“Link? Link wake up.”

Link slowly opened his eyes. For a second, he didn’t know where it was.

‘Oh… yeah. I’m on the run from the fairies of death and their leaders: Rekhyt and Navi.’

His best friend, Saria, snapped him out of his thoughts. “You’ve been here for a week…”

“Yeeeaaahhh. And?”

Saria rolled her eyes, “Soooo tell me why you’re still here.”

“Eheh! I guess I—sure! ‘Kay!”

Saria had given Link a look that said: ‘Tell me or you’re goin, back on the run buddy boy!’

The boy sighed and said, “Ah okay. You win. It started a few months ago.” Link told the girl what had transpired. “’Kay! Y’know I ditched Navi. I didn’t tell you why. Here’s why: She wouldn’t let me sleep. I went and got a new fairy… BUT Navi and my new ‘friend’ were brother and sister. They pulled a prank and every fairy in the forest came over to my house to annoy the crap out of me.”

Saria cut him off, “Ohh so THAT’S where Soren went!”

“Ahem!” Link coughed loudly; “May I continue?” Saria nodded. The blonde continued, “I ran out of my house screaming. I made my way to Goron City and I hid like a coward! But,” he sniffed, “they found me. So I ran to Zora’s Domain and froze my butt off… I hoped they wouldn’t find me.”

“But they did?” asked Saria.

“Yes.”

“So you came here? I was wondering why all of the fairies…not Soren… were chasing you here…”

“Oh hey! I’ve been meaning to ask you this… where did you get that Fairy Repellent? I really, really need some!”

                                 Chapter 2 Fairy Repellent

Link was in bed staring up at the ceiling. He was running over what Saria told him about the Fairy Repellent.

‘Where’d I get it?’ Link nodded enthusiastically, ‘Okay! I got it in the Market-‘

‘Market? Whoa, whoa, whoa! Really? I go there every once in a while. I don’t see anything.’

‘Really? It’s pretty easy to find!’

‘Huh. I can’t find the shop… but you can’t really blame me. It’s always sooo dark and-‘

Saria cut him off, ‘You go at NIGHT?’

Link nodded, ‘Well duh! If I didn’t, the 'Death Squad' would catch me!’

Saria rolled her eyes, ‘So the great ‘Hero of Time’ isn’t afraid of Ganon but IS afraid of fairies?’

‘Pretty much, yeah! But you don’t know what it’s like! They’ll annoy you to death! But in the Treasure Chest hunting game, I’m able ta’ play for free! Only if I have a fairy with me.’ Link sniffed and wiped his nose, Saria sighed and Link continued, ‘If I don’t get some of that Fairy Repellent… I’m going to go insane!’

“Well,” Saria thought, “THAT’S already been accomplished!” ‘Okay…’ Link looked up, ‘just go tomorrow. Or I’ll make you go. Okay?’ she finished sweetly.

‘Man, no wonder you’re the Sage of the Forest!’

‘WHAT?’ Saria screamed. She raised a fist as if to hit Link.

‘AHH! Okay, okay, I’m sorry! Uh watch this…’ Link being the idiot that he is… smacked himself in the face! ‘Ouch! That hurt!’ he groaned, rubbing his head.

‘Well no dip sherlock! Just go to bed… we’ll talk later.’

‘Yes mother!’ Link quickly regretted saying this. Why? Saria had grabbed a frying pan and was hitting the boy upside the head. ‘Alright, alright. I’m going. Sheesh.’

Link sighed and closed his eyes. He was in the living room on the couch. Saria got the real bed. Link rubbed his head and closed his eyes. He was just about to go back to sleep when he heard a noise. Knock, knock! His eyes snapped open and he slowly rose up and looked at the door. He heard some chatter.

‘Who could be calling at this time of night? I should check it out. Huh. To do or not to do?’ “DO!” Link quickly clapped his hands over his mouth.

He tiptoed over to the door and opened it.

“HIIIIIIIII LINK!”

“AHHHHH! THIS IS A NIGHTMARE!” he screamed.

“Heh, heh! You wish…’Partner!’ Are you gonna go run to Saria?” asked Rekhyt, Link’s old fairy partner.

“Hey!” Link spun and saw Soren, Saria’s black fairy partner. Link had quickly befriended him. Link noticed that Soren was holding an aerosol can. The words, Fairy Repellent was on it.

“Get out!” yelled Soren, spraying: Navi, Rekhyt, Affa and all of the rest of the ‘Death Squad’.

“AH!” yelled Rekhyt; “We’ll be back! Haha!”

Link and Soren looked at each other and Link asked, “Who are you? Arnold Swartznegger?”

“Yes, yes I am!”

“I said ‘Get out!’” Soren sprayed them all again and Link pulled out a frying pan.

The ‘Death Squad’ left.

“What’s going on?” Link and Soren turned. Saria was in the hallway.

“Uh…” Link paused, “nothing?”

“Oh. Okay well… I’m going back to bed.”

“Uh ‘kay. You do that!” Link flashed her thumbs up.

“In the mornin’ Link!” whispered Soren as he flew over to Saria’s bedroom.

Link sighed and moved over towards the couch. He lay down, closed his eyes and slept. In the last week, he had had no dreams but now… he had one.

“Fairy Repellent! Sugar!” he mumbled in his sleep.

Link awoke to someone poking him.

Short again. My bad. ^.^

                                        Chapter 3 Onwards!

“Wha? What?” he looked over and saw Saria standing over him. She was holding some Fairy Repellent. Incidentally, the exact same one that Soren had used the night before.

“Well?” she asked in forced calm.

“Uh heh! Well what?” Link asked innocently.

“WHAT?” she screamed, pulling out a frying pan.

‘Where does she get those?’ the boy thought.

Saria advanced with the pan.

“Soren did it!” he yelled in blind panic.

“Don’t you blame Soren! He wouldn’t!”

“B-but he c-could.” Link squeaked.

“SOREN!” Saria yelled in fury.

Soren quietly flew down the stairs and when he was right behind her, he asked, “Yes? You called?”

Saria jumped about three feet in the air. Li9nk had to cover his mouth or else he would’ve burst out laughing. He really wouldn’t want to do that right now. His head was still sore from the last time Saria had smacked him with a pan.

When Saria recovered, she turned and her hand shot out, and grabbed her black fairy.

“Tell me the truth, did you or did you not use the last of my Fairy Repellent? Is this little boy-“

Link cut her off. “I’m not little!” he stated defiantly.

“You’re eight years old! You…are…a…KID!”

“But… Hey, don’t forget, I saved you life!”

“Yeah. When you were sixteen years old. I see a BIG difference!”

“Ahem!” Soren coughed. This time… Saria and Link jumped! They had completely forgot about the fairy. “Okay, here’s what happened. Link was trying to get to sleep but he couldn’t. He heard a knock at the door,” he spoke very fast. “He opened the door and saw Navi, Rekhyt, and Affa.”

Link cut him off. “Hey! How did you know that?”

Soren smirked and replied, “I heard you scream ‘DO’! Really funny!”

Link glared at Soren.

“So I grabbed your last can of Fairy Repellent and went back downstairs. I aimed the Fairy Repellent and Link found one of your frying pans. I sprayed them and Link tried to hit them with the pan. They left…” Soren finished by saying, “I hoped that you wouldn’t notice! Heh!”

Saria growled and made to swat the fairy but Soren flew behind Link’s head. Link slammed the back of his head against the wall. Soren let out a little squeak before he passed out.

“Well now that he’s gone, things’ll quiet down some! Right?”

“Yeah… buuuut…”

Link didn’t like the sound of that. “But what?”

Saria smiled sweetly, “Oh nothing. Just… you have to go all the way to Hyrule Castle,” Link began to protest but Saria raised a fist and Link shut his mouth. “And buy me some more!”

“What if I don’t want to?” he asked. He was pushing his luck, but didn’t care.

“If you don’t… I’ll lock you out of the house and you can go live elsewhere!”

Link gulped, “Fine.” He muttered. “You win. I’ll go!”

“Thought so!”

“When do I go?”

“Tomorrow!”

Link sighed and got ready for bed.

When he woke up, Saria was standing over him. He let out a girly shriek and leapt up. Saria’s face turned red and she shook with mirth.

He glared at her and looked around for his hat. He saw it floating closer and closer. “AHHHH! HAUNTED HAT! PANIC!”

Saria giggled and picked the hat up. Soren popped out and was laughing. Link’s face turned red from embarrassment. Even his pointy ears went scarlet. “Give me that!” he grabbed his hat out of Saria’s hands and plopped it on his head.

“Sooo! Are you ready for your big adventure?” she asked tilting her head.

“Oh, shut up!” he snapped. “I have enough to worry about.” He looked up to see Saria standing there holding the Kokiri Blade, his Deku Shield, and his spells: Din’s Fire, Nayrue’s Love, and Farore’s Wind.

“You said that the only way to get a discount is if you have a fairy with you, right?” Link nodded dumbly. “Okay! Soren will go with you!”

“Oh joy!” Link and Soren said in sarcastic unison.

“Well, off ya’ go!” she stated.

Link gulped, “N-now? Oh fine.” He equipped his items and sauntered over to the door and looked out.

‘No fairies! Good!’ thought Link as he stuffed Soren in his hat.

He stepped out and instantly, he heard a buzzing. He spun and saw half of the ‘Death Squad’! He screamed and took off towards the exit of the forest.

A little longer, right? ^.^

That Wasn't A Great Idea by Moon_Flower_Chikita
Author's Notes:

Jeeze! That chapter title is worse than the last one!! But please enjoy!

~Chikita~

                         Chapter 4 That Wasn't A Great Idea

Link came to the bridge and stopped running. He looked behind him.

"Whew! Looks like their gone!"

He was feeling very proud of himself. Until, that is, Soren spoke.

"No you didn't! Look behind you, pretty-boy."

Link slowly turned and instantly wished he was back in Jabu-Jabu, fighting Barinade.

Behind him, half of the 'Death Squad' was following. They stopped just before the bridge. Link smirked and called, "Good job comin' this far! But I'm going ahead and you can't get me! Hahahahaha!"

The faries looked at him with mock surprise. "Really? Well what's that ahead of you then?"

Link looked in front of him and started.

The other half of the 'Death Squad' was in front of him. His mouth opened wide in shock.

"Oh that's not fair!"

Just then in desperation, Link got an idea.

"Eureka! I got it!" he yelled. He pulled out his favorite spell, Din's Fire and smirked at Navi, Rekhyt, and Affa. The faries slowly advances and Link slamed his fist onto the bridge. 'Oh the pain!' he screamed in his head. Nothing happened. The boy blinked.

'Ugh.' thought Soren. 'No wonder he's a blonde! Who writes this stuff anyway?' "Link, you need to say the spell name you idiot!" he yelled.

"Oh yea! Thanks! DIN'S FIRE!" he screamed.

The spell came to life and the fire burnt the bridge and Link smirked.

"Ha! Try and get through that you little puff-balls!"

Just then... the bridge was gone. The boy looked down.

"Ohhh. CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!" he screamed as he fell.

'That boy is such an idiot! The bridge was made of wood. Fire burns wood.'

CRASH!

Link had fallen head first into a tree stump.

The fairies looked down and Navi finally spoke up.

"Lets get him later. We all know where he's going anyway so it won't matter."

The fairies left.

"Ow."

That was the one thing Link could manage to say before he passed out...
