Link's Sonnet to Zelda by Macorum

As I sit upon a rock this night
My mind is swimming with thoughts of you,
And of how our love might have flourished
If both of our hearts had been true.
You made me replace the sword in the stone.
My task was done; I had reached my goal.
Yet, as I look back on the day that we parted,
My mind and my heart no longer feel whole.
I went from you with a heavy heart,
A burden that no man can bare.
The tears stream down the side of my face
How I hurt you was unfair.
This lament of mine comes to a close.
Will we meet in the future?  Who knows.
