Chapter 7: Victory





Link and and the Assasin lunged at each other, weapons clashing together. The Assasin didn`t have any shield to defend him with, but he just dodged Link`s slashes, and he noticed the glow on the master sword, the sword the kills evil. He wondered about what he should do. The Assasin saw that the building he was in was on fire.
"Antony! Patrik! Get out of here!" Link yelled, covering his eyes from the ash falling from the roof.
"Alright, but make sure you get out safely also!" Antony replied. He turned away and left, Patrik following him. A long piece of burning timber fell and seperated the Assasin and Link. Without hestitating, the Assasin pulled out his bow and fired an arrow at Link. Link lifted his shield and blocked the arrow, but when he lowered his shield, the Assasin was gone. Link went for the exit of the burning building, but Link saw that the door was covered in flames. He couldn`t see straight and started to feel dizzy because of the overwhelming smoke of the place. Link fell down the the ground, the darkness relieving him.

"Come on Link, get out of there!" Patrik said, feeling worried. The building was surrounding with fire so neither Antony or Patrik could get in. A villager who was standing beside Antony and Patrik noticed that somebody was stuck in a burning building. He was fairly tall and had short black hair, and he turned to Patrik.
"I`ll go get whoever`s in there," the man spoke. He broke through a window and looked around. He saw somebody lying on the ground who was coughing a lot. He threw him over his shoulder and left the building through the broken window. Link woke up and stood on his own feet, and looked at the man who saved him.
"Thanks." that was all Link could say.
"Anyway, what`s your name? My name`s Patrik, this is Antony, and this is Link." Patrik greeted. The fighting around them slowed down a bit.
"Name`s Malcom." he said, showing no emotion. Malcom stepped aside, there was a fairly short person wearing a dark cloak. Link watched the person fight off a group of Terminians that popped up swiftly, and mercilessly. "Oh, and her name is Mariel." Patrik raised an eyebrow.
"Really? A girl fighting in a battle?!" Patrik chuckled, nearly falling to the ground. Mariel got annoyed by this and seeing that Patrik was off-guard laughing, she knocked him down to the ground. Patrik just lay there, suprised.

Roland was still outside the city, taking cover, sometimes using his own men as cover. Roland`s army was somehow losing the battle. He called for retreat and all the Terminians were making their way out of the city.
"I`ll get Link next time," grumbled Roland. His forces were getting surrounded by reinforcements coming in from the north, ready to counter-attack.

Link watched as the Terminians were marching back, and away. The battle was over, but Roland still outnumbered the Hylians, even with the reinforcements.
"Cease fire!" ordered the commander of the band of Hylian knights. Link was trained to become a warrior, not to be in a war. He wanted to go back to Calatia and rest for a while.
"Let`s go." Link said to Antony and Patrik. They said goodbye to Malcom and Mariel, then left for Calatia.
