fought were a diversion!" growled Link.
"What if the others are trapped by one of those things?" gasped Travie.
"They were headed towards Kakakiro, let's go!" urged Link getting up.
The other two rose and followed Link towards the village they just left behind.
Beat found Clock Town better than he had imagined. Kafei showed him several places of interest, including the great fairy fountain.
"If you need help either seek me at the mayor's residence, or see the Great Fairy." advised Kafei.
"Sir, I've got bad news." called Viscen running up to them.
"Don't tell me what I think you're about to say!" growled Kafei. "He escaped, didn't he?"
"Sorry sir." sighed the captain.
"Damn it!" roared Kafei. "Every time we catch him he manages to slip away!"
"If I may, the best way to catch a thief, is with a better thief." suggested Beat.
"What are you saying young man?" asked Viscen.
"Well, I can wait outside a place he's known to steal from, and follow him. I steal everything back, and then drag him along with me." explained Beat.
"Why should we trust a pirate like you?" growled another guard.
"Pirate?" murmured Beat. "Oh right, Termina's Gerudo live on the sea. I'm a desert Gerudo. I am no pirate, I am a thief." explained Beat.
"Leave him alone! He's actually managed to track Setton through the swamp, unlike all of you!" hissed Kafei.
The guards looked away shamefacedly. Beat laughed and followed Kafei to the only inn in Clock Town.
"Oh, Kafei! Welcome!" laughed the innkeeper.
"Hi Anju." nodded Kafei. "Do you still have that extra room for a special guest of mine?"
"Of course. Is this young man your guest?" nodded Anju.
"Sort of. He needs a place to stay and he's a friend of Link's. He is going to stay for the Carnival of Time." explained Kafei.
"Ah, so you are the Anju Kafei spoke so highly of. I must say, you are just as he described. Simply radiant, with a glowing smile." laughed Beat.
"Oh Kafei!" cooed Anju running around the counter. She ran up to Kafei and embraced him in a tight hug. "You always speak so highly of me!"
Kafei smiled thankfully at Beat who simply smiled.
"I owed you." mouthed Beat.
Richard and the rest of the group found themselves surrounded by an army of skeletons.
"Damn it." muttered Richard. "We're down four of our best, and two of the remaining twelve can't fight."
"Hey, ten of us can handle these boneheads." laughed Alice nervously.
"Really? At least two would have to stay and watch Penny and Gwen." snapped Strafe.
"Well, how about Ivy, Ai, Richard, and I make standoff?" suggested Vak.
"Not without me!" growled Kai.
"My sister isn't staying!" snapped Strafe.
"Strafe snap out of it. They need me to use my shadows. But I will need someone to guard me." sighed Ai.
"I'll protect you." nodded Allen.
"Anything happens to her and I'll kill you." warned Strafe.
"I wouldn't show my face around you guys anyway." laughed Allen.
"Truly heroic." yawned Clovis appearing behind them with a flash of lightning.
"What the?" growled Kai drawing his blade.
"I'm here to..." he stopped when an arrow whizzed past him and clipped his ear.
"Get the hell away from them!" snarled Will.
"Whose wearing the mask?" thought Richard.
"Tch, fine. We'll do it the hard way." hissed Clovis. He snapped his finger and a large arc of electricity struck the center of each cart.
After the smoke cleared Clovis stood in the charred remains.
"Oops." he muttered wiping his blood off of his ear using a rag.
Link fell to his knees as he watched the lightning strike the carts. Travie and Reggi looked on in horror as their friends were struck.
"Damn it! We let them fall into a trap!" sobbed Link.
"I don't know, why didn't he just do at the beginning after they took Beat?" reasoned Travie.
"He's got a point." nodded Reggi. "I think he sent them somewhere else. But for now, we should check out Kakariko, those clouds give me a weird vibe."
"Let's try to avoid going near the carts remains." suggested Travis.
"Yeah, let's do that." sighed Link. He got up and slowly walked towards Clovis.
"Woah, hey we said around not through!" gasped Reggi grabbing Link's arm.
"Yeah, that's what I was doing." mumbled Link.
"No you were trying to get yourself killed by Clovis!" snapped Travis.
"I was?" yawned Link.
"You are out of it." sighed Reggi. "Hey, he knew them better than we did, it probably put him in shock." growled Travie.
"It's not that. I'm just exhausted." sighed Link.
Beat found himself enjoying a warm supper with Kafei and Anju's family. He sat next to Kafei who gave him several warnings.
"Now don't try the soup, or the boiled fish." whispered Kafei.
"It can't be that bad." replied Beat. He reached for the plate of fish and saw Anju's face light up as he reached for it.
"Oh Tortus, the poor fool." muttered Anju's grandmother.
Beat took a bite of it and smiled.
"See? Nothing bad happened." suddenly Beat gagged.
"Second door on the right." sighed Kafei.
Beat sprinted down the hall as Anju started to cry in her seat.
"Oh Tortus, what has cursed your daughter to make her such a horrid cook?" sighed Anju's grandmother.
Kafei laughed as he got up. "I'll see if he's okay."
"Anju dearie, please stop." comforted Anju's mother.
"Why does everyone hate my cooking?" sobbed Anju.
Kafei soon returned with a pale looking Beat.
"I'm okay." groaned Beat, "and it tasted good, up until I tasted vinegar. And mustard leaves, and…"
"I think we get the point." sighed Kafei.
"Some soup will make it better." muttered Beat.
"No!!!" gasped Anju's grandmother, but it was too late.
Beat took a spoonful of soup and gagged once again. Kafei grabbed his face to hide his laughter. Anju started to cry even more, and her mother gave up.
"I'll be upstairs." stated the retreating woman.
"Wait push me too!" called Anju's grandmother.
"I will grandmother." sighed Kafei. He then pushed the old woman to her bedroom.
Beat crawled into the dining room and tried to pull himself back into the chair.
"Sorry, I'll help clean up." moaned Beat.
"No, you've gone through enough tonight." sighed Anju. "You can go to your room, I'll clean up."
"C'mon I'll help you up." smiled Kafei, returning to the table.
"Thank you." laughed Beat weakly.
Anju was soon left alone in the dining room. She checked to see if anyone was close by, and seeing as nobody was around, tried a spoonful of her soup. She choked and ran to the restroom.
"No wonder everyone hates my cooking!" she gasped.
Link and his friends reached the village as the sun began to set.
"Well, I'm pretty sure that wasn't here when we left." groaned Reggi.
Sitting in front of the entrance was a giant black wall that seemed to be made of light. Travie tried to touch it but Link held him back.
"Don't try anything until we know what it is." hissed Link.
"Sorry, curiosity got me." sighed Travie.
"What is it anyway?" yawned Reggi poking it with a stick.
"I don't know. Try breaking it with one of your bombs." suggested Travis.
"I'm all put out of bombs, sorry." sighed Reggi.
"Argh, what are we gonna do?" growled Travie. He then kicked a stick at the wall and watched it bounce off of the wall unscathed. "It didn't damage the twig. My turn." he laughed.
"Travie no!" shouted Link.
But it was too late. Travie ran at the wall and jumped up at it. He was bounced back and groaned in pain.
"Ow, that hurt." grumbled Travis.
"Which part?" asked Reggi.
"My ass, I fell on it." growled Travie.
Link then smacked Travie and said "You idiot! What if that could have killed you?"
"I guess I didn't think it through." sighed Travie. "Sorry."
Link then turned to see a hand shoot out of the wall. Before he could warn his friends it grabbed him by the head and dragged him through the wall.
"Link!" gasped Reggi.
Travie tried to grab Link but missed and fell on his face. "Damn it!" he growled.
"Now we've lost everyone!" groaned Reggi.
"Just me and Reggi. Great." grumbled Travis.
Richard woke to find he and his friends in a familiar place. They had been brought to the castle town. But something didn't seem right. No children played in the streets, no peddlers were selling their goods.
"Hey, what are you doing? Get inside quickly!" shouted someone from a shop. He held his door open and motioned for Richard to come in.
"My friends are still out cold!" called Richard.
"Fine, everyone come help." ordered the shopkeeper.
Soon a several men came out and carried the unconscious travelers inside. Richard was hurried inside and soon given a cup of tea.
"Richard, good to see you." sighed a big man.
"Cyril? What are you doing here?" gasped Richard.
"The town has been attacked. Strange creatures came and seemed to be looking for something. A lot of guards and knights fought. They didn't stand a chance." sighed a young woman.
"What about the royal family?" asked Richard.
"They hadn't left Kakariko." replied a roughed up guard.
"Isaac is that you?" asked Richard.
"Yeah, one of the few that made it out." groaned Isaac.
"Ugh, what's going on?" yawned Allen waking up.
Soon all of the travelers began to wake up. The refugees introduced themselves and soon informed the rest of the Sage's Army of what happened.
Inside the castle two men sat at in the throne room. Clovis sat in the King's throne and laughed. "This turned out perfectly! Not only did I conquer Hyrule in the name of the Skull King, but I also proved to Jacob that I'm better than him!"
Zant sat in the other throne and laughed along with his commander. The pair knew they had done what they were told to. And now they were reaping the benefits.
Jacob and Edmund sat in a sitting room and conversed about Clovis surpassing them.
"I think we should ask Skull King to move Clovis to another position. Maybe we should send him to where we sent Grimsley." suggested Edmund.
"You know, that may actually work." laughed Jacob.
"Too bad I won't be sending Clovis out there." growled Skull King.
"Ah, my lord!" gasped Jacob bowing down.
Edmund bowed along with Jacob, but felt a hand fall on his shoulder.
"I'm sending all three of you. Jacob will be in charge. Go to Termina, and start causing trouble for the Gerudo. Grimsley will surely go to save his race." laughed Skull King.
"My king that is a brilliant idea!" agreed Edmund.
"I know, now get moving. I'm leaving Zant in charge here." growled Skull King.
The two Sins bowed and then vanished inside a spiral made by Jacob's magic. Skull King stood alone and turned to the window.
"So, Wraith, have you found yourself a body?" he stated.
The light filtering through the window vanished as a large shape blocked the window. The voice then laughed cruelly. "My King, I have no need for a surrogate anymore. My body has returned to me!"
"Good, I need you to go to Termina, assist Jacob. Do this soul eater, and I'll free you." laughed Skull King.
"Milord, I will do it!" laughed the massive form as it flew off.
"Now, Grimsley has no chance. With three Sins, my soul eater, and the soon to be fourth Sin, he will be nothing but a memory soon!" cackled the King.
Twilight's Creatures by Beat15
Author's Notes:
We find out what happened to Link, what the majority of the group do in the twilight, how Beat recovered from Anju's cooking, and we get a small glance at someones history,
As Link felt the strong arm pull him in he felt like he was being crushed. He fell to the ground and felt something happening to himself. He crouched down and panted as he felt himself changing. He felt immense pain as he felt a tail grow. He roared out as he had a snout sprout from his face. He felt himself growing fur and then collapsed. Laying where Link had been rested a blue eyed wolf.
"What happened to me?" thought Link. "I can't talk!"
Then he saw the creature responsible for him being pulled in. Floating in front of him was an imp with a stone mask of some sort.
"Eheeheehee. You certainly look more obedient in that shape." laughed the imp.
Link got up and tried to snap at the imp, but she dispersed into some kind of bubbles and went around him.
"Hmm, I guess you don't appreciate what I've done for you. I brought you to where your precious princess is. You want her to stay safe don't you?"
Link suddenly realized that Zelda was still there in Kakariko, and started to run off towards the village.
"Ah ah ah!" chided the imp. "You're going to need my help."
Link whimpered and lowered his head.
"Hmph, you're truly pathetic." sighed the imp. "I'm Midna, your new master."
Link jumped up when she said "master". He growled and bared his fangs. He wasn't going to be some toy for a spoiled imp.
"Oh? Don't like the word master? Fine. How about I call you a dog?" laughed the imp.
Before Link could respond she jumped onto his back. He jumped and kicked trying to get her off, but had no luck.
"Should I bring your two idiots into this Twilight also?" yawned Midna.
Link didn't know what to respond with. He didn't even know if he wanted them to come in. But what if they get changed also? Link shook his head trying to decide what to do.
"Tough decision, isn't it? Well, I doubt they'll be able to see you. Any normal person would turn into a spirit here. The only reason you aren't a spirit is because of the Triforce you have." explained Midna.
Link looked at the wall of Twilight and whimpered.
"I'll tell them you're okay." sighed Midna going into the wall.
Travie continually slashed at the wall trying to get through. He wasn't going to leave a friend behind. He kept up the assault even after he was out of breath.
"Travie, give it up. We just have to believe in Link." sighed Reggi.
"Shut up!" panted Travie slashing the wall. "I'm not letting him go in there alone!"
"You can't help him." laughed a mysterious voice.
Travis dropped his hatchet and looked for the voice's owner. Reggi looked at Travie's hatchet and saw the shadow coming to life.
"Relax, I'm not one of those things. Link is safe, he just needs to do something on his own." explained the shadow.
"Why wouldn't he want our help?" growled Travie.
"Because he doesn't want you two to end up as spirits. Normal people can't go in there without being transformed into spirits. Once we clear that Twilight you'll be able to help him." sighed the shadow.
"So just wait here?" asked Reggi.
"Yes." nodded the shadow.
"Keep him safe. If that Twilight clears up and he's not okay then I will kill you!" ordered Travie picking up his weapon.
"I promise you he'll be alright." yawned the shadow receding to the wall.
"Well at least we know he's alright." shrugged Reggi.
"What about the others?!?" shouted Travie. "So we know three of the sixteen people traveling with us are okay. What about Beat, Archer, Allen, Ivy, Alice, Gwen, or Kai?"
"I'm sure they're alright." growled Reggi. "They're all stronger than us. They made it farther into the contest than us. Have confidence in them."
Travie froze in his tracks and looked at his friend. "What?" he gasped.
"Have faith, they are all strong." repeated Reggi. "I know they're safe."
Travie slumped down to the ground and sighed. "I guess you're right."
Richard stared out of the window and saw strange insects running through the streets. Every now and then one would burrow underground.
"Those things look suspicious." he muttered.
"Don't bother. The moment you go after one of those bugs three behemoths fall from a portal in the air." sighed Isaac.
"Heh, don't worry. We watched a few friends take some of these things down before. Kai, Strafe, Ivy, Vak, let's go take care of those monsters." laughed Richard.
"It's about time." yawned Strafe.
"Let's get to it." growled Vakanos.
Kai simply stretched and drew his thin katana.
"I doubt you need five to handle three of those things. I mean three of us cleared out an army. I'm sure one could easily stop them." reasoned Ivy.
Kai walked up to the door, then turned to face the TerraSlider. "He said all of us because he has faith in us. Besides, he doesn't want to risk losing anyone. But if it makes you feel better, I'll handle it on my own." Kai opened the door and walked out.
Richard gritted his teeth and ran out after Kai. "You're not going out alone." he growled.
Kai smiled, and pointed behind at the building they just exited. "You've got to stay to lead them. You're the one best suited to lead. Trust me, I've got this."
Richard stopped in his tracks and stared at Kai. "You better get back soon." he ordered.
Kai saluted and marched off to find either the strange shadow monsters or the insects.
Richard walked back inside and was immediately attacked by Alice.
"Why'd you let him go out alone?"she shouted pinning him to the ground.
"Simple. He has my trust, I know he'll come back safely." replied Richard calmly.
Before Alice could respond an earsplitting shriek ripped through the air.
Ivy immediately burst out the door with her blades on her shoes. She glided through the streets followed by everyone able to fight. They all reached the center of the square to find Kai polishing his sword with a rag. Laying on the ground was four shadow monsters, but before anyone could say anything the monsters vanished in a plume of dust. The dust flew into the air into a black and red portal in the center of the sky. The portal then vanished for a brief second, them reappeared as a blueish-green and black portal.
"I said I could handle it." stated Kai. "There are a few more in the town. Look, three more portals." he said indicating three spirals in the air.
"Well, looks like I'll get a chance to play." laughed Strafe. "Anyone wanna come with?"
Allen and Peter followed after Strafe as he ran off towards the farthest portal. Ivy went with Alice and Ai to the closest portal. And Vak, Archer, and Richard went for the final portal with Kai following them.
Before everyone went off Kai warned them, "You need to be sure to kill the last two at the same time, or else they'll bring the others back up. I had to learn that the hard way."
Everyone made sure to remember that. As the groups reached the portals they were attacked by the creatures.
The group who reacted the fastest was Ivy's group. Ai had several of her shadows jump above them to stop the monsters from falling on them. Alice gave the first to fall a skull-cracking blow to it's head. Ivy jumped into the air and kicked the second with the bladed shoes. The second fell onto the ground with two large gashes in what represented the head. Ai had her shadows all attack the last two to keep them from recovering.
"Damn it!" growled Alice. "Someone finished before us."
Ivy and Ai looked to see the portal farthest away changing to the greenish color the one Kai had cleared was.
Under the portal Strafe and Allen laughed with Peter.
"Too easy." laughed Allen.
"Looks like the girls finished theirs." noticed Peter pointing out the portal changing colors.
"Heh, I bet Ai did the best job." laughed Strafe.
Peter sighed and started walking back to the fountain. "We should wait in the town square for everyone else."
Allen nodded in agreement. "C'mon Strafe, let's get going."
Strafe followed behind them, still boasting about Ai.
Richard and Archer ran on the rooftops of shops and bars while Vak and Kai ran in the street, all sharing the same target. The final portal.
"Everyone else is done." smirked Kai.
"Just us left." sighed Vak.
"Let's get this over with." growled Richard.
Vak and Kai ran into an open pathway in front of a church of some sort. Richard jumped down next to his friends and motioned for Archer to stay up there.
"The Temple of Time." murmured Richard.
"Look out!" shouted Kai pushing himself forward taking a slash to his arm from a massive claw.
The monster that dealt the blow then fell to several arrows sticking out of it's head. Vak picked up his halberd and prepared for a fight.
"Ready Richard?" he laughed.
"Hell yeah." smiled Richard. "But there should be others, where are they?"
"Guys! They split up! They all went down the alleyways, and if what Kai said is true, we need to kill them all at once." shouted Archer.
"Shit!" growled Kai. "Malirse besechen!"
Vak looked at Richard puzzledly and Richard shrugged.
"I'll try to take one of them out, there should be three running loose now, right?" shouted Richard looking to Archer.
"Yeah, I'll go on the rooftops and take out the one that goes on the side opposite of Vak's."
Kai growled and drew his sword. "I'll go down the other alley, in case Archer can't keep up."
They all took off chasing the fleeing monsters. Archer noticed that Kai seemed angry, which was strange. Kai was always calm, strong, and fun, similar to Beat. But now Kai seemed like something snapped. The entire time he ran he was muttering "malirse besechen".
Beat woke up to a man shaking him.
"Grimsley! Wake up!" urged the man.
"Let him rest, he needs to recover after last nights ordeal." hushed a girls voice.
Beat's eyes flickered open and he realized the two were part of his dream.
"Ganondorf, Nabooru. Good," he paused trying to guess what time it was. "Err, umm, err." he stammered. "Ah screw it, Hi!"
The two visitors laughed at his antics and told him why he was being visited.
"So the Gerudo here are in danger like our own tribe is." sighed Beat. "I guess being the most feared makes us the biggest form of a threat."
Ganondorf gritted his teeth, and glanced at Nabooru. She nodded as if giving him permission to do something.
"The main threat are those three guys that work for Skull King. They also have a monster of some sort helping them." explained Ganondorf. "They have a feeling you'll find the next Sage Warrior, and another one of his Sins."
Beat gritted his teeth. "Damn, they sent me here to find another one of them."
"Pretty much." nodded Ganondorf.
"At least you also have a chance of finding the next Sage Warrior." shrugged Nabooru.
"Yeah, I have Light, Water, Shadow, and Spirit to find. No telling which it is I'll find." grumbled Beat.
Ganon looked at Nabooru who looked upset now that Beat was angry. He shook his head and turned to Beat. "Try Spirit, you're headed there anyway."
Beat smiled slightly then laughed. "Yeah, I guess you're right. Alright, I'll look for Spirit's Sage Warrior."
Beat then woke up to the sounds of construction echoing through the town. He climbed out of bed and found a freshly folded white shirt and clean pants sitting on the dresser next to a note. Beat grabbed the note and glanced over it.
"'Saw you got sick, hope these are alright. ~Dinah'. Hmph, always leaving things with a stupid note." grumbled Beat crumpling the paper.
He quickly changed clothes and headed down the steps. There he found Anju's mother preparing breakfast.
"Good morning ma'am." nodded Beat.
"Ah, good morning Beat. I'd hate to be a bother, but could you go to town to pick up a few groceries for me?" asked the kindly woman.
Beat thought about what he needed to do, but decided to help anyway. "Sure, I'll pay with my own money. It's the least I could do after your hospitality."
"Oh, don't do that! We couldn't ask you to buy all our groceries with your money!" interrupted Anju coming into the kitchen.
"Don't worry, it's not a problem. I have plenty of rupees. I'll go get what you need." laughed Beat. Before either could complain he grabbed the list and ran out the door. Outside he saw some petticoats practicing their routines for the carnival. Kafei sat under the overhang reading a flyer.
"Hey Kafei, what's that flyer say?" asked Beat.
"Hmm?" asked Kafei looking at Beat. "Oh, hey. I'm just looking at this wanted poster. Setton has been driving me insane. He always escapes me and Viscen. I'm at wits end."
"Oh, sorry." sighed Beat.
Kafei ruffled Beat's hair and stood up. "Don't worry about it. Need any help with that list?"
Beat smiled and nodded. "I still need a tour around town."
"Oh yeah, you need to see the sights while we shop. Let's get the things that won't spoil first. That way we have more time." nodded Kafei.
"Okay, let's go." laughed Beat.
"It's about time." muttered Midna as Link finished off the monsters guarding the spring Ivy had showed him.
Link growled, "I would've finished faster if you had helped me!" he wanted to say.
"Don't you growl at me!" snapped the imp.
"You of the altered shape, holder of the mark of Farore that has been turned into a blue-eyed beast. Please help me by restoring my light!" called the spring weakly.
"How do you expect us to do that, oh powerful light spirit?" snickered Midna.
"Light Spirit?!?" thought Link.
"Take this vessel of light, destroy the insects only seen by those with heightened senses. Collect the tears of light and free this land of Twilight." explained the weak voice.
Link took the vessel that formed and placed it on his back. Midna sighed and tied it down.
"You owe me for letting you do this." growled the imp.
Link flicked his tail so it hit Midna making her stumble. She then tightened the ropes making it hard for him to breath.
"Don't anger me wolf-boy. Let's get going and free your precious princess." snapped Midna.
Link felt the ropes loosen as he ran off in search of the insects the light spirit spoke of.
"I can't believe this." growled Kai.
"Relax Kai, it's done." sighed Richard.
"Malirse Besechen!" muttered Kai.
"What does that mean anyway?" asked Vak.
"Huh?" replied Kai looking at the Vakan.
"What does that phrase mean?" growled Richard.
"Oh..." stated Kai realizing something they didn't know. He started to sweat as he explained the meaning.
"Kai!" snapped Vak. "Saying something like that in front of Archer!"
"I'm very sorry, that's the old me talking." apologized Kai profusely.
"Old you?" asked Richard.
"I did some bad things before I entered that contest." shrugged Kai, ending the conversation as Archer ran up to join them.
"Everyones finished, let's head back to our carts." laughed Archer.
"Wait," hushed Kai. "do you hear that?" he asked.
"Hear what?" asked Archer.
"I can't hear anything." sighed Vakanos.
"Me neither." agreed Richard.
"I hear a crackling sound. It's weird. Never mind let's go to our carts." sighed Kai.
Author's Notes:
Link and Midna destroy shadow bugs, Kai tells his story to the most trustworthy people in the group, and Beat and Kafei embark on their journey.
Link was getting sick of these bugs. He had filled every section of the vassal except one. And the last bug was on the lookout tower. There was no way he could jump from the roofs up there. Midna wouldn't do it either, but Link doubted she would help anyway.
"C'mon hurry up!" urged Midna kicking Link's sides.
Link bared his fangs and tried climbing up the ladder. He lost his footing at the seventh rung and fell. This was going to take awhile.
"Hmm?" murmured the imp. "Looks like somebody opened portals into the Twilight. Around the castle too. Maybe we should check there for someone who could help you."
Link nodded quickly. "Good, somebody is on my side here." he thought. But then he realized what that meant, the enemy took over the castle! He urged Midna to warp him and she smiled.
"Alright dog, let's go." she laughed snapping her fingers.
Kai sat in his cart recalling his time before joining Beat and everyone else. He sighed to himself. "It's all behind you now Kai."
"So what did you do before deciding to come with us?" asked Richard sitting down next to him.
"Let's just leave it at bad things." muttered Kai. "I wouldn't have the friends I have now if I was still that way."
Richard shrugged in indifference. "I doubt it. What happened in the past won't affect who you are now. We know the Kai that's here with us, but I think we all want to know the previous Kai." yawned Richard as he stood up. "I'm not gonna make you talk, but here's a little advice. Beat told me about his past full of suffering, reliving the pain. You can do it too."
He then walked off leaving Kai behind. Kai looked at his cleaned blade and traced paths he had seen blood go down. He sighed as he sheathed it and headed to join the rest of his friends.
"I can do it, I can admit my mistakes." he repeated as he walked.
Beat and Kafei returned to the kitchen of the Stockpot Inn, arms full of groceries.
"I don't think we needed this much." gasped Anju.
"It's not just for the kitchen darling." explained Kafei. "I'm going to help Beat for a while. He says that bad things are happening at Great Bay, and I trust his instincts."
"Besides, we overheard somebody say he saw Setton headed for the ocean. So Kafei has a chance at catching him." added Beat separating his supplies from the kitchen's.
Anju tried to argue but her grandmother put her arm on Anju's hip.
"Child trust them. Something evil is happening in the ocean." she nodded.
Beat grimaced at that and quickened his pace. "I wish I had my sword, but I'll just have to stick with magic." he sighed.
Kafei ran off to the mayor's residence to grab something he said was "extremely necessary".
Beat stood at the West Gate tapping his foot impatiently waiting for Kafei. The guard refused to let him pass even though he had seen him talk with Kafei.
Kafei ran up to join Beat with a cloth covered package strapped to his back. He had a look that said "I'm not telling" in his eyes, so Beat just sighed and followed his elder.
When Beat looked at Termina field again he felt like something was off. He could see the same dark clouds he saw when he was with his friends over the ocean.
"That's strange." muttered Kafei.
Beat felt uneasy as they proceeded towards the darkness.
Travie sat impatiently outside the wall if Twilight, polishing his weapon. Reggi kept looking around nervously.
"What's wrong with you, you freak?" growled Travis.
"I just feel like something's wrong. Look, that weird wall is spreading out all around Hyrule field!" explained Reggi. "What if it shrinks around us?"
"Good point." nodded Travie. "I'm sure Link can handle that area, so let's go check out the field. Lon Lon Ranch is out there, so they may need protection." he suggested.
"But I won't be able to help though. All the supplies for my bombs are in the carts." sighed Reggi.
"Don't worry, I'm sure they'll lend you something that you can make explode." laughed Travie getting up. "C'mon."
"All right." muttered Reggi shrugging his shoulders.
When Link opened his eyes he was standing in the fountain in the town square.
"Hmm, there are four portals open here." yawned Midna. "Somebody's been busy. I don't think you'll be able to get any tears for Eldin here. So let's find someone who can help us and get out of here."
Link nodded in agreement and started roaming the streets.
Kai walked up to Richard and Ivy and told them his story. He figured he'd start with the most trustworthy people in the group. Ivy was taken aback by Kai's story, but Richard showed no surprise.
"I figured it was something like that." sighed Richard.
"So, you really did those things?" asked Ivy.
Kai nodded sadly. He was about to say something when he saw a creature walking up to them. He grabbed Richard and Ivy and pulled them back.
"What are you doing?!?" shouted Richard.
"Don't you see that thing?" growled Kai.
"What thing?" asked Ivy nervously.
"That wolf!" spat Kai drawing his sword.
"I don't see anything." muttered Richard walking off.
"You seem off today." sighed Ivy following Richard.
Kai stayed where he was and stared at the wolf.
"He see's us." cackled Midna.
"So there's more than just a wolf." growled Kai advancing on them.
Link wanted to say it was him, but he couldn't talk. Kai kept getting closer bringing the sword closer to it's target. Kai began to raise his sword when an arrow whizzed by and struck his sword.
Kai and Link both turned to see Archer and Navi standing at the end of the street.
"Don't hurt the wolf Kai!" pleaded Archer as he ran towards him.
"It's a monster, just like the other things we found here." stated Kai flatly.
"No it's not. It would've attacked you, but it just sat there." argued Archer looking at Link.
"Two of these spirits can see you, they must be gifted." muttered Impa.
"It's not anything I've seen. It's more calm than a wolfos though, I can say that much." chimed Navi.
"Now that you mention it, I do feel like I've met it somewhere before." sighed Kai. "Sorry about that, I was trying to protect my friends." laughed Kai rubbing Link's head.
Link knew he'd get Kai back, just not as a wolf right now. Impa them jumped up and waved in front of Kai making him jump.
"Ah geez, an imp. Don't do that!" growled Kai.
"I need help from of one of you two. I think you'd be the better choice." Impa said to Kai.
"Neither of us are going to..."
"I'll go!" offered Archer, cutting Kai off.
"Archer reconsider this!" growled Kai.
"The wolf is good. I don't know about the imp though." replied Archer.
Midna laughed at that statement. "You may be able to see us, but you won't be able to help."
"It's not gonna be me." muttered Kai.
Link walked up to Archer and looked up at him. He looked to Midna and nodded.
"Fine you stupid mutt. If you want to come with us come on kid." sighed Midna.
Archer straightened his quiver and followed the imp and wolf.
"Be careful." ordered Kai.
"Yes sir." laughed Archer.
Beat sat in front of the strange wall while Kafei looked at his map.
"This is the entrance to the Great Bay, but this thing is blocking the only way." sighed Kafei.
"Evil things are behind this wall. I can feel dark power back there." growled Beat.
"Well, we can't get in there." noted Kafei as he touched the wall with a stick that went flying into the sand.
The sand then started to boil, as a swarm of leevers began to rise. Beat jumped in front of Kafei and focused on making the sand erupt in flames. But he only managed to make a small wave of flames go towards the monsters.
"Right, you can use magic," stated Kafei looking at Beat control the fire.
"Not that well though." muttered Beat between clenched teeth. "I'm still trying to get control over it."
"Well sorry Grimsley, but you'll have to try harder!" laughed a familiar voice planting his foot in Beat's back.
Beat slid across the sand and turned to face Jacob. Kafei tried to unwrap his package but was pushed down by Edmund.
"Alright Wraith, do it." yawned Edmund.
Then a long claw snagged Beat through the wall and dragged him through it, leaving Kafei alone with Jacob and Edmund.
"So, which of us gets to play with this guy?" laughed Jacob.
Kafei dropped the cloth revealing a full Razor Sword. He had made sure this one stayed shard, and paid for the blacksmith to make it so it'd keep it's edge.
"I'm ready for you!" growled the purple haired man.
Archer quickly climbed the ladder and kicked the bug down. As it splattered across the ground Link collected the last tear. Archer quickly climbed down to follow the wolf to the spring. When the large owl made of light appeared Archer jumped back in surprise. He looked up and saw the dark sky fading into a clear blue sky. He looked back to see Link standing where the wolf had been.
"Link?!?" gasped Archer.
"Good work Archer. Now where should we go to get rid of this weird Twilight?" laughed Link.
"So you knew the kid, that's why you trusted him." yawned Midna appearing as a shadow.
"Midna, this is Archer. Archer, this is Midna who is a complete..."
Midna pushed Link down into the spring interrupting him. Archer laughed when he noticed the path was empty now.
"Where's Travie and Reggi?" asked Archer.
Link then remembered his friends said they'd stay there until he was done. "They left?!?" gasped Link.
"Not my fault!" exclaimed Midna holding up her hands.
Reggi looked over his shoulder and saw the Twilight clearing up by Kakariko. "Travie look! Link did it!" he laughed.
Travis looked back and smiled when he saw it was true. "Let's go back and get Link to help us protect the ranch." he suggested.
"Right!" nodded Reggi starting to run towards the town they just left.
Beat looked into the eyes of black dragon with blood red eyes.
"Remember me Grimsley?" roared the dragon.
"Not particularly." growled Beat, trying to escape the grasp of it's massive claws.
"I possessed Edmund during the competition. I was the more fearsome version." snarled the dragon.
"The one with wings." spat Beat. "I remember now."
"Ready to die?" laughed the demon.
"Now Wraith, remember our orders." sighed Clovis stepping onto it's head. "We're only supposed to rough him up. Oh, and relax Grimsley, it's gonna be easy to get rid of the Twilight covering all of Termina. Just need to free the four giants."
Beat gasped in pain as the dragon released him. He fell to the ground and looked up to see the demon dragon fly off.
"Tata Grimsley." waved Clovis.
Beat started to rise, but fell down. He felt strange in the Twilight. He gasped in pain as the Twilight began affecting his body, making him writhe in pain. He howled in agony and soon fell unconscious.
Author's Notes:
By reading this title you'll find there's something related to transforming in this chapter.
Kafei fought hard keeping Jacob and Edmund at bay. He had to deal with Jacob slashing with his two hook swords while Edmund attacked with a sword typically used by a knight.
"C'mon and give up already!" growled Jacob.
"I'll take that pretty little sword of of your's to." snickered Edmund.
Then an earsplitting scream came from behind the wall of Twilight. Jacob and Edmund stopped and looked at each other.
"Is he supposed to scream like that?" asked Edmund nervously.
"No, he was supposed to just be left as a spirit!" shouted Jacob. "Somethings gone wrong!"
Inside the Twilight Beat was going through an agonizing pain. His face burned and he felt as if he was being torn apart. He felt something inside him stirring, as if it awaited the Twilight. He struggled to stay awake, but he was soon pushed into subconsciousness.
Link and Archer walked through Kakariko looking for everyone. Midna stayed hidden in Link's shadow as they looked for Zelda. When they found her she looked relieved.
"Link, Archer, good to see you both. Where's the others?" asked Zelda.
"In the Castle Town." nodded Archer.
"Really?" asked Link.
"Oh right, yeah everyone else was there." said Archer.
"Beat?" asked Link.
Archer shook his head. Link gritted his teeth.
"Damn it." he growled.
"What happened to Beat?" asked Zelda.
"Archer, why don't you explain to the princess what happened." yawned a man in a green mask dropping down in front of Link. "I've got business to discuss with Link."
"Green Spirit." muttered Link. "Take care of things Archer."
"Okay." nodded Archer.
Link followed the spirit to a secluded spot and was then grabbed by the shoulder.
"Listen Link, your friend needs you." growled Green Spirit. "Beat is in Termina, and he's trapped in the Twilight."
"But he has the Antriforce so he'll turn into some animal like I did." smiled Link.
"Uh no. The Antriforce turns people into monsters in Twilight." snapped the spirit. "And he won't have any control over himself. He needs you to clear the Twilight and save him."
Link swallowed a lump in his throat. "If Beat was that strong when they fought, and if Beat really was holding back, there's no way to tell how strong he is now!" he thought.
"Get your ass moving. We need to get to Great Bay." ordered the spirit.
"Wait, I need Archer to come with me." growled Link. "He can help me get the insects out if my range!"
"There are no shadow insects there. They imprisoned the giants, and you've gotta save them." sighed Green Spirit clapping his hand to the mask.
"But I'll be a wolf, and won't be able to fight." argued Link.
"Just trust me." growled the spirit. "Now c'mon!"
Link sighed and pulled out the Ocarina of Time. He played the song of soaring and felt the wings embrace him as he traveled to the owl statue in Great Bay.
Archer saw the large wings spread as he walked back to Link. He saw Link get carried away and groaned. He was being left alone.
"Hurry up Reggi!" he heard a friendly voice shout.
He turned to see Reggi and Travie running up to the village. He laughed and ran to see them.
"Guys!" laughed Archer.
"Archer!" shouted Travie running up to the Kokori. He picked up the boy and spun him around. "You're alright!"
"Is everyone else here?" asked Reggi.
"Uh, no. They're all at the Castle Town." sighed Archer.
"I thought Link was here." muttered Travie. "How'd you get here?"
Archer sighed and started telling them what happened while they headed for the castle town.
Kafei ran at Jacob and grabbed him by his neck. "What is happening to him?" he snarled.
"I don't know!" grunted Jacob.
"Jacob let's go. We've gotta report to Skull King!" muttered Edmund.
Jacob nodded and the two vanished. He growled and ran to the wall of Twilight. "Help us Giants!" he looked up and saw a strange object soaring through the sky. It crashed through the Twilight and went through it. "That is a start." he muttered slightly confused.
Link appeared in the Twilight and Midna jumped up from his shadow. Green Spirit appeared and planted the Fierce Deity Mask on Link's face. As Link turned into the form that helped him defeat Majora and Beat he noticed the Twilight wasn't changing him. He stood with the his sword strapped to his back.
"There you go. No wolf and you can use a sword." laughed Green Spirit.
"I liked him better as a wolf." yawned the imp.
"Shut up Midna." growled Link.
"Just don't take the mask off." warned the spirit. "If you take it off you'll be stuck as a wolf."
"Right." nodded Link.
Beat felt cold. He opened his eyes and found himself bound to a wall of some kind. He could see a person standing in front of him with his back turned to him.
"Who are you?" groaned Beat.
"I'm you. The you that has all your full potential." laughed the boy turning to face him.
Beat gasped in fear when he saw the him that killed everyone in his nightmare. He had the black marks on his face and a scythe at his side.
"Let me out!" shouted Beat.
"I'm in control now." spat the other Beat. "Now be a good boy and go back to sleep."
Beat struggled to break loose but the bindings tightened.
Skull King wasn't happy. He witnessed the occurrence in the Terminean Twilight. Jacob and Edmund were nervous. Clovis was unaffected.
"You're more like Sloth." muttered Edmund.
"This may actually help us attain our Wrath." murmured Skull King. "I'm going on my own to Termina."
"But milord..." began Jacob.
"Trust him." yawned Clovis. "He'll be fine. He found each of us on his own. If he gets this Grimsley we'll have our strongest sin join us."
"Strongest?" muttered Jacob.
"I'm going now." stated the King.
Link swam through the water to the shore and looked for Beat first. He found a part of the sand that was scorched and figured it was Beat's doing. He continued walking around looking for signs of his friend. He saw a strange boy wandering around in the sands. He didn't seem to be a spirit, but something was strange about him. He twitched a lot, and muttered to himself.
"Hey you!" shouted Link running up to him.
The boy screamed and ran away, jumping into the water. Link watched him swim to the lab and climb the ladder.
"That was weird." muttered Midna. "He should've been a spirit."
Link ignored her and kept walking. "I should wake up the Island Turtle. He can take me to the temple." thought Link. "Better play the Song of Soaring."
Midna watched Link pull out his ocarina and listened as he played the song once again. She saw the wings sprout out and jumped to him as the wings cradled him. Midna felt herself take flight as they flew somewhere.
The small trio walked to the edge of Kokiri Forest. Archer saw the wall of Twilight and began to walk towards it. Travie had to grab him by his shoulder to keep him from making the same mistake he made.
"Easy kiddo, you won't be able to go through that without help from the inside." warned Travie.
"Link had to be pulled in by some imp." nodded Reggi.
"I see. Then how do we get in there?" asked Archer.
"Um excuse me?" called a girl running towards them.
Travie turned to see a young Vakan girl running towards them. He felt his heart skip a beat as he tried to find the words to say.
"Um, I Uh..." he mumbled, "What can we do for you?"
"I was trying to get to the Castle Town, but there's some strange wall blocking the way. Do you know anything about it? I'm sorry if I'm disturbing you." she explained while bowing her head.
Reggi smiled and walked up to the girl. "We don't know much about these strange walls, but we do know it is dangerous. I advise standing a few paces away."
"Thank you." she sighed. "I'm Bianca."
"I'm Travis." smiled Travie.
"My name's Archer!" laughed Archer.
"And I'm Reggi. Nice to meet you Bianca." nodded Reggi offering his hand.
"Hands off her!" snarled a red ball circling around her.
"Oh wow, I've never seen a fairy like that!" gasped Archer looking at the glowing ball.
"Cinder, calm down." she sighed. "They were being polite."
"I don't trust these lowlifes!" growled the fairy.
"What kind of fairy is that? asked Reggi.
"Cinder is my contract Flare Fairy." explained Bianca. "He's a bit overprotective."
"Flare?" muttered Reggi?
"Oh for Din's sake!" groaned the fairy flashing red. As the light cleared a boy with skin covered in zoo and fiery orange hair stood between them and Bianca.
"I'm different from those healing fairies and fairies paired with Kokiri. I was named by Bianca when I decided she was the one fit to be my contract partner. When she named me the contract was formed. I'm a Flare Fairy, which means I control fire, and can grant my powers to whoever I trust. But I only work with Bianca." explained the boy.
"Can all fairies like you do that?" asked Archer.
Cinder looked at Archer and smiled. "Not all fairies. Just the ones in contracts. I'm sure you're fairy can't do it."
"I don't have a fairy." sighed Archer.
Cinder looked at the boy apologetically. "Sorry. I'm sure you'd be a good partner for a fairy that has an element power. You look like a good archer."
Archer laughed at that.
"What's so funny?" asked the fairy.
"His name is Archer." smiled Reggi.
Then they all laughed at that. Travie was hoping they'd go wherever Bianca went. That way he'd get to know her better.
Kafei paced back and forth in front of the wall and growled in frustration. "C'mon Beat."
"Ah, I found you." smiled a boy walking up to Kafei.
"Thomas?" gasped Kafei. "Thomas you're alright!" laughed Kafei running up to his old friend. "I thought you've been dead for this whole time you've been gone!"
"Sorry." laughed the Terminean. "I got lost in Stone Tower."
"It's been three years, you've missed a lot. The moon almost crashed into the town."
Thomas looked at Kafei, looked at the moon, and looked at the town. "No way." said the boy. "Yeah, this kid saved us all. His name was Link, and his friend was helping get rid of this weird black wall stuff. But now he's stuck back there and it's too dangerous to try going in there."
"Hmm. It doesn't look all that dangerous." muttered Thomas walking up to it. Then he was immediately grabbed by a shadowy claw. Kafei reacted faster than last time and grabbed his old friend.
"Kafei, let go! I heard you were married, don't make Anju become a widow!" shouted Thomas. Kafei let go just as he was about to go through it.
Kafei was left alone again, awaiting the return of any of his friends.
