An unseen hunter
It’s was a typical day in the land of Hyrule, but in Hyrule typical means that were gonna have a bad-ass time. 25 year-old Link had married the 24 year-old princess Zelda. They were both expected a normal day with the normal duties of ruling a kingdom. But this particular day, things were going to be diffrent.....
(I don’t own the Legend of Zelda characters or Predator but Duo is me and totally original.)

(Links POV)
I awoke next to my wonderful wife ,Zelda. Our two kids came into our room My older son Eric stood at the edge of the bed while my younger daughter Laruen crawled into my bed with me and Zelda. The morning sunshine burned my eyes for a second but they soon got used to it. Zelda soon awoke and hugged lauren and then got out of the bed and put on a robe. Today I had a foreboding feeling something was going to happen. I am kind of Deja vu magnet something always happens. Most of time it’s small, but today it was big,very big. I quickly got into the shower and took a rinse and got dressed. I had a funny feeling like I was being watched. But it was most likley my imagination. I had been kind of uneasy ever since Ganon had been banished to the dark realm. But latley, Zelda had been telling me to loosen up and I have, but today I knew something was going to happen. I quickly came down to breakfast. (I forgot to mention to you readers that I live in Hyrule castle). I joined them for breakfast and as always I ate about half my body wieght but with my metabolisim I never get fat. I had just finished my meal when a gaurd came into the dining room, It’s unusual to see a gaurd here so it must have been important.....
(Gaurds POV)
I entered the dining hall to give some disturbing news: One of the cows on Lon Lon Ranch had been brutally slaughtered. It was completly torn to shred with it’s legs being thrown almost two yards away. Sir Link was shocked. (He’s a knight, you know) I myself exaimend the corpse. There was blood everywhere: over the side walls, the fences and even some on the stray chickens that were wandering around. Talon and Malon the owners, were pretty spooked. The grisly sene was quite aghasty. I wanted whoever did this to face the HAPA.
(Hylian Animal Protection Agency) It isn’t my place to judge this monster but I can’t help thinking that this problem wasn’t human....

(Links POV)
I was a little concerned about Malon and Talon because they live on the murder site. I tried to offer them a temporary stay in Hyrule castle but they refused. She said that the ranch was her home and she would’nt abandon it. That’s what I call dedication!! But just to be safe I requested that the ranch be on lockdown. She agreed to the request. Within the hour, gaurds were all over the place examining and interrogating everyone and everything that was there . No one was allowed in without proper authorization. The deliveries of world- famous Lon Lon milk still had to be made, so we had delivery carts hired. They let their lives fall into to our hands and they must have been pretty brave to do such a thing. By nightfall nothing had happened. But I couldn’t sleep I was too worried : What if what happened to the cow happened to others? or even people!! They soon discovered the lower jaw of the cow, the upper jaw and skull had been completly torn off. The next morning I awoke to hear a gaurd saying that a unknown force killed another cow in the simalar fasion.
This time however, someone saw the brutal killing, but did not see the killer!! That was the last straw, I told Zelda my plan: I was going to stay at the ranch that night.

part 2
(Links POV)
I was simply on a stake out. I won’t lie, I was scared, very scared I had my sword and shield with me but I still felt vunrable. It was almost two hours before I heard a sound, the gaurds were in their tents outside sleeping I gave them the night off but I could still tell that they were uneasy . we used the rotting meat of the first cow as bait, we had a pit dug underneath it, two minutes later I saw something. It looked like heat was rising off.I knew it, it was invisible. I looked through my Lens of Truth. It was horrible, it had a futuristic mask on, with no mouth and nose and eyes that glowed like diamonds in the light. it had long, sharp claws and looked like it had a nasty temper, I was scared, really scared.

(Link’s continued POV)

it came closer and closer the pit we had dug. It made some unatural sounds and I knew it wasn’t from here but I could only wonder what it was. Then on its left arm two serrated blades popped out. I was sure that this thing was behind all the trouble. I remained silent: I was too afraid that if it found me I would meet the similar fate of the cows. I heard a snap and a thud and I thought that it was trapped but when I looked up: it was still there. “Wishful thinking” I guess, I kind of figured that it wasn’t dumb enough to fall for that trick. I quickly removed the Lens of Truth from me eye and lo and betold it dissapeared again. It obviously had something that made it invisible but I didn’t know what. Suddenly the rock I was holding slipped out of my hand!!!!!
I quickly dived under the barrel that I had planted for just such an occasion. Its head jerked up in surprise and it let out a high pitched squeal. i hoped that it couldn’t see through the barrel. It came closer and closer. All I could think about was how he would kill me: would it be slow and painful or quick and painless? But to my relief and horror a young gaurd wandered between me and the creature!! I tried to warn him but he could not hear me. The thing was invisible and was about a yard in front of him, I heard another higher pitched squeal and saw three little dots in a triangle formation on the gaurds stomach.I didn’t even have a chance to react before something on his shoulder shot a green blast of what looked like pure enegry,it hit him, I shielded my eyes at what seemed like the brightness of the sun. When I could see again I saw the gaurd, his guts and blood was spewn all over the grass. I was so sick I could feel the hot bile in the back of my throat. He then looked at the barrel and simply backhanded it and hit me in the face then I passed out...




(Captian’s POV)
There was blood everywhere. Our youngest gaurd member is dead. The unknown creature was now to be killed on sight. But this proved to me and my men that it had no qualms on killing men.
(Links POV)

I awoke to a splitting headache. I saw Zelda patting my head with a cool, damp cloth and I wondered if I was dead. obviously not, considering that I heard them say I was alright . I sat up and Zelda hugged me....

(Zelda’s POV)
I was so worried about Link when I found out what happened. I tended to him all night and day long. I myself was dog-tired, but stayed awake all night, I was so relived that he was alright. I also wondered what had attacked him....

(Links POV)
I thought I was dead, but for some reason, It didn’t kill me I was grateful and lucky, but this headache made me wish I was dead. Zelda must have been very relived, she didn’t want me to go in the first place, but this encounter most likely means I won’t be going hunting for it for a while. I wanted to know the status report of the dead gaurd and if it had been apprehended. but to no avail, It had gotten away after killing the gaurd and knocking me out. Later on I went to a meeting of the sages, all of the sages who helped me defeat Ganondorf were present and all the sages ruled their appropriate areas : Impa controlled Kaikario village, Ruto controlled Lake Hyila with her father, Darunia ruled Death Mountian, Nabooru ruled Gerudo valley, Zelda who ruled Hyrule castle,Raru who ruled the Temple of Time, and finally, my best friend Saria didn’t rule but was like a wise woman to the Kokori children. I entered the meeting......

(third person POV)
The meeting of Hyrulian leaders came to order .
“I am worried.” said Zelda she was very scared that this thing might attack her people.
Link had been the only person who could identified this creature. Impa was also concerned that it would attack her people, but remained calmer than the rest. Darunia wasn’t as worried but was still concered about the rest of the people in Hyrule. “I’m scared Link.” Saria said . “I know Saria, I know but I can’t do this alone Link responded. All of a sudden a guy wearing a black cloak entered the room. “What’s going on ?” Duo responded. Duo was Link’s new friend. He was 25 and surprisingly energetic but also wise beyond his years. Zelda never particularly liked Duo, but since he was a friend of Link she knew she couldn’t be rude to him. She calmly asked him to leave, as this was a private meeting. But Link who knew that Duo who was from the future and knew a vast knowledge of furturistic creatures, invited him in. Duo was a inventor of sorts and added to Link’s arsenal quite often. He recently added a recorder to his Lens of Truth to viedotape the sence. Link suddenly remembered that fact, and showed to the party the recording. They were all shocked execpt for Duo. he was simply watching the grisly scene and suddenly grabbed the lens, all the other sages were yelling at him to put it back on. he rewound the tape and stopped it when the creature killed the gaurd and replayed it again and again for everyone to see. After seeing it aobut six times he quickly explained to the rest of the sages what the thing is- “it’s a Predator” Duo responded. A WHAT?? everyone else said in surprise...


(Duo’s POV)
I knew the moment I said that I knew what a Predator is I knew that I had some explaining to do I explained my whole life story to them. They were all surprised and saddened at the story, but this still had not explained what this “Predator” was. So I told them a part of my life I never wanted to tell: I am part Predator. I was a part of a radical new DNA project by crossing Predator DNA with human DNA. This was a shock to everyone, even Link was surprised. I am basically a human with a Predator’s speed,cunning, and every other ability it posses, including the armor and wepons. I had them stored in Hyrule castle in such a situation as this was to arise. I explained that this Predator was a futuristic alien hunter of the planet Yanjas. I explained the procces in which it could become invisible thanks to a cloaking device and explained that the blast Link saw was its powerful plasma caster. But this still left questions unanswed, such as where it came from? or why it’s here? but I could not answer these questions, because truthfully, I did not know. However, I promised that I would hunt the Predator down with its own technology. But I knew that their trust in me would falter because they would think that I’m one of them.....

(Links POV)

I was shocked to hear this new revalation with Duo. But somehow I knew that he wasn’t all human, like the time that we had been trapped in the temple of Isis with the spiked walls, he knew just what to do in less than five seconds. I know now that this reaction must have been the Predator’s cunning in action, but I didn’t realize that was what it was at that time. I myself was dumbfounded as to what to do but he seemed like he knew that place like the back of his hand. It was almost creepy how he knew what to do.
I have a feeling like he is going to ask if our friendship will
be allowed. But I don’t care what anyone says, we still are friends and this will not change anything.But a part of me wants to kill him. Another part asked why I didn’t know it sooner or if he had actually told me. I was angry for a second at why he didn’t tell me, but I quickly pushed that feeling out. But at the same time I wondered if he would be a threat to us all......

(Saria’s POV)
I am so scared, I don’t know if Duo is a threat I may be smart but I AM still a child and I can only wonder....

(third person POV)
Duo removed his sharp dagger from his belt , Link fingered his sword: he still did not trust Duo fully. With an ereeie look on his face, he pushed the edge of the blade against his skin: it peeled off in flakes revealing dark brown skin with black bloches that looked like bruises and on his lower arm was a wide metal braclet. He pressed the button on the top and with a pop, the same wrist blades that killed the animals popped out. Duo could only stand in shame....

(Duo’s POV)
I knew that I would have to tell sombody but I had hoped that these people wern’t them. But it’s too late now; I will simply leave, I don’t want them to think any less of me but it might be too late to change that. I stood up, and simply started to walk away, But a hand stopped me; I quickly said that I would go quietly, and without trouble. But to my surprise I expected to see Link, but it was Zelda!! She explained that I didn’t have a choice in those experiments so she said that I was welcome here in Hyrule Castle. I asked why. She explained that I didn’t have a home so this was to be my home. I felt honored that she accepted me after all that. She even said that I could be knighted!! I was so excited I nearly ran up the walls but I contained myself,Later that day I was knighted
I felt on top of the world, but with the Predator out there I didn’t feel safe. So instead of waiting for it, I decided to find it and kill it. I had to tell Link my plan to kill it....

(Links POV)
I was pretty freaked out when I heard Duo’s plan, but I knew it’s the only way to get it. I decided that we were going to go to each sages region and explain their part of the plan. I travelled all over Hyrule with Duo. We got to all the regions execpt the Kokori Village.....

(Duo’s POV)
We were about to ener the hollow log that marked the entrance to the Kokori village. Something wasn’t right, I turned on my optic scope and scanned the area....

(Third person POV)
Duo simply asked “ Hey Link, is Kokori forest supposed to be so low in temperature? “What?” link said. “Well the read-outs say the place is about 40 degrees Cal...vin.”, “OH NO!!” Duo said. They both rushed into the Kokori forest. The sight that met their eyes was far from shocking. The entire population of the children in the forest were dead. Everyone of the children were decapitated, there heads had been sliced clean off. Duo immediately vomited. Link fell to his knees with tears streaming down his young face: he had promised he would protect them from harm. He had failed, Horribly.

(Duo’s POV)
I threw up on sight of the vicious killing. My blood in my veins started to boil: I vowed that if I died, I would take it with me. I wasn’t about to let it kill another innocent person again. But now wasn’t the time to vow revenge, we had to look for survivors. I only found two: a lone Kokori who was badly injured, but explained the attack.....

(injured Kokori’s POV)
I was scared when that “Duo” entered the forest he looked like that thing I killed my younger sister and tore off her head. I wanted to do the same to it but he just stabbed me and ran around killing my freinds. Mido tried to stop it, but met the same fate as the rest. I don’t know why it didn’t kill me like the rest, mabye he wanted someone to tell the rescuers what happened , but it’s too late even for me. I told them how it killed all the kids but me. They were mad, REAL mad. But I told them Saria wasn’t there: she apparently was taken away by another Kokori and was hidden some where. She supposedly tried get back to the village but was knocked out. Well I feel really tired and sleepy and whenever I close my eyes I can see a man in a cloak holding a scythe: this must be the fabled god of death the “Grim Reaper”. Well, I’m ready for him: take me away to meet my friends and sister I only wish I coould have had a little revenge on the monster who did this to us, but I guess you can’t have it all in life. Well, goodbye....

(Link’s POV)
I failed them. I FAILED THEM ALL! Why couldn’t I save them? Why? I ran up to the living Kokori: his name was Tarpin. I vaguely knew him, but seeing him like this, it felt like I knew him all my life. I swore I would kill it, I wanted him dead more than ever. I quickly found Saria under a huge slab of rock, she was going to be alright! I was semi-relived but I wanted revenge. Me and Duo took her back to the castle: she was injured and tired. I turned and ran out of the forest, Duo soon followed with Saria. I didn’t want to see my failure to those kids: it was far too haunting for me to see. But I swear to kill this thing the same way it killed these kids.

(Third Person POV)
Link and Duo rushed into the hospital wing dropped Saria off in the wing and rushed to the armory. They both grabbed small and large barrels of the most deadly substance in those days: Gunpowder. Duo quickly poured the powder into smaller barrels with prepared fuses and stocked the larger barrels into a caravan. This battle was one they wern’t going to forget. They quickly grabbed the nearest group of gaurds and rode back to the forest. Link attached his lens of truth on a metal headband and slipped it on, so the lens covered his right eye. He armed himself with everything he had: the Master Sword, the Mirror Shield, Longshot, Fairy Bow, as many arrows as he could carry , Megaton Hammer and Biggoron Sword. He was ready and waiting, impatiently, for everybody else......

(Duo’s POV)
I armed my own Plasma Caster and cloaking device I deliberatly painted my armor black so there wouln’t be any confusion. I grabbed my Combostick: a large double bladed sword (Think “Darth Maul lightsaber but metal, and diffrently shaped.”)I opened one blade so it was like a sword, I borrowed a shield from the armory and I was set to go but I still felt a little nervous......

(Third person POV)
The lonely caravan entered the forest. Duo and Link were inside and talking over the plan. They would use the caravan as a decoy and surprise it. They thought the plan was infallable but they were in for a rude shock this thing was ready for it.....
(PREDATOR’S POV)
I’m ready for those weak Hylian fools they don’t know that I’m ready for them. That foolish “Duosis” “the expirament.” He maybe as strong as I am but he still is just a humanoid and can never be one of us. I remember when he was first announced to us at the Kajal tribe from those weak “Yajunta” wise men. The Kajal tribe should be the leaders of our planet, The Yajuta is far too weak to rule. Well, I will kill Duosis and use his head as a trophy, just like all those children and prove that I alone am to face the trials and defeat Alairis to become the head of the planet Yanjas.....

(Third person POV)
The lone wagon entered the forest the drivers of the caravan were completly freaked out. The entire forest was covered in blood. Link and Duo peeked out the sides nothing had changed but they knew it was here they could tell.....

(Duo’s POV)
I figured in case of a hasty retreat i’d get my Chrono 3425 upgrade to teleport to scanned areas. I ran to my ship which was in a grotto under a large rock. Link asked as why we coudn’t use the ship but I explained that it was out of fuel. I took his map and scanned it and sure enough I could go to any location in Hyrule. We entered the forest and we saw a trail of blood leading into the lost woods. We traveled all the way to the sacred forest medow I scanned around, and saw it. It had begun....

(Third Person POV)
IThe caravan stopped in front of the predator hulking over a dead deku shrub and was beheading it. Link and Duo burst out of the compartments they were hiding in and threw the smaller lit barrels. The Predator turned around and with a swift kick sent it flying back! Link stood paralayzed with fear while Duo did the only thing he could: fired his plasma caster. The barrel exploded: the shockwave of the combining chemicals had blown them all back. Duo, however hit a rock with his head and was knocked out. O.K., that’s it your going down! Link yelled!
He unshead the master sword and mirror shield and rushed at the predator. The predator stood still and waited: It knew that Link was to do this. The predator simply sidestepped the thrust intented for him, but in a surprise move, Link hit the predator in the face with the pommel of his sword and slahed at the mask of the predator. The predator recoiled in surprise: he had sorely underestimated the resourcefulness of these humans. He thought these humans were weak and stupid. He was too overconfident, but he still these humans were still going to die at his hands.

(Link’s POV)
I am surprised. I thought that this thing was going kill me quickly, but I guess I overestimated him! Things were going good so far....

(Duo’s POV)
My head.. oww. That hurt my helmet is okay, but I had a temporary concussion. I jumped up to see Link slash at the predator. I quickly opened up one side on my combostick and grabbed the shield on my back and rushed to join him. We double-teamed him he activated his double bladed combostick and fought us for what seemed like eternity.....

(Third person POV)
The sound of clashing metal was all that could be heard. The predator could not fend off two skilled warriors, so he had to resort to drastic measures: making a distraction and taking a hostage. He ran back to the caravan and did the unthinkable: shot his plasma caster at the explosives!! A huge explosion rocked the forest. All that was left of the caravan was a 5-foot deep crater. The predator’s tribal instincts made him slice off the heads of the drivers and make them into tropies like the rest. Link and Duo entered the danger zone and saw it. The predator’s face mask had cracked, and Link saw the a glimps of what true fear is. It’s eye was crimsion color with white pupils and before anybody could react, he threw the severed,bloody head of the driver at them. Link put his sword into a defensive position and sliced the head clean in two. The predator used this to his advantage, and rushed forward. It’s pride had been scarred, It didn’t know that they had loaded the caravan with explosives.That was there trap and he wasn’t supposed to surprise him, he was to trap them.This insult was punishable by death.The Kajal tribe had one rule: the prey was not to see the face of their killer, they were the first, and the predator was going to see to it that they were the last. Link and Duo were ready for the rush and with a simple dodge Duo punched the predator in the face so hard, that the mask that shrouded the evil in mystery, shattered. Pecices of the mask fell to the ground and clinked and clanked against each other, Link saw it. He saw the face of the killer that killed all the kids in the Kokori forest. It was horrifiying: it had long mandibles on the side of it’s cheeks. Long, sharp teeth ajoined the large snake-like mouth and a large forehead was surronded by a bony crown. The eyes were the most fearful part, they looked like they were peering into your soul and wanted to burn it and send you to hell.
Link and Duo had enough of this run-around. They rushed at him, but this time the predator was going to get the upper hand: it hit Duo in the place where it thought the eye was and sure enough, his blow cracked the eyepeice. The result was something even the predator was shocked about. The eye color. It was a deep shadow purple, while the pupil was a inky black. “Is that your real eye color ?” Link asked sheepishly. Duo simply responded “yes, but now is not the time for a cosmetic interview. We’ve got a bigger problem to stop”. Both of them were ready to die killing this thing, but they wern’t sure if they were going to die without killing the predator.At the same time the Predator wasn’t just any enemy, and they were facing a opponent that could face a world of punishment and still keep going.

(Duo’s POV)
The smell of blood,gunpowder,and sweat was permeating in the air, we had battled for hours, all of us were fatigued beyond realization. I was surprised that Link could keep going after all the injuries he had sustained. There were numerous cuts and abrasions on him. I my self was injured: I had two long gashes across my chest and one on my face. The face wound was a close one: the predator dragged his wristblades above my eye. I managed to pull away before he cut my eye, but left a hideous scar. I knew that this fight was going to be epic, something I would never forget, if I lived long enough to remember it.
(Third Person POV)
The predator was losing the battle, he was badly injured and was not fast enough to stop the onslaught of two strong opponents. He had to think of a plan. Then suddenly it hit him: he was fighting two opponents. He needed to fight them one at a time if he wanted to win. He then pulled out one of his trump cards: a magnetic barrier, trapping him and Duo inside.....

(Predator’s POV)
Damn! I wanted the boy instead of Duosis. Well, at least I can finish the objective I came for. On this day I will kill the fool who dared to think he was one of us....

(Third Person POV)
The sound of clashing metal was all that could be heard. Many gaurds had been sent to the forest to investigate the action. Inside the sphere, Duo and the Predator were battling to the death. They were envenly matched, and it seemed whoever dropped their gaurd first would lose. The predator was panicking, it never expected that Duo would be so strong. He then did the one thing even a Predator wouldn’t do: take a cheap shot. He hit Duo in the face with the middle handle of the combostick and stabbed Duo in the stomach. Duo’s pupil suddenly became the size of dots as he realized that he had failed in his promise to the people of Hyrule. He fell to the ground and babbled incorherently before a dark wave washed over his eyes.....

(Third Person POV)
Link was quivering, not in fear but in anger. One of his best friends had died in front of his eyes. He had enough, and something snapped in his mind. He went balistic. He charged at the predator with a crazed fury. Half of Link’s mind was telling him that this approach to the problem was going to end up killing him. The other half was telling him that this was the way that he was going to kill the predator. He hit the magnetic barrier and to his and the predator’s surprise went through it! He slashed at the predator and landed a few hits before the predator knew what was going on. The predator then started to parry the blows coming from Link, and knocked Link down and disarmed him. The predator lifted his head and unleashed a victory roar, it had won or so it thought. It lifted the combostick above Link’s head, fully prepared to strike down, cleaving Link’s head off. Link closed his eyes and waited for his death . He then heard the sound of metal tearing through flesh and bone.
He opened his eyes and to his surprise, Duo was behind the predator with his combostick impaling the predator and himself through the chest. “I thought you were dead. Link said. “I decided that I couldn’t lie in my grave quietly while he was alive!” Duo responded Duo then picked up the predator’s combostick and surprisingly impaled himself and then the predator again. With two spears impaling them both, the predator tried to pull himself off the combosticks and run, but Duo punched him in the throat. The blow stunned the predator and while he was incapacitated, activated his self-destruct system. He was going to take the son-of-a-bitch with him. He then ripped the blade gaunlet on his arm off and activated the teleporter and threw it at Link. “Nooooo!” Link yelled, as he was sucked from the battle sence in a flash. “Where am I ?” Link asked, his eyes were burning from the flash. He opened his eyes to find himself in Hyrule field. “Goddamn it!!” he yelled. He started to run back to the forest. He stopped when he saw a blue trail fly over his head to where the battle was. He looked up to see a large energy surge growing bigger and bigger with every trail hitting it. He heard a voice echo through the forest, it didn’t sound human. Plasmatic Positron Absorbtion Nuclear Self-Destruct System activated. All life-forms in a two mile radius please relocate yourself a safe area as far away as possible from absorbtion site.
The energy surge grew bigger and bigger... Link sheilded his eyes. A resounding boom followed He opened his eyes to see a shockwave tear across the field. He quickly played Epona’s song and jumped onto Epona’s back and rode as fast as he could.The sockwave hit him, and tripped up Epona, he went flying and landed on a rock, breaking his ribs. In his eyes he saw a mushroom-shaped cloud rise over the forest. He knew that Duo wanted to die with this thing. He only wondered if there might have been another way, but now, he slowly got to his feet, mounted Epona and rode into the sunset. His destination was Hyrule castle, He planned to have the master builder build a statue. A statue of a friend that gave his life so that other would have their’s. He would never forget him. He looked down at his left arm, He attached Duo’s blade gaunlet to his arm. The only thing he left for him. As a friend, he would use it.

(Third Person POV)
Scanning injuries..... Estimated blood loss: 80%, subject in critical condition. Eight severed arteries. Estimated life span with sustained injuries, not treated....twenty minutes. Automatic Blood Transfusion Kit activated. Subject name: DUO. Estimated recovery time: four years. Active camoflauge activated. Automatic Hibernation recovery sustination activated. Shutting down.....
