The King of Hyrule quietly lay his head down upon the velvet pillow beneath his head. His white hair appeared as a cloud to himself, as he restlessly fell to sleep. An evil entered his chamber, slaughtering his loyal guards adjacent to his room. The demon murdered the King, and fled as it heard the call of its master, now that the deed was done. Many guards raced towards the dead king's chamber, and all solomnly stared at there great ruler, now dead. The hope of the grand kingdom began to flag as the funeral of the great king approached. The greatest King they ever had was dead before their eyes. Now their eyes fell to the princess, who took the loss hardest of all and who the people loved, more than Edward the Kings older son. The young Princess Zelda, of Hyrule. Age six. Her older brother, Prince Edward of Hyrule, age nineteen. His jealousy of his sister grew, as did his hatred for the people of Hyrule. He was to be King! He was to be their ruler. Enough foolishness, as he decided had been wasted on his young, useless sister. "All shall love me and despair!" the young prince exclaimed. No more shall the people love this worthless Princess Zelda! Guards!" The young man yelled. "Kill the princess before the sun rises in the morn, and you shall keep you heads!"

Word of Edwards evil plot found its way to the young maidens nursemaid, Impa of Karillian, the old village of Karkariko. She warned the young girl of the murderes coming her way. Without the acknowledgement of any one hylian in the castle, the princess fled near the hour of the mid night. She was never heard from again. Many years passed, and Edward believed the princess to be dead. He jovially ruled over the kingdom, but peace was never seen. He was now 26, and still, the people did not love him as they had Zelda. Hatred brewed inside his mind for the ignorant little subjects as he called them, evil thoughts filled his mind, as he began to realize the truth, as in the legen of the Hero of time, where the evil King Ganondorf had been trapped inside the sages sacred realm, he began to yearn for the power Ganondorf had not recieved. As his hatred grew, he plotted a betrayal of Hyrule and began plotting to release Ganondorf from his prison. Ganondorf escaped with Edwards help, and Hyrule's hope failed more and more with each day. Their princess was assumed to be dead and Ganoddorf had returned. This time, there was no hero to save them...
Chapter One ~ Seya by Sage of Light
In a vast desert, thousands of miles from a great castle, many paths that were once apparent become easily hidden from those who are chosen to travel them.

A young girl raced through a great fortress, built of stone, mud, sand and straw. Her sandy golden hair was tied in a tight ponytail, whipping the back of her neck, with each stride she took. She wore an exotic outfit, of vibrant colors. A light pink sleeveless top covered her chest and slightly baggy, see-through pink pants covered her legs. Her feet were protected by silky pink shoes, with surprisingly hard bottoms. Shoulder-length gloves hid her arms from her wrists to slightly under her shoulders. Her midrift was bare, with the exception of a small diamond placed on a belt like rope fastened around her waist. Her brilliant blue eyes flashed as she angrily shouted for one of the elders of the fortress she was in. It happened to be the gerudo fortress, of the gerudo tribe. A tribe of female thieves, with one male to rule them every one hundred years.

"Aleno!" The girl shouted. "Aleno! where are you?" " What are you shouting for Seya?" a rather strict looking gerudo replied to the young girl. This gerudo had long, slick orange hair, and had nearly the same outfit as Seya, but more jewels lined her midrift. "Half of the soilders believed there was an intruder!" the woman said harshly. "Aleno, where were you? I've been searching throughout the fortress, and I almost began to believe you left for the colossus!" Seya stated plainly. Seya was obviously not a gerudo, considering she had pointy ears rather then smooth, rounded ones. Also, not one gerudo in the history of all their existence had ever had blond hair, but from the way she acted and fought, and if you ever took her up in battle, you would never consider these traits because you would be dead before you could. Also, her skin was rather tan, so she passed and was accepted by her gerudo fellows as a true gerudo.

"Aleno! I heard E'la talk about you heading for the colossus, but then I knew it couldn't be true! You aren't going there are you?" Seya asked curiously. "Seya, you have become more of a young woman now. You are of the age to decide things for yourself, you are fourteen, the second year of the grand climactic. You are a woman to us! You have no need of my guidance any longer!" Aleno returned, becoming annoyed. Why was it any of Seya's bussiness if she was leaving for the colossus anyway? But still, she sensed something special from Seya.

"So...you are going then, aye?"Seya asked. "Yes, I am,"Aleno stated. "But why? why do you have to leave me? I" Seya was cut off by Aleno. "Seya, I can not tell you why now, but promise me, you will stay in the fortress and in my chambers as ordered?" "Yes Aleno," Seya replied, bothered by being treated like a child. "And," Aleno continued,"you will not leave my chamber after nightfall?" "Aleno!" Seya began. "NO!" Aleno firmly shouted. "No, there have been spies spotted in our midst, of the Hylian family, retrieving information for Ganondorf King, and his dog, Edward Prince. They know we have a great treasure hidden in the fortress, and they will try and take it from you...us!" Aleno corrected herself, for she knew more about Seya than Seya herself, and his her predictions came true, it would mean the end of Hyrule. Maybe even the world.
The Desert Colossus by Sage of Light
Aleno prepared a small pouch in which she would be carrying food supplies for a four day journey. The desert Colossus was fiftythree miles away and Aleno wanted to reach it within four days or less. Seya sadly helped Aleno finish the preperations for her travels between training sessions. She had easily passed the gerudo training grounds, but now she was learnig to fight without her sword or bow. Seya rarely bragged but she addmited she had one of the most deadly shots in all of gerudo valley. The sun beated harshly down upon the large stone structure. The stones remained cool, but the atmosphere remained humid and hot.

Aleno finished storing the last of her food when she asked Seya to return to training. She did as she was told and Aleno left silently during the mid afternoon.

The sun set and the moon rose over the great valley, bringing the refreshing cool breeze, but leaving the rocks of the fortress warm. Seya walked swiftly through the fortress, stopping every so often to peer out one of the large holes in the walls that acted as windows. She stared up at the stars then returned her gaze to the gerudo's guarding the enterence to the fortress. The grand watchtower towered high above her head and Ieani glanced thoughtfully back to Seya then returned to her duty. The enormous goledn gate however, was out of place, it had been raised and now was creaking back towards the sand covered dirt.

"Why has the gate been raised?" Seya asked herself. "Aleno!" Seya raced towards Aleno's chambers to find it empty. In the night, without Aleno's cheeful items being lit by Aleno's usual fire, the room seemed dank, dark and depressing. "I can't believe she left without saying goodbye!" Seya fumed. She exited the fortress, breaking her promise to Aleno and ran towards Ieani, who could give her her needed information. She quickly climbed up the tall ladder, the air becoming colder as she did. "Ieani, tell me, when did..." The top of the tower was forsaken, not a soul in sight. "Ieani?" Seya asked gently as a rustling noise was heard from behind her. She slowly turned, and placed her palm around her small, curved dagger. Seya felt she could not return to the ground by ladder. She decided instead to jump over the edge of the tower rail and follow Aleno to the deser colossus. She did know the way, although she was afraid, but she figured it was better than going back to the fortress.

She had made the right desicion.

At the foot of the tower, climbing up the ladder was a spy of Ganondorf. It was, in fact, Edward Prince of Hyrule, clothed in black armour with a large sword at his side. He discovered that very night the fools to whom he had assigned the simple task of killing a six year old girl had failed. He was ordered by his master to find the girl and bring her to him. Edward had reason to believe she had run to the forest of Kokiri, and had ordered many of his thousands of soilders to burn the forests until nothing but dirt remaind. However as Edward returned the next day, all 50 of his men had been killed by and unknown force. However they all had died the same type of death. They were all killed by a sword, and engraved in every back of the 50 dead men was the symbol of the old royal family of Hyrule. The Triforce. Edward had recieved information from a gerudo watchgirl that the leader of the gerudo's was currently placed at the desert colossus, and her advisor had just set out. Also, he recieved information of a more delicate gerudo following the advisor from another gerudo guard. Angrily, he silently left the valley of the gerudo to prepare an army to ambush the advisor and recieve information, any way possible on the whereabouts of his sister, Princess Zelda.
Sudden Meeting by Sage of Light
Aleno ran swiftly through the desert, seeing only through her squinted eyes. The desert was not a calm place, even at night. A large sandstorm was closing in on Aleno, and she was just barely escaping it. "I hope Seya listened to me," Aleno thought, seriously doubting it however. Her footprints quickly dissapeared as she reached a quarter of the way to the Colosuss.

A small, stone shealter would be her resting point for the night. She silently climbed down the ladder into the sandy celler type room. She was distressed by the sight of a group of soilders of Ganondorf King, sleeping in a circle, with none other than Edward Prince in the center. "How, how did he get here before me?" Aleno whispered. Edward stirred and sat up quickly. He slowly turned his head, searching the pitch-black room. Nothing. He saw nothing. He slowly lay his head back down on the hard stone and began to snore as loud as an Cow once again.

Aleno silently removed herself from a large stone hole within the wall of the tiny shealter. "Close..." she whispered. She climbed back out of the structure and raced quickly away from it. Back inside the room, Edward Prince smirked as he woke up his fellows and prepared to follow the Gerudo.

Seya saw ahead a small shealter, the same one which Aleno had just fled. Her energy, however, was leaving her body quickly and she passed out right in the middle of the sandstorm. A young man about her age, fourteen, found her and carried her out of the wasteland and farther away from danger.

Seya woke up on a small carpet, which was floating in the air. The sandstorm had vanioshed, but still the humid atmosphere of the desert remained. "Wh, where am I?" she asked quietly. The young man turned towards the Gerudo. She looked at him, startled. "Don't worry m'lady, you're safe now," the boy said with a smile. "M'lady? um... yeah, so, who are you?" Seya asked, feeling quite rude. "Me?" the boy asked stupidly. "Do you see anyone else here?" she snapped, becoming annoyed, and feeling less rude. "Well excuse me! I happen to be the one that saved you!" he shouted. "Save me? From what?" she asked angrily. "From the sandstorm, you would've been buried under a thick blanket of sand if I hadn't come along and saved you!" he said, smiling proudly, "I carried you from deep in the desert to the enterence of the Gerudo lands." "You mean at the back enterence of the Gerudo Fortress?" Seya asked quietly. "Yup!" the boy smiled, hoping she would now be grateful. He was insainly wrong. "YOU IDIOT!" Seya fumed, "I was heading for the Desert Colosuss! Now because of you, kid, I have to start over!" The boy winced slightly when she said the word "kid." "Who is this girl anyway?" he thought angrily. "Hey, who are you, and where do you get off calling me kid? And why were you going to the Colosuss, it's really dangerous out there, especially without an escort!" "My name is Seya, and I was going to the Colosuss because I..." Seya started, becoming frightened remembering how silent the watchtower had been. "Well Seya," he began, "I'll help you back to the nearest town, umm, where do you live?" "Hmm? No, I'm not going home, I'm going to the Colosuss." Seya replied. "You really shouldn't" said the boy. "Hey kid, what's your name, I can't say I recoginze that particular getup either. Where're you from?" she asked. "Me? well my name's Link, and I'm from the... the Southern Forest town, Kokikirra." stated Link, hesitiating slightly. "But, why are you going to the Colosuss, alone I mean." He asked curiously. "Well Link, if you have to know, my, my friend left for the Colosuss yesterday, and I wanted to see what was so important." Seya said, beggining to forget Link was there. "Your friend went out there alone?" He asked startled by this news. "Yes, but she's one of the most skilled Gerudo warriors we've had in a long time," Seya started plainly, watching Links mouth fall open. "Hey kid, you okay?" she asked nervously.

"Your a, a Gerudo?" he stuttered. "Um, yeah," Seya said back, beggining to think Link had some hearing problems. "And your, your not gonna throw me in the cell thing, or shoot me with an arrow?" Link asked, stupidly, again... "Why would I? You didn't do anything to me, besides get me severly off track," she replied. "Really?" he said. "Yeah... I have to go now, er, good luck kid. Love your hat by the way, goes with your hair." Seya said as she jumped off the floating carpet onto the sand carpet, ready for the long journey ahead. "Umm, thanks, I guess," Link shouted as he watched the strange Gerudo girl run off into the desert. Although he knew this was their first meeting, he knew it wouldn't be their last.
Greeting at the Colossus by Sage of Light
Two days had passed and Aleno was only twelve miles away. Rather pleased with herself, she decided she deserved a break. She found the third shelter of the desert and slowly entered. The sun was still high above the vast desert. The sandstorm was picking up speed and becoming immensely worse. Aleno practically fell back onto the warm stone, and fell asleep quickly, unaware of the body climbing slowly down the wooden ladder.

Seya was unhappy to the sight she beheld. An empty shelter. Remains told a story that only a Gerudo could understand. Many people had been here, she could tell from the many trails of sand. Plus, the torches were still lit, which was an obvious clue someone had recently been there. Seya guessed the group was present at least two days ago. One thing didn’t understand that on the ladder, there was a trail of sand that didn’t touch the floor, like a person climbed down the ladder and climbed back up immediately. “Oh well,” she sighed as she exited the chamber. Link hid behind a large boulder as he watched Seya emerge from the tiny shelter. Curiously, he followed her as she raced off yet again. “Goddesses she’s fast!” he huffed as he ran after her.

Edward Prince smirked at the Gerudo advisor. “Dream sweetly,” he hissed. He removed himself from the shelter and mounted his black horse, determined to reach the desert Colossus before her. The group of soldiers followed their master and galloped quickly towards the massive statue rising up from the sea of sand. Aleno sat up, sweating, knowing an evil presence had just entered the room. “No, it… it couldn’t have been,”Aleno sighed, still searching the room. She decided to rest when she reached her leader, rather than risk anything happening.

Seya ran as fast as a horse through the sandy atmosphere determined to find Aleno. Quickly, she came upon the third and last desert shelter. Without thinking she rushed inside, tripping over a small clump of sand in front of the entrance. She fell headfirst into the small room below, and fell unconscious. Link followed her as fast as he could through the entrance, just in time to watch her fall. He climbed down after her, and checked for a pulse. “Ah, good. She’s only been knocked out,” he said, relieved. He pulled out a small pouch of water and squirted a bit on Seya’s face. She coughed up a small amount of blood and stared into the face of the kind person who had helped her. “L Link?” she said, coughing slightly. “I’m glad to see you’re awake. You fell really hard,” he said smiling brilliantly. “Oww! My butt really stings,” Seya moaned. “I’m not surprised. Do you have anything to change into? Your pants have a big tear in them near the knee,” he stated. “What do you care?” she snapped, becoming rather annoyed, again… “Hey! Where are you going?” Link shouted as Seya prepared to leave the shelter. “I’m really close now, I think I can catch up with Aleno,” she replied, climbing up the ladder. “Well this time I am going to come with you, you need my help!” Link boasted as he followed her out. “Fine, just don’t get in my way,” she said.

Aleno ran so fast she seemed to be flying. She could see the Colossus clearly now, and the deadly desert wind had begun to die down. It hadn’t taken her that long to reach her destination, only three days and a few hours. “Bout an hour more and I’ll be there!” Aleno thought happily. An hour had passed and finally, she was there. But her happiness was stolen away. She spotted Edward Prince and his soldiers, killing her master! “You, you …” Aleno couldn’t find the right words. “Ahh, m’lady,” the Prince mocked, “just in time to see your beloved master fall.” Aleno was speechless as she watched them stab a sword right through her master’s gut. She starred angrily at the Prince. He laughed triumphantly at the shocked Gerudo. “Now it is your turn m’lady,” he hissed.

“Aleno!” Seya shouted spotting her friend near the entrance to the desert Colossus. She was rather relieved to see Aleno safe. “Seya?” Aleno whispered. “No, they’ll, they’ll hurt her!” Aleno thought anxiously. “Aleno, are you alright?” Seya asked nervously as she approached her friend. Seya began to notice those surrounding her. “Aleno, are they soldiers of Ganondorf?” she questioned, feeling sick. “Yes Seya, they are,” Aleno whispered in response, “Run Seya. Run.” The soldiers fired arrows at Aleno and her body crumpled to the floor. They laughed victoriously, but Seya had already begun to run. “Seya what’s?” “Run!” she shouted cutting Link off. “Again?” he moaned racing after her. They were unaware of the man following them, who was none other than Edward Prince.
