Before I Rest by lightofdin64
Summary: This isn't strictly a Zelda poem, but it's based on it. Link is basically reviewing his life in a very deep way, and in this I make it like his mother died and left him behind because she messed up.

Before I Rest

Grabbing what is not there
Justified but I don't care
Without the lips the teeth are cold
This truth I just can't unfold
The king is wrenching the pawn about
King knocks pawn and screeches, "Lout!"
Yes, I do, I see her wings
Can they not take me to better things?
Bacteria swimming within the eye
Myself I wish to sanctify
Bacteria burning from blood to flesh
Made up of my mother's mess
Stung again, so bittersweet
Hanged with a stained red velvet sheet
The velvet looks so promising
The end of wishes in need for granting
You and I go hand in hand
No memories, no promised land
Now where shall I ever begin?
Where's the river where I can pour my sins?

Underneath her powdered feet
Rising in my hands the heat
Regret the things I marked back then
Burn the messages I meant to send
Into the dark out of the light
The shadow of angst has reached its height
Monstrosity cracks the lens in center
From pain withdraws his insane pleasure
Lights of dust glitters on me
Reminding me that I'm not all the way free
Bacteria burning from blood to flesh
Made up of my mother's mess
How time flies when you're only one
Yearning for the ribbons to be undone
I myself white in the bandages
I love the world less and less
Every minute proves to be hell
If it meant happiness, my soul I'd sell
Now where shall I ever begin?
Where's the river where I can pour my sins?
