Deku Scrub Link by EWizard

2-Deku Scrub Link

Link just couldn't believe what he was right now, a Deku Scrub? And that pesky Skull Kid continues to laugh at his horror.

“Hee hee! Now THAT’S a good look for you!” Skull Kid laughed.

“What the…There’s something covering my face!” Link cried as he felt his face.

“That’s right you fool! You’ll stay here like that forever!” then Skull Kid began to-well paddle-away, from laughing so much.

“No wait! Take this thing off me!” Link began chasing after Skull Kid until the white fairy stopped him. She hit him several times, making him fall on his bottom.

“Hey!” Link exclaimed as he fell. The fairy responded by sticking her toung at him. Over behind a doorway, the purple fairy stopped and turned to face the other fairy.

“Sis!” he cried, before the huge door slammed shut with a BOOM. The white fairy whirled around and zoomed to the door.

“Skull Kid! Wait for me! Tael, you can’t leave without me!” She slammed herself into the door several times, trying to open it, but couldn’t. She sighed, before whipping around to face the Deku boy.

“You!” she exclaimed as she flew over to him. “If I wasn’t dealing with you, my brother and me wouldn’t of been separated!”

“Well, that’s kind of your fault.” Link stated as he stood up.

The fairy harshly smacked him upside the head. “Shut up and do something Deku boy!” the fairy screamed. “Why don’t you just open that door over there for me?”

“Why should I help you? You attacked me, and stole my horse and ocarina!”

“Whatever! C’mon, a helpless little girl is asking you to! Just do it and hurry up!” Link huffed, he wanted to protest, but he needed to get out of here. And besides, if he could open the door, then he wouldn't have to stay here forever and he could get his ocarina and horse back. So, Link went over to the large door and placed his hands on the door.

It was prety hard since he was a Scrub, and Deku Scrubs don't tend to have super strength. But, maybe that wouldn't make too much of a differance from who he is. He tried pushing the huge wooden door upwards. Not budging at first, but soon, the door easily slid up. The both entered the next area before the door slammed shut behind them.

"Who are you and where's this Skull Kid?" Link immediately asked after they left the room.

"Tatl," the fairy said.

"Where'd he take Epona?"

"Who's Epona?"

Link's face tightened. "That was the HORSE you guys STOLE!"

"What?"

"Tell me, or else I WILL leave you here…ALL alone!"

"But I don't know where they went!" Tatl cried.

Link glared at the fairy, before slowly walking up to her. Tatl trembled as she slowly flew back away from him until she was against the wall.

"I mean it Tatl! Tell me now! I'm losing patients here!"

Tatl squeaked as she flew to the other side of him. Link whipped around to face the fairy.

"Okay okay!" she cried. "Um, maybe he's in Clock Town."

Link crossed his arms. "And where's this Clock Town?"

"This way!" she began to lead the way as Link followed. Soon, it was like they went through some type of portal. Then a door closed behind them.

The room was a little dark, with the foor and walls covered in moss, giving the room a dark green color. The small stream was dull and filfy, due to the moss that seemed to be at the bottom, yet it was hard to see. There was this giant waterwheel that made a creeking sound with each turn. There were gears also, wich were filthy and probably could use some oil soon. The sound of those gears and the small splashes of water together almost drowned out the creeking noises of the waterwheel.

"Whoa…what is this place?" Link looked around, in awe. He followed the fairy up the wooden ramp that circled the waterwheel.

He was now at the top, and stood about a few feet away from a large wooden double-door. The went over to the giant door. Whoa... He was about to push it open until...

"You've meet a terrible fate, haven't you?" Startled, Link slowly turned around to see who it was. It looked like the same guy from the happy mask shop in Hyrule. Link jumped as Tatl hid behind him.

"I own the Happy Mask Shop, and I travel far and wide in search of masks." the man spoke. "During one of my travels a very important mask was stolen from me by an imp in the woods. So here I am, lost, and now I found you."

Link stared at him with a confused look. "W-what? Me?"

"Now, don't think of me rude but I've been following you. I know a way for you to return to your former self."

"How?" Link asked, curious.

"Well, if you can get the precious item back that was stolen from you, I will return you to normal."

"Really?"

"But in exchange…"

Oh no... Link thought to himself.

"All I ask is that you also get my precious mask that the imp stole."

"……"

"What? Is that not a simple task? To someone like you, it should be no difficult task."

"Well of course not," Link muttered. "Look, I'll make sure to keep my eyes peeled for it."

"Why that's good, but…I'm a busy fellow, and I have to leave town in three days. How grateful will I be if you had brought back the mask before my time here is up. Ah yes, you'll be fine. I see you are young and have tremendous courage. And I'm sure you'll find it right away."

I hope so…

"Anyway, I'm counting on you." Link then turned around and went back to the large door and pushed it opened as sunshine spilled in the dark room.

So, this must be clock town. Yes, only a part of it. There are three other parts to the town, well four including the Laundry Pool.

"That guy gives me the creeps!" Tatl said abruptly.

"Tell me about it," Link said. "But let's try to find his mask and my ocarina."

"But we have to find Skull Kid too!"

"I know! So let's began to search."

"Yeah but all in three days? Even if we don't sleep, that still leaves us with a measly 72 hours! Talk about demanding!"

"Yeah, that may not even be enough time. We really need the ocarina then. So…let's find Skull Kid."

"Wait just one minute!" Tatl flew in front of him. "We need to see the Great Fairy!"

"But why?"

"Well, if we're gonna find Skull Kid, we have to see her. She'll know what he's up to, she watches over everything. And between you and me, Skull Kid is NO match for the Great Fairy. Let's go to the shrine near the North Gate. You'll find her in there!"

"Alright then." Link went to his left and up the ramp. "Um Tatl, where IS the North Gate?"

"Oh for crying out loud!" she then went up the other ramp in back of the Clock Tower. "This way!" Link then ran up the ramp and went into the north part of Clock Town.

"Yep, this is North Clock Town." Tatl said. "Now come on! The shrine is this way!" Link followed her up the slope and into the shrine.

In the Fairies Fountain, Link saw nothing but a huge group of fairiesin orange flying around.

"Oh no! The Great Fairy!" Tatl cried.

"So, now what?” Link asked.

"We have to bring her back together. Uh, it looks like we need one more fairy to bring her back to normal."

"Really?"

"Don't just stand there! Let's go look for one!" Link exited the Fairy Fountain and went back to South Clock Town.

"Hm, I think I saw one wandering around over at the Laundry Pool."

"Where's that?"

"This way!" Tatl flew over to the top of the steps behind a mail box. Link followed her to the Laundry Pool and saw an orange looking fairy floating over the pound.

"There! That's the same color as the other fairies back at the fountain!" Link looked at the fairy, then at the water underneath it.

"How am I suppose to reach it?" Link asked, looking down at the water.

"Uh, jump!" Tatl snipped.

Link just went over to the pound. This was a problem, there's water. And Link didn't recall seeing a Deku Scrub swim. Link sighed, just because HE'S a Scrub himself doesn't make too much of a difference. He still can't swim, not in his current form. Link then took a deep breath and made a big jump and caught the fairy. He ended up at the other side of the stream.

"See, now that wasn't hard was it?" Tatl said.

"Well no, I didn't even know I could jump on the water instead of sinking." Maybe it was because I'm pretty light.

"Please hear my plea!" the fairy in Link's hand spoke. "The masked Skull Kid has broken me apart and scattered my pieces! Please return me to the Fairy Fountain in North Clock Town."

"Now let's go see the great fairy!" Tatl said as she zoomed out of the area.

"Hey wait!" Link called as he followed her back to the Fairy Fountain. The orange fairy left Link and joined the other fairies and they all formed into the Great Fairy.

"So that's…" Link thought.

"Tatl and young one of the altered shape." The Great Fairy spoke. "Thank you for returning my shattered and broken body back to normal. I am the Great Fairy of Magic. I thought that masked child was helping me, and I grew careless."

"Skull Kid…" Link said to himself. That's funny. I thought Tatl said the Skull Kid couldn't even compete with the Great Fairy.

"Now: I shall grant you Magic Power as a sign of my gratitude, please accept it!" Then she held out both hands as an orange light surrounded Link, giving him some magic power. Suddenly, Link felt a little different, he has magic now. But, how can he use it?

"The man at the observatory outside of town should know about Skull Kid's whereabouts. But be careful! You must not underestimate the child's powers kind young one. If you are to return to your former shape, come see me and I shall give you more help." Then the Great Fairy disappeared into the spring.

After leaving the shrine, Link wondered, what now? He saw a blue balloon with the same mask Skull Kid was wearing.

Hm, maybe I should test out my new powers on that balloon. I mean, I can pretend it's Skull Kid. I can release all my anger and frustration on Skull Kid, on that balloon. Link went over to the balloon. Payback Skull Kid. Then, BLOOP! Link shot a bubble through his mouth and it popped the balloon.

Whoa, so that's what it does! Heh, now to do that to the real Skull Kid.

"Hey Deku Scrub!" a boy in blue shorts, red bandanna, white and blue shirt with the 1 on the back called him over. Link went over to him.

"Aren't you the one who just popped that balloon up there?" he smirked and nodded in approvement. "Not bad for a Deku Scrub! We Bombers have a hideout that leads to the observatory outside town. And you need a code to get in, maybe I can tell you what it is!"

"Great! What is it?" Link asked the boy.

"Now hold on! Don't think you're getting it that easily! I can't just tell you the code."

Link cocked a brow. "Why not?"

"You have to pass my test first. You ready?"

"Sure."

"Alright! Line up guys!" then four other boys suddenly came out that had the same outfit as this boy, only with blue banbannas and different numbers on the back of their shirts.

"???"

"If you can find all five of us by tomorrow morning, I'll teach you the code! Are you ready?" then all the kids immediately scattered around town. Link sighed, does he really have time to find all these kids?

Link, eventually found the leader, the one he talked to not too long ago, and tagged him. Now there's four more. Then he found another boy, with the 5 five on the back of his shirt and tagged him. Now there's three more, this was actually easy.

Link then went to East Clock Town to find the rest. There, he climbed up the stairs behind a bar and saw a boy with the 4 on the back with a cuccoo and jumped down. Link followed him and tried to tag him, this one was hard to tag. So, he shot a bubble at him, making him sit. Hey, that's kinda like tagging.

Now there's two more. Link saw a kid with the 3 on the back on the balcony of the little inn. Though Link saw a flower over there. Maybe, he could burrow in and use the flowers like helicopters to reach him. So that's what he did, but the boy jumped down. Sigh...So he jumped down after him and got him with his bubble.

Now just one more! So he went to West Clock Town and saw a boy in front of the post office with the 2 on his back. Once he tagged him, they were all back at the park lined up again.

"You're pretty good for a Deku Scrub!" the leader said. "If only you were a human, then I would give you an original Bombers' Notebook and make you a member. What do you guys think?"

"No way! No Scrubs!" the rest chanted.

"I guess not. Once, we let some kid who wasn't human in our group. Boy, did we ever regret it! Sorry!"

Let me guess, Skull Kid, right?

"But I'll teach you the code just like I promised. I can only tell you once, so pay attention! Are you ready?" then they all turned around, the numbers going 23541.

"The code is 23541! The entrance is in East Clock Town!"

Link exited and went to the east part of town. He saw a boy who looked just like the others, only with a gold bandanna standing in front of some passage way. He went over to the boy.

"If you wanna pass through here you have to say the secret code!" the boy said. "So, what's the code?"

"23541!" the Deku boy said.

"Umm, that's right! If you know the code then you're a member. Ok, here you go!" then the boy stepped aside. "There's a lot of cool stuff at the telescope guy's place! Oh yeah, and The Bombers Secret Society of Justice forever!" Link then went through the tight space to the underground.

"This place is almost like a sewer!" Link thought as he looked around. It was dark and filthy. After battling a skulltulla, Link came across the same balloon he popped in North Clock Town. He shot a bubble to pop it and climbed up the latter to a room.

He climbed up the multi-colored stairs and found himself at the observatory. The room was changing colors between blue and purple. He went up to an old man at the large telescope.

"Well well, a strange looking child has joined me today." He said. "Are you a new friend of the Bomber gang?"

No.

"Your manners seem much better than your mischievous friend from the other day."

Skull Kid?

"That ill-mannered troublemaker said he'd break my instruments. He said he'd steal my Moon's Tear. There was no stopping him. Even now! And just watch him! He's probably causing trouble at Clock Tower. Gaze into my telescope and you'll see." Link then looked into the telescope and saw Skull Kid on top of the Clock Tower.

Skull Kid then looked up at the moon, which caused Link to look up and saw a giant moon. Something fell from one of the eyes of the moon and crashed next to the observatory. He looked back over to Skull Kid who taunted before disappearing.

"Did you find that troublemaker?" The old man asked Link. "And what was that loud noise? Perhaps another Moon's Tear has fallen nearby. Go and take a look outside. But I wonder how that trouble maker got on top of the clock tower."

Link went outside and collected the Moon Tear, then he went back inside and went back to town. He went to South Clock Town and gave the Moon's Tear to the Akindo Nut.

"That stone, you must give it to me!" The Akindo Nut said. "In exchange, I'll give you my spot here, Deku Flower included yes?"

The two then exchanged items "You really helped me out! Now I have the perfect souvenir for my wife! The title deed for this spot should be in high demand among Deku Scrubs, but you already know that. If you don't need it anymore, you can always sell it!" he burrowed into his hole before flying away.

Link looked at Tatl. "Now what?"

"We just gonna have to wait until the door to the tower opens."
